Bones' Star Emily Deschanel National Spokesperson for Farm Sanctuary's Walk for Farm Animals (VIDEO)

Bones’ Star Emily Deschanel 34, is now national spokesperson for Farm Sanctuary’s Walk for Farm Animals. Besides being beautiful and talented she has a love of animals and that’s a win-win in our books.

The Walk For Farm Animals takes place in the Fall in 35 cities in both the U.S. and Canada. In the video clip below she says:

“Farm animals are just as interesting and intelligent as the dogs and cats who we know a bit better,” says Deschanel. “Yet they are treated by the meat industry as though they are inanimate objects with no feelings or personalities.”

“When you walk, you give hope to billions of animals who are suffering right now on factory farms,” “Please join me in supporting this important effort by registering to participate in aWalk for Farm Animals near you at WalkForFarmAnimals.org.”

Whether you eat meat or not, if you’ve seen any inside coverage (and by that I mean taken without the knowledge of the farm) you know that the animals are treated in an unnecessarily cruel manner. It’s actually quite barbaric.

And if you can’t get ‘out’ to walk, no worries. They have a ‘virtual’ walk. Visit their site for more information.

Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz Bring Bones To The Paley Center – PHOTOS

David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel at bones Paleyfest

Emily Deschanel rocked her baby bump as she and her costar David Boreanaz appeared at the Paley Center in Los Angeles for the presentation of Bones along with Michaela Conlin and T.J. Thyne.

New Couple Alert: Michael Clarke Duncan and Omarosa [PHOTOS]

Because of her pregnancy, Emily will miss about 6 or 7 episodes of the 7th season of Bones and as a result Fox is considering incorporating characters from Bones’ spin off series The Finder into those 6 or 7 episodes. That will see Finder stars Geoff Stults and Michael Clarke Duncan making an appearance.

Nothing is confirmed or finalized yet as they try to figure out creative ways of filling the gap.

More pictures after the break.

A ‘Bones’ Spoiler Alert

I’ve not watched Bones but I hear nothing but good things about it.  It strikes me as a quality show. So it kind of surprises me that the show’s creator Hart Hanson is wooing Jersey Shore’s Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino to be on the show:

“We’re trying to get The Situation to play a murder victim,” Hanson reveals. “A guido is killed and Booth and Brennan enter that world to find out what happens. We’re not sure if it’ll happen or not. Talks are ongoing.”

Further details about The Situation‘s character on the show are he will play:

fitness guru Ritchie “The V” Genero in the October episode. The search is on for an actress to costar as Ritchie’s Victoria Gotti-esque mom.

Apparently David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel were at Fox’s Press Tour the other night and David said that Brennan:

will “understand them because she considers [guidos] a tribe.”

Emily echoed that sentiment:

“Brennan anthropologically studies them and knows the lingo and the behavior. [She's] down with the whole guido stuff.”

And don’t worry:

“I guarantee that there will be a fist pump.”

Do you watch Bones? Are you surprised by this?

The 24th Annual Genesis Awards

Animal lovers unite! The 24th Annual Genesis Awards were held in Beverly Hills last night which honours  the major news and entertainment media for producing outstanding works which raise public understanding of animal issues.

This year, Melanie Griffith’s mother, Tippi Hedren received the Lifetime Achievement Award for her tireless dedication with The Roar Foundation’s Shambala Preserve an 80-acre wildlife habitat that she founded in 1983. Their mission:

To educate the public about exotic animals and to advocate for legislation to protect them.  To provide sanctuary for exotic animals who have suffered from gross mistreatment and neglect so they can regain their physical and mental health and live out their lives in dignity.
