New Images of George Clooney in Ides of March!

New Images of George Clooney in Ides of March!

Who doesn’t want a little more Clooney in their day? New images of George & company in his latest hyphenated effort as director and star ofThe Ides of March have dropped courtesy of Sony and Yahoo.

With this batch we get another glimpse of the director, this time watching the action with a couple key members of his cast, Ryan Gosling and Evan Rachel Wood. I particularly like the pic of candidate Mike Morris (Clooney) on the podium with the picture perfect family. I know that’s Jennifer Ehle playing who I can only assume is his wife, although I can find no cast listing for her or anyone else in that role.

Ides of March Trailer, Poster & Set Images!

Co-written by Clooney and Grant Heslov, The Ides of March is an adaptation of play Beau Willimon’s play, “Farragut North”, which was in turn loosely based on the 2004 Democratic primary campaign of Howard Dean. When it opened in 2008 in New York, Chris Noth (Sex and the City‘s ‘Big’) had the lead. The film’s synopsis: An idealistic staffer (Gosling) for a newbie presidential candidate (Clooney) gets a crash course on dirty politics during his stint on the campaign trail.

The cast also includes Paul Giamatti, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Marisa Tomei and Jeffrey Wright. The Ides of March is opening the Venice Film Festival on August 31 and will play the Toronto Film Festival in September before opening in the US on October 7 and 28 October in the UK.

Elisabetta Canalis Can’t Get Over George Clooney

Elisabetta Canalis can’t get over George and neither could I.  OMG.  Can you imagine being dumped by him??  I’d never get out of my sweats again.  Tubs of ice cream… the works.

George loved her cooking so much that she’s still hooking him up with it!

She’s sending him jars of her tomato sauce as well as other specialties like marinated eggplant and sesame cookies. “Elisabetta was of course heartbroken when George ended things, because she really believed they’d marry one day. But she still feels the need to feed and take care of him when she can,” the insider says. “She knows the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, so that could be the reason she’s still sending him care packages.”

What a doll she is!  I could NEVER do that.  I have way too much pride.  But then, anything to get back in his house, right?

Ides of March Trailer, Poster & Set Images!

Ides of March Trailer, Poster & Set Images!

Earlier this week we brought you the first images from The Ides of March, focusing primarily on Ryan Gosling’s character. Today we have the first trailer, a kick-ass poster and some set pics that showcase director and star, George Clooney.

Co-written by Clooney and Grant Heslov, The Ides of March is an adaptation of the play Farragut North (which had been the film’s title as well. Apparently it was Clooney and not the studio who wanted it changed) by Beau Willimon. The film’s synopsis: An idealistic staffer (Gosling) for a newbie presidential candidate (Clooney) gets a crash course on dirty politics during his stint on the campaign trail. This  would seem to follow the play pretty closely.

“Stephen is a wunderkind press secretary who has built a career that men twice his age would envy. During a tight presidential primary race, however, Stephen’s meteoric rise falls prey to the backroom politics of more seasoned operatives, and his one night stand with a teenage staffer proves to be more complicated than casual. Farragut North is a classic tale of hubris set against a contemporary landscape – about the lust for power and the costs one will endure to achieve it.”

Take a look at this trailer

I personally love a good political thriller. One of my favorite movies of last year was The Ghost Writer.  One of my all time favorites is All the President’s Men.  I’m a huge fan of the 1949 version of All the King’s Men (I think I’m one of the few who actually saw the 2006 version). This, looks right up my alley. I’m not going to try to find out too much more than I already know about it. There’s enough talent here to warrant a little bit of good faith. I also really liked the fact that you can’t figure out exactly who the good guys or the bad guys are supposed to be. All we know for sure is that apparently idealistic Gosling starts out working for candidate Clooney. One of the other things I like about the trailer is the glimpse we get of Marisa Tomei’s character, or rather that she’s actually playing a character. She’s a terrific actress, but she does seem to play variations on “the girlfriend” most of the time.

The impressive cast also includes Paul Giamatti, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Evan Rachel Wood and Jeffrey Wright. The Ides of March is opening the Venice Film Festival on August 31 and will play the Toronto Film Festival in September before opening in the US on October 7 and 28 October in the UK.

New Trailer for George Clooney in The Descendants (VIDEO)

New Trailer for George Clooney in The Descendants

A new trailer has been released for Alexander Payne’s The Descendants starring George Clooney as Matt King, a father on the verge of a nervous breakdown, trying to reconnect with his two teen-aged daughters after his wife has an accident and lingers on life-support. The title refers to the land that been handed down to his family from Hawaiian royalty. In addition to his other problems, King must decide whether or not to sell his family’s legacy.

This looks similar to The Boys Are Back, starring Clive Owen (only with girls) but it also looks like it has elements of Payne’s earlier films, particularly About Schmidt, a brilliant ‘dramedy’ in which Jack Nicholson had to adjust to life as a widower and attempt to reconnect with his family.

The supporting cast of The Descendants includes Judy Greer, Beau Bridges and Robert Forster and is scheduled for a December 16, 2011.  George Clooney…nuff said.

CONFIRMED: George Clooney and Girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis Split!

CONFIRMED: George Clooney and Girlfriend Elizabeth Canalis Split!

George Clooney and his girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis have split up and have confirmed it via a joint press release:

“We are not together anymore. It’s very difficult and very personal, and we hope everyone can respect our privacy.”

As sexy as these two were together, George Clooney is just one of those guys who will never marry. He is the epitome of a confirmed bachelor.

Elisabetta Canalis is a Seductress For Cavalli

He’s a great guy, almost perfect if you think about it. And let’s face it, there are lots of men out there who would love to get down with Elisabetta Canalis and her smoking hot body. Who can blame them?

She was quoted as saying (not so long ago) that she hopes to one day be married. It seems that whenever a woman of Clooney’s even mentions the word commitment or marriage, the relationship ends shortly thereafter.

Are you surprised?

Elisabetta Canalis is a Seductress For Cavalli

Elisabetta Canalis is the face (and body) for some more racy Roberto Cavalli Underwear ads.  I can hear the applause…..  This is her second round for the brilliant line.  So if you don’t know her for this, perhaps you’ll recognize her as George Clooney‘s girlfriend.  Which makes them one of the hottest couples.  Ever.

George Clooney Talks Marriage (Or Lack Thereof)

Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott were the photographers for this campaign.

“For my new underwear collection I chose Elisabetta again… my ideal of a woman: charm, charisma and sensuality, united together,” Roberto Cavalli says in a statement. “With her Mediterranean beauty and intense gaze she’s interpreted an intriguing and super-feminine woman.”

You will find no argument here or anywhere for that matter.  She is the perfect choice.

George Clooney Talks Marriage (Or Lack Thereof)

One of Hollywood’s hottest pieces of man meat, George Clooney was married once upon a time and that’s where he’s leaving it. His gorgeous girlfriend will remain just that.  His girlfriend.  Elisabetta Canalis won’t be walking down the aisle in 2011, or ever with George.

On Location: George Clooney Filming ‘The Descendants’

He was on Piers Morgan Tonight with his dad on Friday, and he made it quite clear that he has no intentions of following in his parent’s footsteps.  They’ve been married for over 50 years.

In response to the whole marriage question Clooney reponded,

“I hate to blow your whole news story, but I was married, so I gave it a shot.”

I don’t think Elisabetta cares either.  She’s got Georgey-Poo on her arm and in her bed.  She’s happy.  Plain and simple. Who wouldn’t be?

2010 Emmy Awards Winners List & PHOTOS

2010 Emmy Awards Winners List & PHOTOS

I don’t know that there were any real surprises last night although personally I would have liked to see Friday Night Lights win something. That is a stellar show that is supposedly going off the air which is unbelievable to those of us who are addicted to the show.

Anyhoo…front and centre of course would be Mr. George Clooney because he’s Mr. George Clooney and also because he won the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award which was very well deserved.  In his speech he spoke of focusing our attention on those that really need it:

“It’s important to remember how much good can get done because we live in such strange times where bad behaviours suck up all the attention in the press and the people who really need the spotlight, the Haitians, the Sudanese, the people in the Gulf Coast… Pakistan, they can’t get any (press).”

Trying to bring a little levity to things, he added:

“I thought maybe there was a way to combine the two. I offered to go to the South Sudan and have a wardrobe malfunction, but it was pointed out to me that I’m 49 and it would just be upsetting and kind of sad.”

Actually no it wouldn’t, lol.

It was great to see Jim Parsons of The Big Bang Theory (another fabulous show) win Best Actor in a Comedy and of course Jane Lynch for Best Actress in a Comedy for her portrayal of Sue Sylvester in Glee.
