End of Watch is a gritty new cop drama/thriller starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena, as cops; long time partners and friends. It was written and directed by David Ayer, the writer of Training Day, S.W.A.T., Dark Blue, Fast and Furious and U-571. He made his directorial debut with 2006’s Harsh Times. End of Watch is his first film since 2008’s Street Kings. A former member of the US Navy, Ayer spent a lot of time as a teenager on the streets of South Central LA. If the adage “write what you know” is true, and it certainly seems to be, these two facts have obviously informed most of Ayer’s work.

We have the first trailer for the film and it has the same “look” to it as Training Day and Street Kings (Co-written by James Ellroy and Kurt Wimmer, an egregiously overlooked example of the genre if you ask me). The trailer looks good, but I just have to wonder if it gives too much away. (Which again makes one wonder if the studio has faith in its product, that they have to oversell it.)  Watch this and you decide:

Jake Gyllenhaal is quite the playboy.  I am not calling him out, I am just pointing it out.  He’s always switching it up.  So who is the flavor of the week?  Us Weekly reports that Jake was out to breakfast with 90210 star,  Jessica Lowndes over at NYC’s Greenwich Hotel this week.

I want them together.  I love them together.  Who cares if they are 11 years apart.  They are so good looking together.  I doubt anything will come of this, but don’t you think they’d be perfect together?  Almost too perfect?

At last night’s 2011 Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala, Natalie Portman rocked a barely-there baby bump while Helen Mirren rocked a new short hairdo that looks fabulous on her.  But then again, anything looks fabulous on her.

Jake Gyllenhaal, Ben Affleck (looking a little bit too much like G.I. Joe), soon-to-be-daddy Javier Bardem and the super handsome Aaron Eckhart also attended the star-studded event that took place at Palm Springs Convention Centre.

The new Spiderman himself, Andrew Garfield attended looking, well, like a 12 year old basically. I feel a little dirty lusting after him. Time to take a shower.

She then got together with uber-delicious Jake Gyllenhaal but the rumour was they split because she was divorced and wasn’t ready to marry again.

So then very shortly after that she is dating Toth and here we have them engaged! Less than a year after hooking up. I just don’t get this type of thing. You say you aren’t ready for marriage yet you rebound with the very person you end up getting engaged to. And it’s for realz because her publicist has confirmed it!

Earlier today it was being reported that Jake Gyllenhaal gave girlfriend Taylor Swift an $11,000 rare guitar for his songstress.

The Sun reported that he will surely be getting lucky for Christmas as a result of the generous gift. Apparently The Sun claimed he purchased a Fender Gretsch – signed by country music legend Chet Atkins and that Swift had “drooled over” in a Nashville store.

Gossip Cop has come to the rescue and set that story straight saying that sources close to both Taylor and Jake say the story is hooey.

Considering they’ve only been dating a few months, perhaps that’s a bit overkill when it comes to giving the first birthday present, no? These two are so cute together. Do you think they make a good couple?
