Always a hit on the red carpet, this time Elizabeth Hurley dazzles the pink carpet at The Breast Cancer Research Foundation's 'Hot Pink Party' at The Waldorf Astoria in NYC on April 30, 2012.  No surprises here.  The model/actress was breathtaking in a dusty pink floor-sweeping shimmering gown from the Jack Guisso Spring/Summer 2012 Couture Collection.  The beadwork on the gown is exquisite, transitioning into linear patterns that hug her in all the right places, showing off her most enviable figure.  The Hot Pink Party is a cause close to Elizabeth's heart as she lost her beloved grandmother to breast cancer.  Wednesday night's event raised over $5 million dollars for breast cancer research!  Hats off to Ms. Hurley and all of those who have donated their time and money to this much needed cause!

How does one make an entrance when arriving at one of the most glamorous events of the year in Washington?  For Ivanka Trump, it was effortless.  The former model and now businesswoman served up a jaw-dropping moment in a Naeem Khan Fall 2011 silver sequined gown with cap sleeves and a plunging neckline that screamed "And this folks, is how it's done", when she arrived at the 2012 White House Correspondents' Association Dinner on April 28, 2012 in Washington, D.C.  Ivanka accessorized perfectly with a linked bracelet, hooped earrings and metallic clutch.  All I can say is, "Wow!"  Are you loving this look as much as I am?  A definite contender for our top picks of the year!

And no White House Correspondents' Association Dinner would be complete without the most beautiful and brightest television journalist in attendance.  In fact, the doors don't open until she arrives!  Anchor Diane Sawyer brought chic and sophistication to the red carpet at the event in a black asymmetrical cut-out shoulder jersey knit dress accessorized with gold clutch, black peep-toes, gold earrings and a most stunning gold wrap.  No word on who the designer of the dress is; however, my fashion radar is hovering over the Donna Karan label.  

Adding a splash of colour at the 2012 White House Correspondents' Association Dinner red carpet was actress Kate Hudson who was stunning in a 60's inspired look in a purple sequined Jenny Packham gown featuring long sleeves and wide oval neckline.  Kate sealed it with a black clutch by Edie Parker, simple earrings and hair pulled into a high bun.  The dress fits Kate like a glove and its colour is as dazzling as she is.  Definitely one of the best looks of the night.  Washington will never be the same!

Actress Charlize Theron also graced the red carpet at the 2012 White House Correspondents' Association Dinner in an Emilio Pucci Pre-Fall 2012 gown fit for a queen.  The all-lace dress fitted over nude lining features scalloped edged neckline, sleeves and flared hem.  Wisely, given the detail of the dress, Charlize wore her hair back in a simple bun with minimal jewellery, completing the look with Manolo Blanhik shoes and Judith Leiber clutch.  I'm quite looking forward to seeing Charlize in her upcoming film, Snow White and the Huntsman, in which she plays the evil Queen.  Now that's one role that's going to take some convincing.  

Not one to shy away from colour, Elizabeth Banks stands out in a bright red strapless Antonio Berardi Fall 2012 gown on the red carpet at the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner.  The gown features a diagonally pleated peplum, slight train and cinched waist which emphasizes Elizabeth's svelte figure.  To complete her look, Elizabeth opted for a gold cuff bracelet, diamond hoop earrings, red platform heels and Lara Bohnic black and gold clutch.  Who said you couldn't wear red on the red carpet?

No leg baring antics here!  Also bringing glamour to Washington this week was Elle Macpherson.  Elle was nothing less than stunning in a gorgeous strapless silk organza and silk crepe Romona Keveza Fall 2012 couture gown which featured a pleated bodice neckline and a now-and-wow asymmetrical peplum.  This is an absolutely stunning gown and no one could be more perfect to wear it than Elle Macpherson.  In fact, it earns two pictures.  Elle completed her look with black pumps and clutch, diamond bracelets and chandelier-style diamond earrings.  (Who was that leg-flashing actress at the 2012 Oscars?  Oh, never mind.)  Definitely one of the Elle's best looks.  

Completing this week's Fabulous Fashionistas is Reese Witherspoon.  The mommy-to-be brought Old Hollywood Glamour to Saturday's star-studded Washington gala in a Monique Lhuillier Spring 2012 gown which featured an asymmetrical neckline.  Reese completed her look with turquoise Irene Neuwirth earrings and cocktail ring and a 40's inspired side swept do in soft curls.  You can hardly tell that Reese is expecting in this gown.  And even if you could, I'm sure she'd be the most stunning expectant mommy on the red carpet.  Love this retro look on Reese; she suits it so well!

I have the sneaking suspicion there’s a reason that I had never heard of this movie, until the studio started rolling out the pre-release publicity. A Little Bit of Heaven stars Kate Hudson as an escapee from a Lifetime tv movie, one of those free-spirits with a dreaded disease.  She’s got the pre-requisite group of close, quirky friends and of course the gorgeous love interest whom she doesn’t meet and fall in love with her until after she’s sick. In this case it’s her doctor, played by Gael Garcia Bernal.

Synopis:

A LITTLE BIT OF HEAVEN is a love story set in New Orleans about an irreverent young woman who unexpectedly falls in love with her doctor.

Marley Corbett (Kate Hudson) is young, beautiful, and wildly funny, but she’s afraid of opening herself up to true love and commitment. Though she uses her humor to prevent matters from getting serious, a life-changing visit to her doctor (Gael Garcia Bernal) sends both of them on an eye-opening adventure of mutual discovery, leading to revelations neither thought possible.

Academy Award® nominee Kate Hudson is joined by Academy Award® winners Kathy Bates and Whoopi Goldberg, as well as Gael Garcia Bernal (“Letters to Juliet”), Lucy Punch (“Dinner for Schmucks”), Romany Malco (“The 40 Year Old Virgin”), Rosemarie DeWitt (“Rachel Getting Married”), Steven Weber (“My One And Only”) and Treat Williams (“What Happens in Vegas”). The film is directed by Nicole Kassell (“The Woodsman”) from an original screenplay by Gren Wells.

The only thing that makes sense about this is the presence of Kate Hudson who had her one good role with Almost Famous and has been hanging on by her fingernails ever since.  What the hell are the rest of these people doing in this movie? Peter Dinklage? Because this was filmed in early 2010 before Game of Thrones made him a household name. Who's Whoopi Goldberg supposed to be, an angel? Am I simply too jaded to get the subtleties at play here? Watch the trailer and you decide.

Here’s the other reason I don’t have a lot of hope for this movie: It was released last year everywhere else in the world but the US where Kate Hudson is supposedly “a star”. A Little Bit of Heaven opens in US theaters and VOD on May 4^th (opposite The Avengers. I suppose this is what is known as counter-programming), but before that, on Ultra VOD April 3.

I'm going to guess that judging by the plastic bag Muse man,  Matt Bellamy is rocking on his head, that he's sending out a message to the paparazzi that are following him and Kate Hudson around North London? Or he's lost his freaking mind.

While he has poked out a hole for ONE eye, I don't see any holes for breathing. Safety first, Matt! How good an idea is it that these two had a baby? I dunno now with 'no air hole' and all.

And seeing that a picture is worth a thousands words, these pictures are worth a whole lot of words. Let’s dissect and analyze the sh*t out of them, shall we?

Kate Hudson to Play Linda Lovelace

Take the pictures of them in the car (actually it almost looks like public transit, but whatever). Not only are they not sitting close together (and they have mucho opportunity given it’s a bench and not bucket seat), they don’t seem to even be looking at each other. Unless of course you consider the look of contempt she gives him. He looks constipated.

Now we move on to them exiting the vehicle. Do you LOVE the way he holds the door open for her? What a gentleman. This is the woman who is pregnant with his child. My husband would be carrying me around. Oh wait a minute, he’s fixed. We would be having a very different type of encounter. Anyhoo it looks like him leaving the door open, and it NOT slamming shut on her, is an afterthought and perhaps a tad inconvenient.

And finally the walk of shame to the restaurant. I say walk of shame because the tension is so thick you can gut it with a knife. It’s awkward. Not for them, but for me to look at these. I’m embarrassed for them. They are not royalty, not even close. Yet she walks several feet behind him. She looks cold, and she’s pregnant and you would never know they were together if you didn’t know who they were.

Every couple has their days, but some relationships move too fast too soon and fizzle out just as quickly. I wonder if this is that type of relationship? I don’t care for Kate Hudson. Totally judgmental of me, I know. But I don’t care.

My spidey senses tell me she’s not a very nice girl. And not very genuine. And then there is her track record with men. She comes across as desperate. I have to wonder if these pictures are the dawning of her desperation to Matt. Wouldn’t you be pissed? Meow.

Kate Hudson is working her baby bump and doing the usual celebrity stuff.  But she might also be dabbling in porn.  Not like that though.

She has been offered the title role in Lovelace.  This a biopic film about porn star Linda Lovelace.   James Franco is starring as pornographer Chuck Traynor.

Goldie Hawn’s Ex To Write Explosive Tell-All

Now I can toally see James pulling this one off.  In fact, it’s right up his alley…. no pun intended.

I think she’ll take it.  They’ll just have to hold off filming until the baby arrives.

You know what I think is funny?  That they are making another Lovelace film.  The fact the Malin Akerman is starring in a similar movie, about the same person…. I don’t know.  It’s just odd.

Goldie Hawn’s ex, who also happens to be Kate Hudson’s father, Bill Hudson is tired of the rumours that he was a deadbeat dad and is spilling his guts in what is being called an explosive tell-all book.

Bill and Goldie divorced in 1979 and he claims she limited access to their children and not that he was an absentee father. The two met in 1975 and once made love for 12 hours in which she confessed she was seeing another man:

“You’re my soul mate . . . it’s just that I’ve always believed in open marriage.”

He also claims:

“We made love everywhere . . . airplane bathrooms, rooftops, under the covers in first-class . . . just any and every place we could find.”

I think I just threw up a little in my mouth, but I’m aight.  He also says that Kate is a liar-pants:

“Kate has used the story of her being abandoned by me because she needed tragedy in her life. She grew up privileged in Hollywood with private planes. Nobody was going to sympathize unless she had some tragedy.”

That part wouldn’t surprise me, but who knows if any of this is true. He may be in desperate need for some money, or maybe he has, in fact, tired of all the lies.

He contradicts his earlier claim that she believed in open marriages when he claims George Segal told him he tried to flirt with Goldie but she turned him down:

“You must be pretty special to her because everybody knows Goldie’s always up for a good time.”

Such male ego. Perhaps she just wasn’t into George Segal? Or maybe there is truth to that.

The New York post:

Diane Nine, Bill’s agent, said, “We are meeting with publishers next week. But the proposal is quite explosive. What he really wants is a relationship with his children and he hopes this will help.” Reps for Goldie and Kate didn’t get back to us.

Call me loco, but I don’t think writing this book is his way of having a relationship with his children. What do you think of these claims by Bill Hudson?

Last night marked the 20th Anniversary of Glamour Women of the Year Awards which took place  in New York.  Cher won the Lifetime Achievement Award and it’s no wonder.

Cher Is Going Back On Tour

She has an Oscar, a Grammy and an Emmy not to mention a career that spans 45 years.  What a lot of people may not know about her is her tireless humanitarian efforts such as helping to build a school in Kenya for Orphans and working with The Heroes Project to ensure soldiers’ headgear is more blast-resistant .

What’s next for Cher? Directing a film and doing some Broadway! Kelly Osbourne was thrilled to meet her last night and Tweeted:

I am lost for words at how beautiful @cher still is…. Damn she is one hot bitch!!!!

Kate Hudson and her boyfriend of six months Muse rocker Matthew Bellamy were seen shopping very recently shopping for an engagement ring in New York. How true this rumour is I don’t know, but it’s out there.

The two are apparently quite smitten with one another and judging from these pictures from ELLE’s 17th Annual Women in Hollywood Tribute at The Four Seasons Hotel on October 18, 2010 in Beverly Hills, California, I would say so.

His body language is screaming ‘I want to take you right here, right now‘.  This guy is very taken with Kate Hudson.  I don’t understand it.  Don’t get me wrong, she’s very pretty and seems nice enough and all, but for some reason she irritates my bowels. I think the irritation started when she was married to Chris Robinson and it’s just gotten more inflamed over time. She struck me as being very clingy and suffocating in a very needy kind of way.

“Marriage is definitely not something I’m looking for. But the divorce doesn’t put me off. I believe that when you really open yourself up to love, it’s the most beautiful thing.”

Blah, blah, blah.  This is what I really hear:  A-Rod got away, but I’m not letting this one.  I will just be more subtle about my clingy ways.  I’ll play hard to get this time. Yes! That’s what I’ll do.
