Friday’s Fabulous Fashionistas Are: Rihanna, Kellan Lutz and More

A dress with her name on it! Better known as one‑half of Marchesa, British fashion designer Georgina Chapman was nothing less than elegant in her own label at the Time's 100 Most Influential People Gala held at the Lincoln Centre in NYC on April 25, 2012. The dress is a layer of crystals worked into a lace-like pattern, the skirt adorned with a light layer of ostrich feathers, which appears to be from the Marchesa Spring 2012 Collection. Although I'm surprised that Georgina's name wasn't on this year's Time 100 list, never mind. She and design partner Keren Craig, who makes up the other half of the Marchesa are in a league of their own!

It was a two-way tie for best-dressed couple also at the Time's 100 Most Influential People Gala. That honor goes to model/fashion designer Lauren Bush and hubby David Lauren and lawyer Alexi Ashe and beau, actor Seth Myers. While David Lauren opted for a black double-breasted suit with white shirt and dark tie, his bride Lauren was the vision of a Roman statuesque beauty in a simple yet elegant white sleeveless gown featuring a crossing neckline. No doubt, both donning the Ralph Lauren label. Meanwhile, actor Seth Myers also donning a dark suit with matching tie and white shirt was accompanied by girlfriend, lawyer Alexi Ashe who opted for the red version of Romanesque elegance. Hmm … I wonder. Did you suppose both couples connected beforehand to synchronize match-happy looks? Even the background matches. Now that's what I call effortless co-ordination.

Performing at the 2012 Time's 100 Most Influential People Gala was Rihanna who rocked it in a two‑piece Stella McCartney Fall 2012 jacquard ensemble. Rihanna shed her bad girl image for a gold metallic baby-doll strapless top accented with a deep red and blue bow and matching blue metallic pants. This is quite a departure from the black leather and skin-tight outfits we're used to seeing Rihanna in. It's also nice to see her hair back to its natural black and swept over into gentle waves. And for all you Rihanna fans, the singer made the magazine's 2012 list, alongside Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Warren Buffet and the Duchess of Cambridge. Now that's what I call keeping good company!

Proving that he's more than just a handsome vampire, Twilight actor, Kellan Lutz hit the red carpet at the Chanel Tribeca Film Festival Artists Dinner at the Odeon in NYC on April 24, 2012. The 27-year-old hunk donned, what I'm guessing to be either a Dolce & Gabanna or Gucci two‑piece black suit with matching tie and white shirt. The two-piece suit looks much better on Kellan than a three piece (top right), don't you think? And for all you Kellan Lutz fans (and who isn't?), Kellan's latest film, Java Heat is scheduled for release this year. In the film, Kellan plays a character named Jake who goes to Southeast Asia to fight terrorists. What could be better than watching a handsome hunk fighting off evil? Nothing. See you at the box office!

Shining like the star she is, House's Odette Annable lit up the red carpet at the series' finale wrap party in Los Angeles at Cicada on April 20, 2012. Odette was stunning in a retro gold metallic lace gown by David Meister with bateau neckline and three-quarter length sleeves. The dress fit her like a glove. To complete her look, Odette stylized with a gold Reiss 'Kaylin' clutch, simple diamond-drop style earrings and deep brown wavy tresses. She does resemble The Duchess of Cambridge a bit, don't you think? And although this may be the end of House, something tells me it definitely won't be the end of the red carpet for Odette!

Hollywood's newest on-screen lovers, Zac Efron and Taylor Schilling heat up the red carpet at the Germany premiere of their film The Lucky One in Berlin on April 25, 2012. Looking every bit the leading lady, Taylor wore a high-neck black mini with zipper-like detail on the bodice and kept her hair simple and chic along with minimal diamond earrings and ruby red lips. Although Taylor may have stolen the limelight at the event, nevertheless, Zac equally stepped out in style. Steering clear of the traditional black, blue, or grey suiting, Zac opted for a maroon two-piece suit by George Clinton with black tie and white shirt. Zac has come a long way from his young High School Musical days, quickly earning him a spot on the red carpet's best-dressed list. And with maroon becoming a more popular and challenging colour in men's attire, I believe Zac just climbed a few spots higher on that list!
