‘Tron: Legacy’ UK Premiere [Photos]

Olivia Wilde and Jeff Bridges absolutely dazzled on the red carpet at the UK premiere of ‘TRON: Legacy‘ held at the Empire Leicester Square in London last night.

Oliva can do no wrong no matter what and well, Jeff Bridges is my kind of munchable man candy.  If I could just lay around, listening to his sexy voice for the rest of my life, I’d die a very happy woman.

Seeing this Tron movie make a come back brings me back to my childhood.  I watched the original Tron movie many, many times when I was a kid and I will admit that this one looks a whole lot better.  A lot of the time you’ll hear me coming down on the remakes and sequels.  Not this time.  Tron: Legacy looks good.  Jeff Bridges says so.

Quote of the Day By Jeff Bridges

“You don’t want to get sexually involved with the other actor. It spells trouble. My family was and is too precious to me. I know sex can lose you everything.”

“I’m so in love with her. The relationship just keeps getting better and more intimate and sexier and all that stuff. My wife supports me and it makes me love her even more.”

“It was harder earlier on. Getting married was frightening.  ”No matter how much womanising you do as a single guy, you always think there’s more to be done.”

….On how he could never cheat on his wife.  What a fabulous man! He’s been married to Susan for 33 years!

2010 Oscars – The Winners

Kathryn Bigelow made Oscar history by being the first woman to win a Best Director Award.  I was thrilled for this win but also kind of thought ‘hey it’s 2010’.  Mind you I don’t know that there are a lot of women directors out there.  I thought it was interesting that Barbra Streisand presented the award considering she was snubbed years ago in the director category.  I loved when upon announcing the winner Barbara said ‘It’s about time’ (or something to that effect).

I don’t think there were any major surprises because all of the winners were already heavily predicted to win.

Although the buzz was that Kathryn Bigelow would win for Best Director I was a bit surprised The Hurt Locker won for best picture.  Not because I didn’t think it would or should, but because the buzz seemed to be surrounding Avatar.

Of all the Oscar speeches I have to say Jeff Bridges, Mo’Nique and Sandra Bullock’s were the most moving.  Even Sandra’s husband Jesse James was moved to tears.

Lots of other random people were in the press room with the winners.  There are a few pictures of Gerard Butler who seemed to really be enjoying being back there.  There is one of him and Bradley Cooper sandwiched in amongst some winners.

Also in the press room:

  • Ali Sheedy
  • Molly Ringwald
  • Robin Williams
  • Judd Nelson
  • Macaulay Culkin
  • Anna Kendrick
  • Rachel McAdams
  • Jake Gyllenhaal
  • Tom Ford
  • Zac Efron

Maggie Gyllenhaal Praises Acting & Drinking With Jeff Bridges

full_movies_for_grownups_awards_15_wenn2743479

Maggie Gyllenhaal poses with Jeff Bridges at last night’s ARP the Magazine‘s the Ninth Annual Movies for Grownup Awards held in Beverly Hills where she presented Jeff with the best actor award:

“[During filming], you had everyone come in your trailer and you had vodka and I wasn’t used to that, but I had an almost 2-year-old and I was up for it. And I remember in the end it dwindled down [to a few people] and you put your arm around Scott [Cooper, the director] and said, ‘This is our leader, man, this is our leader.’ And I wasn’t sure, but I went with you because you said that and you said that with all your heart … And I know something about his heart, and he deserves every award that you guys could come up with to give him.”

Robert DeNiro took home a Lifetime Achievement Honour.

Also attending the awards:

  • Juliette Lewis
  • Morgan Fairchild
  • Billy Crystal
  • Estella Warren
  • Elizabeth Rohm
  • Morgan Freeman
  • Jeremy Piven

full_screen_actors_guild_awards_16_wenn2720373

Last night the 16th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards took place in Los Angeles honouring your favourite movies and television voted for by members of SAG.

I just love the gowns that these women wear and to me there were three that really stood out:  Christina Applegate, Holly Hunter and of course Helen Mirren.   I don’t know that the picture does justice to Helen’s dress because when she walked out on stage she was absolutely breathtaking.

Tons of stars on the red carpet:

  • Steve Carrell
  • Jon Hamm
  • Colin Farrell
  • Matthew Morrison
  • Julie Louis-Dreyfus
  • Sandra Bullock
  • Mariah Carey
  • Adam Lambert

2010 Golden Globe Awards – Winners/Pressroom

full_wenn2714936

Yeah, you know you love that picture.  It was either Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler or Halle Berry.  I just wanted to tease the Gerard Butler fans :)

Before I get on with the winners of last night’s Golden Globe Awards, I just want to mention that I really enjoyed Ricky Gervais hosting.  What we saw of him.  I would have really liked for him to be on stage more often.  I particularly liked when he introduced Mel Gibson by saying:

“It’s not my fault. I like a drink as much as the next man. Unless the next man is Mel Gibson”

I’m sure your jaw dropped to the floor like the rest of us and the celebrities in the audience.  Mel didn’t seem bothered by it and in fact went along with it.

Sandra Bullock showed off her perfect German in her acceptance speech by telling her kids (she is step-mom to husband Jesse James’ kids):

“to brush their teeth and go to bed”

Although my television went black during his speech, I enjoyed watching Robert Downey Jr via YouTube:
