‘Sherlock Holmes’ Premieres in New York
Guy Ritchie and his cast of Sherlock Holmes Jude Law, Robert Downey Jr., Rachel McAdams, and Mark Strong attended the New York premiere of the movie which opens Christmas Day. Rachel talked about how it was to squeeze into a corset in the film:
“It was like something out of Gone With The Wind,” Rachel laughed. “I’m there holding on to the trailer door trying to eke out just a little bit of space so I can speak properly.
“Each morning, they tried to make me laugh and on the laugh they’d yank – that’s how they managed to squeeze me in every day. But it was fun to be that authentic. It really dropped me into the period.”
“I wasn’t allowed to take the corset off,” she told Total Film magazine. “I had to rely on yoga exercises. Don’t get me wrong – I’m such a girly girl, I was in heaven being dressed in these incredible costumes!”
I am so grateful I wasn’t born into that era. I could not handle wearing such tight garments. Are you a fan of fashion from that era?
