Russell Brand is purging his life of all things Katy Perry. First was his refusal to request any of her money in their divorce despite the fact he was legally entitled to half (they did not have a prenup and she made tens of millions of dollars during their marriage). TMZ is reporting that he's giving her the house they purchased together during that time having signed a quitclaim giving her all rights to the property. 

Nothing says I am over you than taking a hit on some real estate. Man, he just wants OUT doesn't he? I don't blame him life is too short to be unhappy. Money doesn't buy happiness and this British comic is not a materialistic guy. 

It's funny, people have put Russell down since their marriage, but he's proven himself to be a class act. He didn't take advantage of their situation and try to take her to the cleaners and she is worth much more than him. Could it be the guilt of the alleged cheating? Who knows. Maybe he will shed some light on their marriage in his Booky Wook Number 3 that he is apparently writing.

The two were married in a lavish wedding in India October 23, 2010 until he filed for divorce December  30, 2011.

Although neither Katy Perry or Russell Brand have commented on why their marriage tanked, her best friend Markus Molinari took to Twitter and may have divulged that the British comic cheated on her. Unless of course there is another 'Russell' to which he refers:

If this is true this saddens me that Russell would do this (and I can't really stand the girl). Back in October of 2010 Katy claimed he would NEVER cheat on her because she's a 10 out of 10 in the bedroom, but you know those things don't matter if a guy is bent on cheating. I'm not saying he did (although given his HUGE sexual appetite who's surprised if it is true) but she's pretty naive to make a statement like that. Having said that I would never wish this on her.

However if he did cheat on her, I would think that he would address it in his Booky Wook number 3 that he is working on. I mean he's an open book and has exposed all of his flaws so why would that be any different. This WOULD explain a lot though wouldn't it?

Katy Perry's new guy Baptiste Giabiconi tweeted a pic of the two of them all cozy and the Daily Mail is reporting that this is going to eat Russell Brand up with jealousy. What a laughable concept considering he was the one that filed for divorce, he is the one that has been quiet and he is the one that is constantly switching it up with the ladies. Do you know what the opposite of love is? It's indifference.

Katy on the other hand tweeted that her heart was happy again ONE WEEK after Russell filed for divorce, she unfollowed him on Twitter and sang that revenge song at the Grammy Awards. Doesn't that sound like someone who isn't really over her ex? Meanwhile what has Russell done? Banged a lot of other women. 

The online publication goes on to say that a friend of the French model say he is very 'smitten' with Katy and that:

'Baptiste is an incredible model, musician, and humanitarian,' 

DM then goes on to say:

This will only add salt to the wound for comedian Brand who was spotted on the set of a new film today in New Orleans.

You've got to be kidding me right? Whether or not smurf head is trying to get him jealous is one thing but him actually being jealous is another thing. I call this story bullsh*t.

Katy Perry has been confirmed to perform at the 2012 Kids Choice Awards Ace Showbiz is reporting. Russell Brand's ex is up for three nominations including Favorite Female Singer, Favorite Song (Firework), and Favorite Voice From an Animated Movie (The Smurfs).  Also scheduled to perform is boy band One Direction. The screams are going to be epic!

The awards take place live on March 31, 2012 at 8 p.m. EST at USC's Galen Center with Will Smith doing host duties. Voting (by the fans) began on March 1st

Despite Katy Perry and Russell Brand's surprising split, not to mention all of the rumors in the media, her father Keith Hudson still has kind words for the British comic:

 "There are no hard feelings towards Russell — I just received a text from him the other day in fact. He is a wonderful and smart guy,"

US Weekly caught up with minister at the 100th anniversary of health food company Patricia Bragg and went on to say that Katy is doing good. Now. Seriously, does that mean she had a rough go of it even with the smiley face on the divorce documents?:

"Katy is doing well just now, " her dad said.

What went wrong with the oddball marriage? According to Keith, "Her career got really busy and she did not get to see that much of Russell — it was just one of those things."

I guess papa Hudson is allowed to speak to the media now, or he's going to pay for this dearly, how knows? I find his reason odd. While I understand that distance sometimes does not make the heart grow fonder, this is a couple that felt so strong about their union they didn't feel the need for a prenup. They both knew what they were getting into and that their careers were busy.

Katy Perry must have scarred Russell Brand in a huge way because the British comic has reportedly sworn off of marriage and will never ever do it again. Thank you Katy.

Their marriage lasted 14 months when he filed for divorce in December and has since been linked to several women but he is making it clear that he has no intention of getting serious any time soon. According to a source of The Daily Star:

”Russ was devastated when things with Katy went wrong. We all worried he’d go off the rails again. He managed to pull himself together and he’s fine now.

”He’s had a chance to look back and assess everything and thinks marriage isn’t for him. Russ was never too keen on it in the first place but loved Katy and thought it’d work.”

He has since been seen with Mexican artist 25 year old Oriela Medellin Amieiro but he's not being a playa about it either:

”He doesn’t want to string her along, but he’s dead set on not getting married again.”

While marriage isn't for everyone, perhaps Russell Brand shouldn't have rushed into it and should have looked at it a little more pragmatically than he did. Either way he has handled himself very classy since their split and has not bad-mouthed her or said anything nasty in a public manner. I don't care what anyone says, they seemed ill-suited from the beginning.

Katy Perry is purging her life of all things Russell Brand and that includes unloading the TriBeCa penthouse apartment she and her ex-husband purchased together 18 months ago.

The apartment was purchased before the two married for $2.75 million and that's the price she's asking for it. She doesn't even want to make any kind of profit from it! With news of Russell moving on I guess Katy is trying to do the same thing. According to the New York Post the 1,500 square foot apartment:

The two-bedroom, two-bathroom loft on North Moore Street (above) boasts a cherrywood staircase, a heated bathroom floor and a gorgeous south-facing terrace with a full city view, according to a listing with Prudential Douglas Elliman.

If I win the lottery I'm going to purchase that bad boy just so I can sweet the house for Russell Brand DNA.

Katy Perry attended last night's 2012 MusiCares Person of the Year Gala held at the Los Angeles convention center where Paul McCartney was honoured. Katy tweeted earlier in the evening that her 'lewk' is Petal Powered theme. I just don't understand this girl's sense of fashion. Makes you think those rumors of her and Lady GaGa hating one another are true and she's trying to compete with her or something. When I see head gear like this I always feel bad for the person sitting behind the person. I miss seeing her ex-husband Russell Brand with her. Not because I liked them together but because I would like to see more of him.
