Tell Us Your Fantasy Colin Farrell and We Will Give You the Memory

Two Very Cool Posters for Total Recall Ask What is Real?

There’s a brand new tv spot for Len Wiseman’s remake of Total Recall starring Colin Farrell, Jessica Biel and Wiseman’s wife and muse, Kate Beckinsale.  I still maintain this could be a fun summer escape. For my money, it’s light-years ahead of the Schwarzenegger original. Colin Farrell 1. can act  2. is certainly easier to understand than Arnie (not to mention better looking). Those things bring the cheese factor way down. What levels the playing field is the fact that Wiseman can be as equally pedestrian as Verhoeven. So we’ll see. (Thanks to ComingSoon for the clip)

“Total Recall is an action thriller about reality and memory, inspired anew by the famous short story “We Can Remember It For You Wholesale” by Philip K. Dick. Welcome to Rekall, the company that can turn your dreams into real memories. For a factory worker named Douglas Quaid (Colin Farrell), even though he’s got a beautiful wife (Kate Beckinsale) who he loves, the mind-trip sounds like the perfect vacation from his frustrating life – real memories of life as a super-spy might be just what he needs. But when the procedure goes horribly wrong, Quaid becomes a hunted man. Finding himself on the run from the police – controlled by Chancellor Cohaagen (Bryan Cranston), the leader of the free world – Quaid teams up with a rebel fighter (Jessica Biel) to find the head of the underground resistance (Bill Nighy) and stop Cohaagen. The line between fantasy and reality gets blurred and the fate of his world hangs in the balance as Quaid discovers his true identity, his true love, and his true fate.”

The script is co-written by Kurt Wimmer (Law Abiding Citizen), Mark Bomback (Unstoppable), and the increasingly sought-after James Vanderbilt (The Amazing Spider-Man). It also stars Ethan Hawke, John Cho and Bokeem Woodbine.

Total Recall will be released in the US  on August 3 and 22nd August in the UK.

Biel, Beckinsale and Farrell Get a Little Action: Pics from Total Recall

Biel, Beckinsale and Farrell Get a Little Action: Pics from Total Recall

Who wants some Colin Farrell this Monday morning? *raises hand* I do! I do!  Well, since I try to make myself happy whenever possible, it just so happens that we have some (and I may even be back with more later).  Here are some new images of Colin with Jessica Biel and Kate Beckinsale in these nifty stills from Total Recall.

Total Recall is an action thriller about reality and memory, inspired anew by the famous short story “We Can Remember It For You Wholesale” by Philip K. Dick. Welcome to Rekall, the company that can turn your dreams into real memories. For a factory worker named Douglas Quaid (Farrell), even though he's got a beautiful wife (Beckinsale) who heloves, the mind-trip sounds like the perfect vacation from his frustrating life – real memories of life as a super-spy might be just what he needs. But when the procedure goes horribly wrong, Quaid becomes a hunted man. Finding himself on the run from the police – controlled by Chancellor Cohaagen (Bryan Cranston), the leader of the free world – Quaid teams up with a rebel fighter (Biel) to find the head of the underground resistance (Nighy) and stop Cohaagen. The line between fantasy and reality gets blurred and the fate of his world hangs in the balance as Quaid discovers his true identity, his true love, and his true fate.

The pics don’t really tell us anything we didn’t already know from the pics, clips and trailers we’ve already been given.  Beckinsale is full of rage and murderous intent, Biel is on Farrell’s side and knows how to handle a weapon. Colin gets to do damage to some storm troopers. The movie actually looks a lot more exciting than these pics would indicate. Mr. Beckinsale, Le Wiseman directs from a script by Mark Bomback (Unstoppable), James Vanderbilt (The Amazing Spider-Man 2) and Kurt Wimmer (Law Abiding Citizen).

Total Recall also stars Bryan Cranston, John Cho, Bokeem Woodbine, Ethan Hawke and Bill Nighy. It opens August 3 in the US and Canada and 22nd August in the UK

What to Watch: What's New on DVD and Blu-ray the Week of May 8

The big one this week may be The Vow wherein Channing Tatum-tot gets his heart-throb on with the always adorable Rachel McAdams. Or, it could be Underworld: Awakening with Kate Beckinsale, depending on your perspective.

The Vow,  is a romantic drama “inspired by true events”,  Tatum plays Leo, who is faced with unthinkable heartache when his wife, Paige (Rachel McAdams), recovers from a tragic accident without any memory of their relationship. The Vow follows Leo as he keeps his promise to win Paige's heart all over again.

To go along with the the DVD and Blu-ray release, Screen Gems has released a new trailer with some of the more memorable scenes from the film. Tatum is up for the MTV Movie Award for Best Male Performance. The onscreen chemistry between Tatum and McAdams earned them a nomination for Best Kiss.

Special Features:

-Deleted Scenes
-Gag Reel
-Director's Commentary

Underworld: Awakening sees leather-clad Kate Beckinsale return to the dark blue world of Vampires and Lycans in the latest installment of the franchise (with the gratitude of fan boys everywhere) as the vampire Selene and the ad campaign has focused on her character so much that the actual title might as well be "Underworld: The Return of Selene", with the directors admitting that this new film’s ending "is totally leaving the door open for a future".  The film was directed by Mans Marlind and Bjorn Stein (The director of the first two, Len Wiseman returns as a producer. He’s also one of four credited writers) and also stars Michael Ealy, Theo James, Stephen Rae, Charles Dance and Sandrine Holt.

Tim & Eric’s Billion Dollar Movie is an all new feature film from the twisted minds of cult comedy heroes Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim ("Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job")! Tim and Eric are given a billion dollars to make a movie, but squander every dime… and the sinister Schlaaang corporation is pissed. Their lives at stake, the guys skip town in search of a way to pay the money back. When they happen upon a chance to rehabilitate a bankrupt mall full of vagrants, bizarre stores and a man-eating wolf that stalks the food court, they see dollar signs-a billion of them. Featuring cameos from Awesome Show regulars and some of the biggest names in comedy today! Also stars John C. Reilly, Zach Galifianakis, Jeff Goldblum, Will Forte, Ray Wise, William Atherton, Robert Loggia, Will Ferrell

Gremlins 2: The New Batch is the follow up feature to the cult hit Gremlins, but it is NOT a sequel. Billy Peltzer and Kate Beringer move to New York City and meet up with their Mogwai friend, Gizmo, when a series of accidents creates a new generation of diverse gremlins. Billy, Kate, and Gizmo must once again use all their experience to prevent another catastrophe.

Just when they thought they were safe, young sweethearts Billy (Zach Galligan) and Kate (Phoebe Cates) from Joe Dante's GREMLINS have moved on to the Big Apple, landed jobs in a high-tech office park, and have met up with Gizmo once again. When a series of accidents creates a whole new generation of Gremlins, the three pals must use everything they know to prevent another comic catastrophe. The monsters wreck havoc at Clamp Industries, the "smart building" where Billy and Kathy work, creating madness and mayhem for the Donald Trump-like owner, Daniel Clamp (John Glover), who sees the invasion as yet another opportunity for media attention. But, when the monsters invade "Splice of Life," the top-secret genetics laboratory housed at Clamp Industries, the Gremlins develop new genetically altered powers that make them even harder to destroy. This highly inventive sequel to GREMLINS, successfully combines wicked horror and dark humor in an outrageous and eerily realistic post modern setting.

Cameo appearances by screenwriter, Charlie Haas, as Casper; composer Jerry Goldsmith as a customer at the frozen yogurt counter; and real-life movie critic Leonard Maltin, as himself (on the cable access show "Movie Police", he is giving the original GREMLINS a bad review). Cameo appearance by SNL's Julia Sweeney as the receptionist at "Splice of Life." Two different versions of the film were made, one for theatrical release and one for video. In the theatrical version the film appears to begin to burn, in the video release the segment simulates a broken VCR.

Special Blu-Ray Features:

-Over 20 Minutes of Footage Not Seen In Theaters
-Behind-The-Scenes Documentary
-Commentary By Director Joe Dante, Actor Zach Galligan, Writer Charlie Haas and Producer Michael Finnell
-Gag Reel
-Alternate Home Video Sequence
-Theatrical Trailer

La Haine - 1995 (Criterion Collection)

Mathieu Kassovitz (The Crimson Rivers) took the film world by storm with La haine (Hate), a gritty, unsettling, and visually explosive look at racial and cultural volatility in modern-day France, specifically the low-income banlieues on Paris's outskirts. Aimlessly passing their days in the concrete environs of their dead-end suburbia, Vinz (Irreversible's Vincent Cassel), Hubert (The Constant Gardener's Hubert Kound‚), and Sa‹d (Three Kings' Sa‹d Taghmaoui) – white, black, and Arab – give human faces to France's immigrant and otherwise marginalized populations, their resentment at their situation simmering until it reaches a boiling point. A work of tough beauty, La haine is a landmark of contemporary French cinema and a gripping reflection of its country's ongoing identity crisis

-Restored high-definition digital transfer, supervised by director Mathieu Kassovitz, with 5.1 surround DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack

-English-language audio commentary by Kassovitz

-Introduction by actor Jodie Foster

-Ten Years of “La haine,” an eighty-minute documentary that brings together cast and crew a decade after the film’s landmark release

-Deleted and extended scenes, each featuring an afterword by Kassovitz

This Week’s Fabulous Fashionistas Are: Mena Suvari, Tara Reid & More

This Week's Fabulous Fashionistas Are: Mena Suvari, Tara Reid & More

All eyes are on Taylor Schilling as she attended the premiere of her latest film, The Lucky One at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, CA on April 16, 2012.  Taylor was picture perfect in this gorgeous Calvin Klein Resort 2012 black halter dress with sterling silver (you heard right) neckline complimented by sterling silver cuff and clutch, also by Calvin Klein.  Adding to her perfection was Taylor's simple, yet elegant updo.  But what I like most about this look are her come-hither-me smoky eyes, which make those beautiful baby blues pop!  Doesn't she have the most gorgeous blue eyes?  Great look!

This Week's Fabulous Fashionistas Are: Mena Suvari, Tara Reid & More

Doing what she does best, looking flawless, Kate Beckinsale casts a spell at the Total Recall photo call held at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Cancun, Mexico on April 17, 2012.  Kate wowed the crowd in a J. Mendel dress with a leather asymmetrical neckline and thigh-high split flaunting her enviable pins.  Kate complimented her look with Nicholas Kirkwood pumps and earrings by Broken English, wearing her beautiful highlighted voluminous tresses loosely, the crowning glory to her look.  It's official.  Mexico has declared April 17 National Kate Beckinsale Day!

This Week's Fabulous Fashionistas Are: Mena Suvari, Tara Reid & More

A vision in white is former Victoria's Secret Angel Rosie Huntington-Whiteley as she strikes a pose at the New York premiere of boyfriend Jason Statham's new movie Safe on April 16, 2012.  Rosie looked stunning in this heavenly brocade halter dress with tulip skirt by the Andrew Gn Spring 2012 Collection, adding just the right amount of pizzazz with blue and white floral Brian Atwood, sealing the deal with a gold clutch by Diane von Furstenberg and Miriam Haskell teardrop earrings.  By the way, to add to your fashionista vocabulary, brocade is a class of richly decorative woven fabrics, often in silk.  It comes from the Italian word broccato meaning "embossed cloth" dating back to the Middle Ages, which became the most desired fabric during the Italian Renaissance.  You learn something new every day, right?

This Week's Fabulous Fashionistas Are: Mena Suvari, Tara Reid & More

Tara Reid continues her stylish makeover by bringing Hollywood glamour to the Ireland premiere of American Reunion at the Savoy in Dublin, Ireland on April 18, 2012.  Tara wore a simple yet elegant midnight blue gown with jewel embellished neckline, avoiding any overkill of accessories.  Tara's been nailing the red carpet lately at the American Reunion premieres, which has made her a frequent Fashionista here at ineedmyfix.com.  No word yet on any the designers of her gowns at the premieres.  Nevertheless, whoever they are, she looks fabulous!

This Week's Fabulous Fashionistas Are: Mena Suvari, Tara Reid & More

Also bringing glamour to the American Reunion premiere this week was its other co-star Mena Suvari.  Mena was the lady in red in a befitting flamenco-inspired dress by the Tadashi Shoji Fall 2012 Collection for the Madrid screening of the movie at the Villa Magna Hotel on April 19, 2012.  Mena's tiny frame carries the heavily detailed red and black lace-embroidered dress with tiered hem very well without it overpowering her, definitely making her the belle of the ball!  Fashion wise, Mena is having one very impressive American Reunion red carpet event after another.  Keep those A.R. premieres coming!

That's it for another week kittens.  Hope you enjoyed my picks.  Have a fabulous weekend fashionistas and until next time, love, peace and happiness.

Kate Beckinsale Tries to Kill Colin Farrell in This One Too

Kate Beckinsale Tries to Kill Colin Farrell in This One Too

Okay, so we’ve seen the domestic version of the trailer for Len Wiseman’s Total Recall remake, now watch the Japanese version. They start out the same, but then this new one just slaps you upside the head and pours on the action. I have to say, I love Colin Farrell kicking the crap out of a bunch of refuges from Star Wars and the dropping the gun like “whoa…where the f*ck did that come from?” that appears in both versions.

There is enough in both of these trailers that is similar to the 1990 Verhoeven edition of Total Recall to give you a sense of the story, but of course it’s completely punched up and adrenalized for a 2012 audience.  Len Wiseman doesn’t do subtle so I think whatever the story holds we can expect to be hit between the eyes with the action. Is this thing in 3D? No? I’m shocked, but in that case, at least that’s all we’ll be hit with.

Total Recall also stars Bryan Cranston, John Cho, Bokeem Woodbine, Ethan Hawke and Bill Nighy. It opens August 3 in the US and Canada and 22nd August in the UK

Peep These Pics While You Eat Your Leftover Peeps

Peep These Pics While You Eat Your Leftover Peeps

Yesterday we filled your Easter basket with new posters. Today, while you’re still gnawing the heads off your chocolate bunnies, we’ve got pics for you to peruse, including two first looks and two new images from films we’re looking forward to.

First up, a pic from Wes Anderson’s eagerly awaited Moonrise Kingdom, the film set to open the Cannes Film Festival next month. In the style of a family reunion or class picture, it gives us a look at all of the major characters, all in one place. (thanks to IndieWire)

Set on an island off the coast of New England in the 1960s, as a young boy and girl fall in love they are moved to run away together. Various factions of the town mobilize to search for them and the town is turned upside down — which might not be such a bad thing.

Moonrise Kingdom stars Edward Norton, Bruce Willis, Frances McDormand, Bill Murray, Tilda Swinton, Harvey Keitel, Jason Schwartzman and Bob Balaban. It opens for us regular folks in the US and the UK on May 25.

Rust & Bone is writer/director Jacques Audiard’s first film since 2009’s BAFTA,Cesar and Cannes Film Festival Grand Jury Prize winning, A Prophet and stars Marion Cotillard. Rust & Bone is an adaptation of a collection of short stories by Craig Davidson, said to be take place in a savage world populated by fighting dogs, prizefighters, sex addicts, and gamblers.

This is what I was able to pull out of that.

This begins in the North. Ali meets with his 5 yr old son Sam, whom he barely knows. Homeless, broke and friendless, Ali finds shelter with his sister in Antibes. Over there, it is right away better, his sister, Stephanie Marion Cotillard) let’s them stay in her garage she is in charge of the baby and weather is nice. Following a fight in a nightclub, Stephanie(Cotillard), a whale trainer in Marineland, ends up in a wheelchair.  Stephanie, Ali and Sam will need each other, without pity, to get through the ordeal.

Audiard is an extremely talented filmmaker and I am very sure there is MUCH more to it than that. The official list of films showing at Cannes won’t come out for ten more days, but it’s a pretty safe bet Rust & Bone will be on it. No US or UK release dates are yet known.

The Campaign stars Will Ferrell (because we need as many Will Ferrell movies as we can possibly get**) and Zach Galifianakis. Directed by Jay Roach, responsible for the Austin Powers and Meet the Parents franchises, this is amazingly enough, his first collaboration with Ferrell.

Ferrell and Galifianakis are two rival North Carolina politicians with presidential aspirations. Really, what more needs to be said after that? The entire movie just played in my head and it only took about sixty seconds.

The Campaign does have a very good supporting cast including Jason Sudeikis, Brian Cox, Dylan McDermott, John Lithgow and Dan Ackroyd, so I guess there are reasons to see it and it could have some surprises in store. Since this is only the first look, I’m sure there will be much more to come before it is released August 10 here in the US and 28th September in the UK.

Here’s another look at Colin Farrell and Kate Beckinsale in Len Wiseman’s remake of Total Recall. The trailer we got last week was pretty impressive, in my humble opinion and I’m looking forward to seeing more. thanks to Lebanese Cinema Movie Guide via ComingSoon)

The plot this time adheres closer to Philip K. Dick’s short story, “We Can Remember it for You Wholesale” than the 1990 Paul Verhoeven version.

As the nation states Euromerica and New Shanghai vie for supremacy, a factory worker (Farrell) begins to suspect that he's a spy, though he is unaware which side of the fight he's on.

Also starring Jessica Biel, Beckinsale, Bryan Cranston, Bill Nighy, Ethan Hawke, John Cho and Bokeem Woodbine, Total Recall opens August 3 in the US and 22nd August in the UK.

Watch Colin Farrell Kick Some Ass in the First Full Length Trailer for Total Recall!

Two Very Cool Posters for Total Recall Ask What is Real?

The trailer for Len Wiseman’s remake of Total Recall is finally online! Now we finally get our first glimpse of Kate Beckinsale pulling a Sharon Stone on Colin Farrell as he acts rings around Arnold Schwarzenegger and still kicks major amounts of ass! Jessica Biel doesn’t have much to do in this but I think she’ll make a good Rachel Ticotin.

Total Recall is an action thriller about reality and memory, inspired anew by the famous short story “We Can Remember It For You Wholesale” by Philip K. Dick. Welcome to Rekall, the company that can turn your dreams into real memories. For a factory worker named Douglas Quaid (Farrell), even though he's got a beautiful wife (Beckinsale) who he loves, the mind-trip sounds like the perfect vacation from his frustrating life – real memories of life as a super-spy might be just what he needs. Joey Lawrence voice: “Whoa!”  That looks like all kinds of summer fun!  It’s too soon to tell whether or not this will be any good, but from the first look, there’s promise. I'm sure there is much more to come before the film's release.

Total Recall also stars Bryan Cranston, John Cho, Bokeem Woodbine, Ethan Hawke and Bill Nighy. It opens August 3 in the US and Canada and 22nd August in the UK
