It was date night for Gwen Stefani and hubby Gavin Rossdale as they made their way onto the red carpet at the Heart Foundation Gala held at the Hollywood Palladium in L.A. on Thursday, May 10.  Gavin was his dapper self in a black two-piece silk suit as he escorted wife Gwen who was the epitome of beauty and elegance in a Georges Chakra Fall 2010 Couture dress that featured a one-shoulder asymmetrical bodice with sequin embellished bands.  Gwen completed her look with black satin Louboutin pumps, pink clutch and her signature red lips.  This old Hollywood look is fabulous on Gwen.  I hope she wears more of it.  What do you think?

Another couple hitting the red carpet also on May 10 were newlyweds Natalie Portman and hubby Benjamin Millepied.  The lovebirds attended the New York City Ballet's 2012 Spring Gala at the David H. Koch Theatre, Lincoln Centre in NYC to celebrate Benjamin's new dance company.  Always a red carpet winner, Thursday night was no different as Natalie was stunning in a dark blue Christian Dior silk chiffon tiered gown with black ribbon detailing around the waist and neckline.  Natalie completed her look with Dior Fine Jewelry earrings and a black Dior clutch.  Natalie is one of those celebs who you always look forward to seeing on the red carpet.  Her look is so refined and elegant and is reminiscent to that of Audrey Hepburn.  

Having just celebrated her first wedding anniversary, Catherine, The Duchess of Cambridge was glowing in a show-stopping long-sleeved cream Roland Mouret dress when she and hubby William were guests at a dinner hosted by the Thirty Club in Claridge's Hotel, Mayfair, London on Monday, May 7.  The dress features a dramatic front side split which showed off her strappy silver snake-skin Jimmy Choo heels.  The Duchess completed her look with a matching silver sequin clutch and a stunning pair of vintage style Eva diamond earrings from London-based Beaut.  The colour of the dress is beautiful on the Duchess as it compliments her lustrous chestnut tresses.  The dress and the shoes are quite a departure from what we're used to seeing the Duchess wearing and a very nice one, I might add. 

Attending the 2012 Operation Smile Gala at Cipriani Wall Street in NYC was Ivanka Trump who was stunning as she strikes a pose on the red carpet in a blue sapphire Salvatore Ferragamo jewelled silk sable gown from the designer's Women's Resort 2012 Collection.  The model turned businesswoman and new mother was among the many A-listers, including other Trump family members, who attended the non-profit organization's yearly event that provides free reconstructive surgery for children around the world born with facial deformities such as cleft lip and cleft palate. 

All eyes were on Michelle Pfeiffer who attended the Hollywood premiere of her latest film, Dark Shadows this past week at Grauman's Chinese Theatre.  The gorgeous actress wore a crinkled, burnished gold silk‑lamé Lanvin sheath accessorized with Sergio Rossi platform pumps, gold Bottega Veneta clutch and an antique-style Rona Pfeiffer necklace, which she wore in the movie.  This is a stunning colour on Michelle and looks like liquid gold was poured over her to match her skin tone.  On that note, I think it should be named Pfeiffer Gold.  What do you think?  Michelle plays family matriarch, Elizabeth Collins Stoddard, in the film which opened this week in theatres.  

Also attending the Hollywood premiere of Dark Shadows is Michelle Pfeiffer's co-star and former Bond Girl, Eva Green who casts a stunning silhouette of her own at the premiere.  The 31-year-old French-born beauty, who plays Angelique Bouchard in the film, slipped into this deep platinum number by the Tom Ford Fall 2011 Collection.  The all-lace dress features a high-neck and long sleeves and is embellished with jewel accents from head to toe.  The overall look is alluring, as are Eva's eyes.  Although Johnny Depp may have the leading role in the film, it appears that Michelle Pfeiffer and Eva Green stole the show on the red carpet.  

Her series may be over, but that didn't stop Eva Longoria from looking her best at a taping of The Late Show with David Letterman on May 9, 2012.  The actress is still smiling and looking beautiful as ever as she donned a black Victoria Beckham Spring 2012 dress that features dove gray back straps styled with a pair of pink metallic killer Brian Atwood platform stilettos with black and gold accents.  The shoes speak for themselves – naughty, but nice.  The series finale of Desperate Housewives can be seen tomorrow, Sunday, May 13.  But no worries here for Eva, as I'm sure her next television and/or movie role is right around the corner!

And completing this week's Fabulous Fashionistas on a sweet note is Modern Family star Julie Bowen who attended the P.L. Arts Evening of Modernism event in Santa Monica on May 4, 2012.  The actress looked lovely in a delicious chocolate brown strapless dress, pleated throughout, completing her look with David Yurman jewels, metallic clutch and pumps.  Yummy!  Don't you just want to crack open a box of chocolates?

Kate Middleton (or Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge as she is Royally known) hit the bar on Valentine's Day. But don't get your knickers in a knot because it's not just any bar (she IS a royal afterall)  it's the first non-alcoholic bar in Liverpool. The royal beauty can be seen leaving Brink Bar with a crowd of fans giving her Valentine's Day presents and flowers. 

She looks positively lovely in her brown coat, black stockings and shoes. She always looks so elegant, doesn't she? And approachable. She's real folk like you and I except we don't go to the Windsor Palace for Christmas.

She may be The Duchess of Cambridge but this week, she's also Queen of the Red Carpet.  Wearing a stunning strapless, fish-tailed, black velvet Alexander McQueen, the same designer of her wedding gown, Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge joined her dashing husband Prince William at the A Night of Heroes awards ceremony, which honored the extraordinary service men and women of the British military, at the Imperial War Museum in London, UK on December 19.  Kate accessorized her gown with a diamond and ruby star-burst necklace and matching earrings, with Prada pumps and clutch.  However, her most precious accessory of the evening was her beloved Prince William who also donned his finest black-tie attire.  The delicately ruffled sweetheart neckline is very flattering on Kate, and I especially love seeing her wear her hair down which frames her beautiful face.  Diana would have been proud.  Kate, keep that flame burning!

From dirty Harry does Vegas to handsome Harry honors Heroes.  Cutting a dashing figure in his finest black-tie apparel and looking every part the prince, Harry was also in the house at the A Night of Heroes awards ceremony in London, UK on December 19.  Don't you think he looks like a young James Bond making his way through Monte Carlo Casino?  (Think about it, Harry.)  Just a few weeks earlier, the 27-year-old thrill-seeking royal rented a Harley-Davidson Softail Classic (top right) in November on his day off from his eight-week helicopter training course in Imperial Valley, Arizona and decided to ride to Las Vegas (with his security team in the distance).  Back home in London, Harry owns a Ducati 848.  But this isn't all about motorbikes.  This is about a young – girls take note, available – Prince who looks as good cruising the Nevada desert on a Harley in blue jeans as he does wearing a tux.  And for that reason, Harry earns not one, but two spots in this week's fashionista line-up.  And Harry dear if you're reading this, please take no offense to any metaphors.  (After all … what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.)  Just sayin'. 

Also attending the A Night of Heroes awards ceremony in London, UK on December 19 were British singer-songwriter, dancer, model and television personality, Alesha Dixon, 33 and British actress, Catherine Tyldesley, 28.  Alesha leaves them breathless in this stunning strapless, mermaid style blush gown with just a slight train.  The artistry of the gown is captured in a rich texture of organza sculpted into a three-dimensional rose-like floral and abstract design arrangement scattered throughout the dress.  Completing her look, Alesha wears her hair in soft waves swept over to the side to create an overall glam look, not to mention, a glimpse of her jeweled drop-style earrings.  Catherine also makes a breathtaking impact as she opted for a chic and sophisticated look in an alluring one-shoulder midnight blue gown and looked every bit a Grecian goddess with her hair swept up into a refined chignon showing off her sun-kissed shoulders and drop-style earrings.  Two very captivating looks on one very unforgettable evening. 

They don`t call her the Queen for nothing.  Queen Latifah, 41, ruled the VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul event at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City this past week, and heated up the December night when she wore a slim custom royal blue crepe George Chakra Fall 2011 gown with a one-shoulder, crystal embellished neckline, which probably had every paparazzi on their knees crying, "We are not worthy!"  For all you Queen Latifah fans, the Queen will be starring in the upcoming musical film, Joyful Noise, which is scheduled to hit theatres on January 13, 2012.  The film is about two strong-minded women who are forced to cooperate when budget cuts threaten to shut down a small town choir, and my guess is that Queen Latifah is one of those two strong-minded women.  By the way, did you know that Queen Latifah works out with a trainer and kick boxes?  That`s right … don`t mess with royalty.

This almost wraps up my first year of fashion commentating here at ineedmyfix.com.  I thank you all for your viewership and comments.  It`s been, at the very least, a pleasure and I look forward to next year. 

Next week, I will be presenting my top picks for 2011 and I can assure you it won`t be easy.  Until then, I wish all of you the happiest of the holiday season.  Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Happy Kwanzaa.

This year will mark the first Christmas Prince William and Kate Middleton (The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge) will as husband and wife and to commemorate this blessed event, a one-of-a-kind tree ornament has been designed by June Branscombe and is based on the china pattern the royal couple had the final say in:

The 11cm porcelain oval displays the ornately intertwined initials of Catherine and William on the front, with the inscription 'Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, 29th April 2011.'  It is hand-finished in 22ct gold 

The Royal Crown Derby is selling this decoration for £85 (about $133 USD) and there will only be 1500 made available! I may try to get one but it will look a little out of place beside the Homer Simpson straddling a beer bottle decoration on my tree.

Royal Couple Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, and Prince William, Duke of Cambridge attended the opening of the new Oak Centre for Children and Young People at The Royal Marsden Hospital in Sutton, England yesterday.

This Royal couple are keeping with tradition in visiting the Oak Centre (William's mother, Princess Diana made a solo trip in 1982) and nothing was going to prevent them from doing so. Prince William had not had any sleep in the past 24 hours due to his RAF duties (he is working on a promotion to Captain).

Kate Middleton as always, was the picture of class, grace and elegance in her £450 Amanda Wakeley dress. She is such a perfect role model for the latest generation of Royals, isn't she? I LOVE this couple and I can't wait for them to have kids. They are going to be the greatest parents.

Hamley’s has recently unveiled their Prince William and Kate Middleton wedding dolls (the pair is yours for £100) that are sure to give you nightmares because they are something I have to guess  Tim Burton helped design.

Prince Williams looked like he soiled himself and is having an ‘oh nuts this has never happened to a Royal before’ moment (trust me if you say it in a British Royal accent it’s actually funny. Maybe). You know you are so mortified, but find it hysterical at the same time? You don’t know whether to laugh or fall into a heap of sobs.

Kate’s makeup is total overkill and her head is HUGE. Like a bobble-head. The dress is bang on, I have to admit.

If you hate your kids this is the perfect gift to give them nightmares. This toy is not recommended for kids under 14. No kidding.

As part of their North American tour, Kate Middleton and Prince William (the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge) landed in Los Angeles over the weekend where on Saturday they hosted the The Foundation Polo Challenge held at the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club.

William’s team (The Royal Salute) won the cup against the Audi team and Catherine (at this point I don’t know whether to call her Catherine, Kate, or Duchess so I’ll use each name at some point, at times) presented him with the Tiffany trophy.

I love me some Kate Middleton and Prince William. As everyone says, these are the accessible Royals. Goodness how times have changed!

After their very successful Canadian tour, Kate Middleton and Prince William (The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge) have touched down in Los Angeles where a crowd of fans were gathered to see them.

The Duchess wore, according to People, a pale lavender Peridot dress by Roksanda Illinic and looked lovely as per usual. With the camera adding 10 pounds that girl has the tiniest waist. I love her choice in outfits she has been wearing on this Royal Tour. Very classic, elegant and perfect for her.

They were greeted by California Gov. Jerry Brown, wife Anne Gust Brown, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and the British ambassador to the United States, Sir Nigel Sheinwald. Jerry Brown’s wife presented Kate with a red, white and blue bouquet of flowers.

The Royal couple were then driven to the Beverly Hilton. Today (Saturday) they are expected to compete in a tournament sponsored by Audi at the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club. The two will play on opposing teams as they did in Canada.

I love the athletic, competitive nature of these two. They are so real and down-to-earth, there is nothing pretentious about them despite being ‘Royals’.

Tonight they will be attending the British Academy of Film and Television Arts “Brits to Watch” event. I can’t wait to see her gown for this.
