Thanks for Sharing is about sex addiction, but it is as far removed from Shame as it could possibly get, especially since it mines the subject for laughs. How far we’ve come in a year.  Thanks for Sharing stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Mark Ruffalo, Tim Robbins and Josh Gad (Love and Other Drugs)

From the Academy Award nominated writer of The Kids are All Right, Thanks for Sharing is a touching and unpredictable comedy that follows three sex addicts as they struggle to function in society while maintaining meaningful relationships. Along the way, Adam (Ruffalo) attempts to forge a relationship with Phoebe (Paltrow), a wildly independent and beautiful woman who has sworn off dating addicts after breaking up with an alcoholic. Mike (Robbins) is married to his high school sweetheart, but becomes as addicted to his 12 step recovery program as he does to sex. Neil (Gad), on the other hand, hides a camera on his tennis shoe to secretly film up women’s skirts – all while trying to convince his friends that he can live a life without sex. Throughout the film, they each deal with their addictions in different and hilarious ways in this unusual and sweet comedy.

The film also stars Joely Richardson, Carol Kane, Isiah Whitlock, Jr., Patrick Fugit and Pink. Thanks for Sharing opens August 9 in the US.

GOOPmeister Gwyneth Paltrow and Mark Ruffalo were in Central Park yesterday filming their movie 'Thanks For Sharing' which is a comedy about three people who are undergoing a 12-step program for sex addiction. This sounds very promising kittens.

I love Gwyneth in movies, I can't deny she's a talented actress, but she just comes across a little too elitist at times, except of course the time she called her grandmother a c*nt on Chelsea Lately. Maybe it's because she's good friends with Madonna and Stella McCartney. I picture the three of them together being the nastiest of biotches.

Anyhoo, this movie also stars Tim Robbins and of course as we told you at the beginning of the month Pink is making her acting debut as a sex addict which is casting perfection.

Steven Soderbergh’s Contagion got the full red carpet glamour treatment on Saturday night in Venice. On hand were the director and some of his all-star cast, including Gwyneth Paltrow (loved the dress from the waist up. Waist down it was just odd), Laurence Fishburne, Jennifer Ehle and Matt Damon, whose shaved pate matched his director’s. Matt’s is for an upcoming film. He’s currently filming Elysium for Neil Blomkamp up in British Columbia. Not sure exactly what the plot is or why he needs a bald head, (something sci-fi), but it’s got an amazing cast. I’m disappointed that Kate Winslet wasn’t there. She premiered Carnage and Mildred Pierce (which is being released theatrically in some parts of Europe) and then apparently left. Maybe she wanted to get back to New York for her kids to start school. Maybe Louis was bored. Who knows. I just wanted to see another dazzling red carpet ensemble. (Everyone is still talking about that Stella McCartney optical illusion thing. Stunning!)

Bringing the glam was Mrs. Matt Damon, Luciana Barroso Damon. She looked gorgeous, although she probably looks gorgeous when she gets up in the morning. Matt shared his wife’s nickname for him, which is “Red Alert”. Apparently he’s the kind of over-protective parent that checks to see if his daughters are still breathing at night, but he insists he’s not a “helicopter parent.” That’s so cute.

On an episode of Fashion Police, Kelly Osbourne 26, called Christina Aguilera ‘a Fat B*tch’ after Joan Rivers said of Christina’s dress that she wore to her Munich fashion launch.:

“She looks like Snooki’s Scandinavian cousin. It’s a pretty dress but she’s stuffed into it.”

‘Snooki’s Scandinavian cousin? I know that’s cruel but that’s also very funny. I love Joan Rivers she really cracks me up.

That’s when Kelly really went for the jugular:

“Maybe she is just becoming the fat b***h she was born to be. I don’t know. She went on to say: “She was a c**t to me. And she bought my house!”  ”She called me fat for so many f***ing years, so you know what? F**k you! You’re fat too.”

Apparently the cat fight started back in 2002 when Kelly made a disparaging remark about Christina Aguilera on The Osbourne’s reality show. Did you ever watch that show? It was so funny to watch Ozzy try to understand the women in his life. I can still hear him: Kelly…I don’t f*cking know what you want, Kelly. If you didn’t watch you won’t get.

Seeing as it’s been nine years and all, maybe it’s time to bury the hatchet?

Gwyneth Paltrow is opening up in the September issue of Elle Magazine where she admits that her 7-year marriage to Chris Martin isn’t always so rosy:

“Sometimes it’s hard being with someone for a long time,” “We go through periods that aren’t all rosy. I always say, life is long and you never know what’s going to happen.”

“If, God forbid, we were ever not to be together, I respect him so much as the father of my children,” the Oscar winner continued. “Like, I made such a good choice. He’s such a good dad. You can never be relaxed or smug and think, ‘I’ve got this thing.’ That’s also part of it — keeping yourself on your toes. I’m not going to take this for granted.”

You know there is no denying that marriage has its moments but I’m getting the feeling that as opposed to Jennifer Lopez who did her magazine interview what seemed like hours after her split from Skeletor, it seems like the Goopmeister is doing hers before the announcement. Am I reading too much into that quote? Perhaps, but this blind item was circulating a week ago and word is it’s Gwyneth.

However she has the world of respect for him particularly as a musical artist and refers to him as:

“a musical genius,” It’s like living with Picasso, and being like, ‘Should I make a little something-something?’” “He makes music for his fans, and he doesn’t want people to conjure a lame famous couple when they’re getting into his music. I get it,”

Has she ever seen him perform? Speaking of music, we’ve seen Gwyneth do her share of music lately (Glee, Country Strong) her BFF’s Beyonce and Jay-Z are encouraging Gwyneth to cut an album of her own:

“Beyoncé and Jay—they think that I should just go do it by myself. That I should go…in a studio and see what happens. And if it’s good, do it. And if it’s not, don’t. So that’s probably what I’ll do.”

She even talks about the time she appeared on Chelsea Lately and called her grandmother a c*nt:

“Doing Chelsea Handler is like doing Howard Stern: You’ve gotta rise to the occasion. It’s good to shock people who think of me as the prim Gwyneth Paltrow.”

“If you speak to my friends who’ve known me since I was 4, they’ll say, ‘That is her.’ They always said to me, ‘You’re the dirtiest person in the world, and so funny. Show the world that side of you.’”

I felt guarded. I felt like if I really showed people more of me and I was still not accepted, then…Who cares. You just realize it doesn’t matter what people think of you.”

A lot of people were so offended by that video but seriously she was doing it to shock people and it was funny. If you can get over that word used in the same sentence as grandma hehe.

Warner Brothers has released the first trailer for Steven Soderbergh’s virus thriller, Contagion.  Matt Damon, Kate Winslet (I love her! Two movies this year! Skweee!), Gwyneth Paltrow, Jude Law, Marion Cotillard, Lawrence Fishbourne, Bryan Cranston, Demitri Martin, John Hawkes, Jennifer Ehle, Sanaa Lathan and Elliott Gould all star. That’s what I call a killer cast! (nyuk nyuk).

With a screenplay by Scott Z. Burns (who apparently likes to write for Matt Damon. This is their third film together after The Bourne Ultimatum and The Informant!), the plot is centered on the threat posed by a deadly disease, and the international team of doctors and scientists with the CDC who are tasked to deal with it. The official synopsis: “Contagion follows the rapid progress of a lethal airborne virus that kills within days. As the fast-moving epidemic grows, the worldwide medical community races to find a cure and control the panic that spreads faster than the virus itself. At the same time, ordinary people struggle to survive in a society coming apart.”

It’s called an action-thriller, but this my idea of a horror movie! Holy crap, it’s like 1995′s Outbreak on steroids! (No monkeys this time, birds. Monkeys are cuter.)  ”Don’t talk to anyone, don’t touch anyone. Stay away from other people!” Gah! How paranoid is this gonna make everyone in the theater??

At least she can give you her cure!  Gwyneth Paltrow is a fan of wine and Guiness beer, both of which can give you a mean hangover if you have too many.  But in a recent interview with England’s Closer magazine, she revealed that she is rarely affected by hangovers because she knows just the right method to avoid it.

“I have a great hangover cure,” she explains. “I take a cold shower in the morning and then I go into the sauna and drink a lot of water throughout the day. Green tea also helps!”

Gwyneth Paltrow has a green thumb and she’s putting it to good use in her personal garden.  On her GOOP site, she says,

“We’ve got 4 varieties [of sage] going this year!” the Country Strong actress penned in the blog post. Paltrow also listed mint, kale, basil, and salvia.”

Miley Cyrus Smokes Weed in New Movie Role

Say what?!  Salvia?  Are you a dealer Miss Paltrow?  Noooo.  Apparently you can get high as a kite like the lovely Miley Cyrus smoking the stuff or you can cook with it.  That’s what they say.  But, I’d like to point out that people cook with and eat pot to get high… so not sure how this one works.  But, good for Gwyneth!!
