Trailer, Poster and Images for Little Birds

This is the first trailer for the indie drama Little Birds. The film premiered way back at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival and has been looking for distribution ever since. It stars Juno Temple and Kay Panabaker as Lily and Alison, two young girls who leave home for LA, following some boys they’ve just met, only to discover that their depressed and depressing hometown and their own boredom may be better than trying to survive in a big city.
Juno Temple has become the new indie “It Girl”. She just premiered Jack and Diane at the Tribeca Film Festival (which was not very well received, unfortunately) and was last seen in The Three Musketeers. Since she made Little Birds, she’s also chalked up roles in Small Apartments (which premiered at SXSW), Killer Joe (which is still playing the festival circuit and will open in the US in July), Lovelace as well as a little film called The Dark Knight Rises.
Kyle Gallner, Kate Bosworth, and Leslie Mann round out the cast. The performances appear to be well nuanced and completely committed to the material, as they should be, since the fairly conventional story appears to hit all the familiar notes. Still, the film clearly shows off its rebellious spirit, and there's a chance it could extend to the overall pace, securing it a spot as a leading entry in the teen genre.
Little Birds is the feature debut of Elgin James, former member of a Boston street gang that just spent the last year in a LA detention center for something to do with extortion charges. He’s out now, just in time for his film to get a (limited) release from Millennium Entertainment on August 3.
