Wow. These people at Madame Tussaud’s are getting scary good at this! If I were a casual observer and didn’t know that I was looking at a wax figure of Kate Winslet’s famous figure, I wouldn’t even guess.

The statue was unveiled today, November 9, in London and I have to say that’s probably one of the best I’ve ever seen. And look at the background…it looks as if the real Dames Helen Mirren and Judi Dench are in the room with her.  Incredible.  I love the dress they chose for Kate’s look, too. That red Elie Saab (a favorite designer of hers) from the 2011 Emmys is a definite winner. Frankly, I’m surprised it took the people at Madame Tussaud’s this long to get around to Kate. You’d think they’d have “Jack and Rose” from Titanic in there somewhere (you know the pose I’m thinking of…”I’m flying!”)

Liz Edwards, PR Manager for the museum told Reuters, “Kate Winslet has been one of the most requested figures here at Madame Tussauds London. We actually asked our guests who they would like to see in a poll and she actually came top of a list in the poll so that's why she's here today."

I saw the trailer for Rowan Joffe’s Brighton Rock on the big screen yesterday and my jaw literally dropped. Why the hell have I not heard about this one before now?

Brighton Rock is based on the brilliant novel by British author Graham Greene ( also responsible for the books up which The End of the Affair and The Third Man are based) of the same name and let me tell you, the imdb synopsis barely skims the surface: “…charts the headlong fall of Pinkie, a razor-wielding disadvantaged teenager with a religious death wish.” I’m not sure what about that little blurb is gonna entice anyone to buy a ticket, but I’m thinking you should. Judging from the trailer I’d say writer/director Rowan Joffe (son of Roland “The Killing Fields” Joffe) has crafted a psychological thriller that captures the moody noir-ish atmosphere of Greene’s violent and sexually charged book (and yes, his religion does inform most of his work).

Andrea Riseborough, who is currently filming Welcome to the Punch with Mark Strong and James McAvoy and will appear as Wallis Simpson in Madonna’s W.E. later this year, plays Rose, the naive waitress beguiled into a romance with charming Pinkie, a sociopath trying to earn a reputation in the underworld of Brighton, England in the 1950′s played by Sam Riley (Contol) who looks here like Leo DiCaprio’s younger brother. Dame Helen Mirren plays Rose’s world-weary boss becomes suspicious Pinkie and his motivations, and of course it all goes wrong from there.

The cast also includes Philip Davis, Andy Serkis, Sean Harris and John Hurt. This is director Joffe’s first feature film although he was responsible for the screenplays for 28 Weeks Later, Last Resort and one of my favorites from 2010, The American.

Brighton Rock opens in theaters in the US either on August 19 (according to IFC Films site) or the  26th (says Fandango. Either way, I’ll bet my left tat that means NY and LA. Grrrrr) It is due On Demand on August 31. I’m giddy with excitement!

Do you love the look on Russell Brand’s face as he cups wife Katy Perry’s ass at the U.K. Premiere of Arthur? I’ve been staring at the picture too long. My obsession with Russell Brand and Katy Perry seems to be intensifying. I couldn’t take  my eyes off of these photos.

Katy looks gorgeous and Russell can’t keep his eyes off of her or his hand off of her ass. Who can blame him? She is stunning in that flesh-coloured gown. The colour, style, her hair, her skin are all perfection. I can’t tell you how much it pains me to say that considering I would like to dry-hump Russell.

How I wish I were at last night’s New York premiere of Arthur. I would have offered up any part of my body for Russell Brand to eat. And yes I”m well aware of how perverted that sounds. I seriously would love to dry hump Russell Brand. I wonder what my husband’s coworkers think when they read this stuff. They must really envy my husband *cough*.

Russell Brand took a liking to Jake Pauly at the premiere and tried to eat him. Kidding of course. The pictures are hysterical.

Denise from OnLocationVacations.com was at the Ziegfeld Theatre last night and says:

Russell Brand arrived first and he pulled up in the vintage Rolls Royce.  He spent a lot of time going down the entire line of fans signing autographs and posing for pictures with everyone.  He was very nice and even kissed a few women on the cheek!

He looked to be in a great mood as did Dame Helen Mirren, Greta Gerwig and Jennifer Garner. I love these pictures! Arthur hits theatres this Friday (April 8). Will you be seeing it?

Dame Helen Mirren was honoured with a hand and footprint ceremony at the famous Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles where her Arthur co-star (and dear friend) Russell Brand, 35, was on hand to lend his support and his lips on her cheek. Do you love this picture? There is so much love between these two. You know if they were both to be single at the same time they would totally be boning each other despite the 30 year age gap.

And even though she’s a Dame, she wouldn’t be offended by that remark because not only does she have an amazing sense of humour, she’s not a prude. What’s not to love? Her talent speaks for itself.

Helen Mirren, 65, also had her family along with her including husband Taylor Hackford, and his kids from previous marriages, as well as his grandkids.

How adorable is that?  Should Katy be worried?!  Ha!  Well, her man seems just as in “love” with Helen,

“I continue to be fascinated and infatuated with her and the more time I spend with her and the more I get to know her, the more the fascination increases,” he told Us last year. “She is an incredible woman.”

She is fabulous.  I actually am dying to watch her in Red.  I missed it in the theaters and have it on my list of movies for this week.
