The second trailer for Rock of Ages has appeared online and we finally get to hear a little bit of Tom Cruise as he belts out Bon Jovi’s "Livin' on a Prayer". He certainly looks the part (not bad for a 48 year old that’s for damn sure) and he appears to be having a blast.

Directed by Adam Shankman (Hairspray) and based on the Tony Award nominated Broadway musical, it’s set in 1987and follows a fresh off the bus sweet-young-thing who comes to LA with stars in her eyes and big '80s hair. There, she meets a nice guy with ambitions of his own (Diego Boneta). When they meet, it's love at first sight, though their romance will face a series of challenges as they are seduced by the sex-drugs and rocknroll way of life personified by superstar Stacee Jaxx (Cruise), who meanwhile is falling for music journalist Malin Akerman.

The cast features Alec Baldwin (who could easily steal Tom Cruise’s thunder), Paul Giamatti, Russell Brand, Mary J. Blige, Catherine Zeta Jones and Julianne Hough playing the doe-eyed ingénue. It also features Will Forte, Bryan Cranston and Constantine Maroulis.

Rock of Ages includes the music of iconic bands such as Journey, Def Leppard, Foreigner, Jefferson Starship, Twisted Sister and Poison.  The nostalgia, at least for me and probably my generation, is winning over the cheese factor so far. Perhaps because I lived through it, the big hair, spandex, padded shoulders and garish colors don’t cross the line into parody. The Bourbon Room is obviously The Whiskey, Catherine Zeta Jones and her band of manicured over-privileged housewives is obviously Tipper Gore’s Parents Music Resource Center (PMRC), but Stacee Jaxx could be any number of hard-partying rock icons. Probably a little bit of Axl Rose, a little bit of Bret Michaels, a soupcon of Vince Neill, a dash of Tommy Lee, and a dollop of David Lee Roth would be my guess.

Gotta love the monkey, especially since it’s doing the spanking. *cough*

Rock of Ages opens June 1 in the US and 8^th June in the UK. More to follow I’m sure.

While I am STILL mourning the loss of Julianne Hough as a regular on Dancing With The Stars, (although I'm making progress with the headline) she has moved on and is headlining the remake of Footloose which hits theatres today. The movie is getting a lot of great buzz and some not-so-great buzz, but that`s the way it goes right?

Julianne Hough dons the daisy dukes on the cover of November's SELF Magazine where she talks dance, exercise and of course Footloose. And she says (which shocked me) that although her brother Derek Hough is the best dancer, Tom Cruise gives him a run for his money! Imagine that, Tom Cruise is probably twice Derek's age! You go Tommy.

Here are some excerpts from the magazine interview:

"There is something so rewarding about dancing. It's almost spiritual-you let loose, you feel free, you get endorphins from the exercise. Acting is like free therapy! Trying to make people laugh or cry can be inspiring. Dancing and acting satisfy me in different ways."

"I feel sexy when I'm taking care of myself and not depriving myself."

"Rollerblading is a serious leg workout! When I have a day off, I want to be outside-unless I'm on my bed with my dogs watching an SVU marathon!

"As a teen, I wanted to break free like Ariel in Footloose. My dad is protective. He texts, 'Right place, right time, doing the right thing?' That's still his way of checking in on me."

"I vary my workouts every day because, otherwise, I get bored. I always try to run for 20 to 40 minutes on the beach first. Six days a week is fantastic, but four is great, too."

My go-to pre-bikini flat-ab move is the plank, all different types.

Julianne Hough's career has been on fire since she left Dancing With The Stars, but she's returning to the DWTS dance floor on Tuesday, October 11 which is just days before her film Footloose opens in theatres (October 14).

So while it's a reunion of sorts to be back on the Dancing With The Stars dance floor, and myself and I know a lot of you would LOVE for her to be back on the show, her movie career is way too hot. This visit is obviously to promote Footloose:

"I'll be dancing with Kenny (Wormald, her co-star who fills Kevin Bacon's shoes as Ren). We will definitely be dancing to Footloose, but we will have a few tricks up our sleeves in the beginning."

Russell Brand and Julianne Hough are teaming up again (they are currently working on Rock of Ages together) to star in Diablo Cody's (Juno, United States of Tara) directorial debut in a film that previously was called Lamb of God. I love, love, LOVE everything Diablo Cody's done. This is one fierce and talented woman who is going to be around for years.

This fabulous news has been confirmed by the man who will be producing the film, Mason Novick. The Mandate Pictures film will also see Diablo in the writer's seat (she is an incredible writer) as well as being one of the executive producers.

According to EW Julianne Hough plays a woman who questions her religious beliefs after being involved in a plane crash and living to tell about it and decides to head on over to Las Vegas for a life of sin. Along the way she meets Russell Brand's character who helps her find her way. I would pay to have Russell Brand help me find my way.

As this is in the very early stages of pre-production no word yet on when it will be released but you can be rest-assured we will be giving you the scoop because my lust for Russell Brand has only just begun.

Bikini babe Julianne Hough frolics on the beach with Rock of Ages costar Diego Boneta as they film scenes in Hollywood, Florida. She seriously has an amazing body and I have to imagine that Diego gave his agent a bonus over and above the regular 10% for this gig.

Hough, 22 plays Sherrie Christian, a small-town girl who, at the height of the 80′s rock and roll scene arrives in Hollywood. Boneta 20, plays Drew Boley, the love interest of Hough’s character. Judging by these photos there is a lot of love. And by love I mean sexual chemistry.

I bet Ryan Seacrest weeps next time he gets his manicure.

Julianne Hough graces the cover of the May issue of Women’s Health magazine where she rocks some Daisy Dukes and dishes about her days at Dancing With The Stars, including who her favourite partner was during her time with the hit ABC show as well as if she is ready for children or not!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I really wish that Julianne would return to Dancing With The Stars, but I really don’t think that is happening any time soon.

Julianne on her favorite “Dancing with the Stars” partner of all time…

“I hope my partners don’t get mad at this but Apollo is probably my favorite because he was my first partner. You know, it was my first time. I got three tens for the first time, got to do the Pasa Doble for the first time and just experience everything for the first time so [Apollo] was definitely my favorite.”

Julianne on who she thinks would be great on DWTS…

“There are so many people that could be great on ‘Dancing with the Stars.’ Justin Timberlake would not be a bad dancing partner!”

A family is in her future…

“I’m starting to be more passionate about [eating natural foods]. I don’t want to have kids anytime soon, but when I do, I want my body to be healthy”

On staying fit while she’s on the road…

“It’s so hard to stay fit while you’re travelling, but for me it always makes me feel better on the inside if I’ve worked out.”

“Growing up, I could eat anything, but the minute I hit 22, I stopped dancing and kept eating whatever I wanted, and I gained weight. Then I started reading [critical] comments in blogs. That freaks you out and you get caught up in it. But if I deprive myself, I end up binge eating. I didn’t want to do that. Now if I want something, I’ll have it and I won’t feel guilty. Then the next day I won’t crave it.”

Taylor Swift’s gown at last night’s 2011 Academy of Country Music Awards was gorgeous. She looked like a princess, but a not-so-happy princess in the photos. She really isn’t smiling so much.

Julianne Hough also looked gorgeous but went for the va-va-voom sexy look with a backless coral-coloured dress.

The ladies of the red carpet at the 2011 Academy of Country Music Awards, for the most part, were gorgeous. The men? Well, some of them had very interesting outfits like Ira Dean, but some of them like Keith Urban managed to look very hot. But then again, Keith Urban always does look hot. He could show up on the red carpet in sweat pants with the elasticized bottoms and he would still probably look hot. Wife, Nicole Kidman was by his side and as per usual, these two looked very smitten and happy to be together. I love it!

Season 12 of Dancing With The Stars hasn’t even started and I’m already missing Derek Hough. I KNOW I’m not alone in that sentiment. Besides being a superb dancer, he has personality plus and I think that’s what I’m going to miss the most.

First his sister, Julianne Hough leaves and says it’s only for a season (she’s yet to come back), then Edyta leaves. However with Edyta it’s a safe bet she is never coming back because she was pretty pissed with the producers of DWTS and how they saw her career versus how she intended her career to go.

And now Derek is leaving us for a season. Let’s hope it’s just one season (for purely selfish reasons of course). In the meantime,  we get to watch Derek teach his moves in Las Vegas at the Palms Casino to local students where fellow DWTS’ pro Kym Johnson joins him.
