Friday’s Fabulous Fashionistas Are: Minka Kelly, Kristin Cavallari & More

With Valentine's Day just around the corner, what better way to set hearts aflutter than with a lady in red! Actress Minka Kelly strikes a pose for the cameras in a red Diane von Furstenberg sheath with nude Christian Louboutin peep toe pumps before changing and getting ready to walk the runway in The Heart Truth's Red Dress Collection fashion show in New York on February 8. February is Heart Month and Minka was among the many stars chosen to appear in the yearly event put on by the Heart and Stroke Foundation. I'll bet every guy's heart just skipped a beat!

Kristin Cavallari makes her baby bump debut (or what little we can see of it) at the L.A. premiere of This Means War on February 8. And judging from these pictures, I'd say this really does mean war … for other fashionistas that is. It may be early days, but the mommy-to-be is still rocking the red carpet in this long-sleeved crimson Maria Lucia Hohan mini dress, completing her look with Isharya earrings, "Lady Peep" nude pumps by Christian Louboutin and matching python-skin clutch. Something tells me that Kristin will still be rocking red carpets right up until her delivery date!

No black-tie gala would be complete without a gorgeous supermodel and world renowned fashion designer in attendance. At 45, Cindy Crawford still has what it takes to set a red carpet on fire. Cindy chose this low-cut show stopper Roberto Cavalli gown for the amfAR gala which kicked off 2012 Fall Fashion Week in New York on February 8. The gown is so delicately embellished, featuring a detailed sequined embroidered bodice with a contrasting cross-hatch design throughout the skirt. The yearly amfAR black-tie gala raises money for AIDS research, prevention and education. And this year's honoree was designer Roberto Cavalli for his work with AIDS.

Once a supermodel, always a supermodel. Also lending her support at the 2012 amfAR Gala this week was Canadian supermodel, Linda Evangelista who hung up her little black dress and opted for a girlie tux with peek-a-boo bra. While we ladies love the confident and sexy appeal of menswear, the girlie tux made a comeback in its own right last year with many designers such as Roberto Cavalli, Dolce & Gabbana, Pucci and Ralph Lauren catching on to the trend. And thanks to women like Linda Evangelista and others for making it a fashionable tailored look for women while still maintaining an elegance and femininity. After all, what girl doesn't want to wear the pants once in a while?

Ladies, what would Friday's Fabulous Fashionistas be without at least one gorgeous chap in the collection, especially with Valentine's Day just around the corner? Would I deprive you of such a pleasure? Of course not. So, also suiting up for the 2012 amfAR New York Gala this week was Twilight actor Kellan Lutz who was dashing and dapper in his manly tux at the event. If you ask me, Kellan could very well pass for a young James Bond here. Don't you think? I'm guessing his tux is by Roberto Cavalli. However, something tells me you really don't care about who designed it but only who's in it. Right?

Singer Kelly Rowland, was glowing in a one-shoulder tangerine Alberta Ferretti gown when she was the guest of honour at the Black Women in Music L.A. event on February 8. I would never think of tangerine as a colour for an evening gown. However, after seeing Kelly Rowland in this dress, I'm a believer! She was absolutely gorgeous! Kelly completed her look with gold jewelery by Lorraine Schwartz and a head of curls that most divas would kill for. Kelly was presented with a platinum plaque at the event for her successful hit, Motivation and other achievements over the past year. Kelly is also nominated at this Sunday's 2012 Grammy Awards. Don't miss it!

Completing this week's Fabulous Fashionistas is Oscar nominee and star of The Help, Octavia Spencer who looked elegant and beautiful in a David Meister dress. The actress attended the Oscar Nominees Luncheon in Beverly Hills this week and looked every part a Best Actress in waiting. Octavia kept her accessories simple and elegant with a leopard-print clutch, black platform pumps and hooped earrings. This is one actress that I am looking forward to seeing what she will wear on Oscar night, which is only 16 days away! Other than that, it wouldn't surprise me if she takes home a statuette that night.
That's it for another week fashionistas! Hope you enjoyed my picks. Be sure to be here Monday morning for my line-up of red carpet Grammy fashions. Until then, love and peace.
