Katie Couric is making her big debut on Glee after the Super Bowl in a week.  This is one guest star I really can’t picture.  I don’t know what it is, but something just doesn’t click for me.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Cee Lo Do “F*** You” Again

So what is her “character” going to be like?  I’d say herself.  She will be dancing with Matthew Morrison (Mr. Schuester) while being misidentified as Diane Sawyer by none other than Jane Lynch (Sue Sylvester.)

Yeah, that sounds about right.

Jane Lynch and Perez Hilton were among a star studded crowd at the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Centers 39th Anniversary Gala held at Hyatt Regency Century Plaza.  Could this be an opportunity for Perez to sneak into an episode of Glee?

Jane’s wife, Dr. Lara Embry was there as well.  Glee co-star Matthew Morrison was mingling in the crowd.  Check out the WEHO cheerleaders (below)… what a riot!

Gwyneth Paltrow is taking Glee by storm, rain storm that is.  FOX released some of the photos from the set and Paltrow looks like she is fitting right in.

The rainy scene will include Rihanna’s “Umbrella” the classic “Singin’ in the Rain.”

Jane Lynch is loving Gwyneth on set,

“I did a couple of scenes with her, and she is awesome,” Lynch raved to Us. “There is nothing she can’t do! She sings, she dances, she acts. She is funny and a great mom and a good person!”

The new season premieres on Tuesday, September 21 on Fox, but you can see Jane Lynch, Cory Monteith, Chris Colfer and Amber Riley on the MTV Video Music Awards Sunday September 12 when they present an award  together.

I don’t know that there were any real surprises last night although personally I would have liked to see Friday Night Lights win something. That is a stellar show that is supposedly going off the air which is unbelievable to those of us who are addicted to the show.

Anyhoo…front and centre of course would be Mr. George Clooney because he’s Mr. George Clooney and also because he won the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award which was very well deserved.  In his speech he spoke of focusing our attention on those that really need it:

“It’s important to remember how much good can get done because we live in such strange times where bad behaviours suck up all the attention in the press and the people who really need the spotlight, the Haitians, the Sudanese, the people in the Gulf Coast… Pakistan, they can’t get any (press).”

Trying to bring a little levity to things, he added:

“I thought maybe there was a way to combine the two. I offered to go to the South Sudan and have a wardrobe malfunction, but it was pointed out to me that I’m 49 and it would just be upsetting and kind of sad.”

Actually no it wouldn’t, lol.

It was great to see Jim Parsons of The Big Bang Theory (another fabulous show) win Best Actor in a Comedy and of course Jane Lynch for Best Actress in a Comedy for her portrayal of Sue Sylvester in Glee.

The 2010 Emmy Awards were held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles last night where, to me, Maria Menounos looked absolutely gorgeous in her custom-made dress. What a sexy back!

Kelly Osbourne’s dress also was quite lovely but I have to wonder what January Jones and Anna Paquin were thinking. January Jones wore an Atelier Versace but I have to say the cone part for the breasts took the dress to a new level of stupid.  It would have been nice if she had put a brush through her hair before the event.  I kept looking for the bull in the crowd that Anna Paquin was dressed to fight. I’m sorry I don’t mean to be mean but there was just nothing redeeming about that dress.

Dancing With The Stars‘ season 10 winner of the coveted disco ball trophy Nicole Scherzinger attended last night’s Audi cocktail party to kick off Emmy week. It was held at Cecconi’s in Los Angeles.

There are rumours that Nicole could become a permanent judge on X-Factor and that during her judging stint, she “didn’t take any sh*t” from the men.  I just love this girl more and more.  According to an insider to The Daily Star:

“I think she’d also disagree with Simon and Louis on purpose just to wind them up.

“She would be great for the show if she did land a permanent part in the future.”

This is the week where celebrities party and pick up lots of free swag. Summer may be ending but the silver lining in that is that new television programming is just around the corner.

Glee‘s Jane Lynch atteneded the Hollywood unveiling of her wax likeness and was a little freaked out:

“Holy crap—unbelievable. This is too much. This is too weird. I feel like I’m seeing myself in a coffin or something. Thank you so much!” Lynch tells PEOPLE the whole experience is “strange and eerie,” adding, “it looks just like me.”

The cloning process is a bit laborious:

“It took four hours,” Lynch said. “They took the measurements of my face and my body, and they put dots all over. There was a contraption that measured from here to here, to here, to here, to here for four hours.

It really is a great likeness.  What do you think?
