Eminem and Royce da 5’9” hooked up for this new video, “Fast Lane” which is the first single from their Bad Meets Evil EP Hell: The Sequel, arriving on  June 14. This one is directed by Syndrome.  The live animation definitely gives this one a different spin… check it out (NSFW lyrics):

A week ago the Grammys shocked the world of music when Eminem lost out on Album of the Year and Justin Bieber on Best New Artist. Instead awarding Arcade of Fire for their album Suburbs and Esperanza Spalding as Best New Artist. I know. Right?

Enter Steve Stoute. He’s a veteran marketing and music executive that was so pissed by the snubs he took out a full-page ad (major ca-ching) in the New York Times chastising the Grammy organization and the National Academy for Recording Arts and Sciences (NARA) for basically having their heads up their asses (my words not his, he’s much more eloquent).

Interestingly enough he points out that despite the snubs the two performed on the award show which also happened to set audience records attracting more than 26.7 million viewers. Only it’s highest since 2001. You can bet your butt it had everything to do with Eminem and Bieber performing.

An executive close to the telecast of The Grammys told EW exclusively that although Stoute makes valid points, the show operates independently of the voting process:

“The TV group is tasked to produce a Grammy-branded event for TV,” the executive said. “The voting procedure is done by the NARAS membership which has nothing to do with who produces the TV show.

Do you think Eminem and Justin Bieber got ripped off? I have to say I have Eminem’s latest CD Recovery and I am beyond impressed. I can’t stop listening to it. It really is his best work. And as for Justin Bieber, I know people love to hate him, and it’s usually those over 18, but you can not deny he has done exceptionally well all things considered and before the Grammys last weekend, very few people knew who Esperanza Spalding was. Not that she isn’t worthy, but isn’t Best New Artist supposed to be more of a household name?

OMG. This had to be one of the best, if not THE best performance of the night. The 2011 Grammy Awards went down last night and Eminem teamed up with Rihanna (who rocked the stage, illness and all), Dr. Dre, and Skylar Grey.

Happy Valentine’s Day!  My goodness!  What a night full of amazing performances and yes, a letdown or two.  But overall, the 2011 Grammy Awards came through and delivered last night.  Eminem swept the nominations, but he surprisingly didn’t sweep up the wins.  It just goes to show, the nominations don’t actually spell out the winners.

Eminem covers Rolling Stone magazine but isn’t 100% visible because of the shadow of his hoodie. That’s a shame because I like looking into his angry eyes. In the issue he talks about trust issues with women:

I have trust issues. With women, friends, whatever. You always wonder what their real motives are. I’ve got a small circle of friends, and it’s a lot of the same friends I’ve known forever. Right now, that works for me. I came out of some difficult things these past couple of years. I kind of feel like I’m just now finding my footing. So I want to make sure that’s secure before I go out and do anything else. I need to keep working on myself for a while.

On whether or not he dates:

Not really. As far as going out, like dinner and a movie—I just can’t. Going out in public is just too crazy. I mean, I’d like to be in a relationship again someday. Who doesn’t? It’s just hard to meet new people, in my position.

Eminem strikes me as the type of guy that once he finds someone he can trust, he’ll make a good partner.  But this is also contingent on him staying away from drugs and alcohol. He just needs to be loved unconditionally.

Rihanna collaborated with Eminem on Love The Way You Lie and told Bravo:

“Working with Em was a huge honour,” “He is such a great artist – very quiet, but super nice! The track is, in my opinion, the best I have ever made.”

I freaking LOVE that song. It never gets old. And she addresses those rumours that she dissed her BFF Katy Perry’s style of music:

“Katy is my friend! I would never diss her,” I am my only rival because I always want to be better. I was just slandering producers who offer stars like Katy, Gaga, Ke$ha or me always the same, total usual pop songs. Along the lines of, ‘One of them is gonna pick it.’ They just don’t notice that every one of us has her own style.

“I love Katy’s music! That’s why I absolutely want to record a duet with her. We work at full speed on that.“

I can totally see those two recording together.  Maybe tour together?

Russell Brand & Katy Perry To Marry October 23 With NO Pre-Nup

Eminem, along with other musicians and rappers attended yesterday’s Epicenter Twenty Ten in Fontana California, where he kind of stole the show from KISS who were the headliners. I’m a little surprised that in 2010 KISS are the headliners and not Eminem, so it’s not so shocking now is it?

According to the write-up with the photo he hit the stage:

in dramatic fashion after a Star Wars-type script scrolled across a space-themed giant screen, calling the show the Detroit native’s “Recovery”. The cinematic note read, “In 2005, after completing a U.S. tour, Eminem stopped performing. Eminem entered rehab, a European tour was cancelled and there were rumors that he was retiring. Over the following years, Eminem appeared to be detached and unfocused. Seldom did he return to perform live. Tonight Eminem returns to the stage. You are all here to witness Eminem’s Recovery.”

Marshall Mathers performed such tunes as My Name Is, The Real Slim Shady, Stan, Not Afraid, I Love The Way You Lie and his encore was Lose Yourself

During his performances the jumbo screen showed images of  his late BFF Proof as well as slain rappers Notorious B.I.G., and Tupac Shakur.

Apparently after Eminem finished performing half of the stadium left. Who can blame them? Were you there? Was it as epic as the write-up says?

Aside from Maria Menounos (pictured above) I didn’t think anybody’s outfit was all that great at last night’s MTV VMAs. Katy Perry admitted she looked like a figure skater.  Her saving grace was the little faces of fiance Russell Brand on her finger nails. Coincidentally as I was watching the MTV VMA’s I was wearing panties that had Russell Brand’s face on them.

Lady GaGa looked like a proud peacock in her outfit. Her outfits always look very uncomfortable to me. Snooki dipped herself a little to long in the bronzing cauldron before the show.

Overall the outfits and the show itself were kind of uneventful.  I love Chelsea Handler but I don’t think she was the greatest host.  I liked her opening skit that featured Lindsay Lohan.

I loved watching Eminem perform and then singing Love The Way You Lie with Rihanna but it was cut short. Perhaps that’s because he had to catch a plane.

Taylor Swift’s song was apparently about forgiving Kanye West and I guess the best reference to that was when she sang you are not what you did. Apparently they met backstage and talked before she went out and all is good.  According to US they both agreed not to talk to others about their conversation.

Kanye’s song was hysterical Let’s have a toast for the douchebags.  I would have thought he would sing his song for Taylor Swift but I’m pretty sure that wasn’t it. Kanye still has his edge about him, doesn’t he?
