Kathryn Bigelow beat out ex-husband James Cameron at the Producers Guild Awards last night by winning best film for her movie The Hurt Locker.  Word is, she’s expected to win at next week’s Directors Guld Awards and some are saying last night’s win puts her to the front of the line insofar as Oscar buzz is concerned.

In television, producer of the year for comedy went to 30 Rock (of course) with Mad Men getting the win for drama.

Acting legend Julie Christie signs autographs.  At a press conference she was told she was a legend and didn’t like it because she thought it made her old.  Ms. Christie is 68 years young and I have to say looks incredible.  What a figure!

Also signing autographs Michael Cera (he’s from Brampton which is just West of Toronto), Lisa Kudrow and Natalie Portman.

Natalie Portman and Lisa Kudrow attend the photocall and premiere of ‘Love and Other Impossible Pursuits‘ at the Toronto International Film Festival yesterday.  I love both these ladies.  When I see Lisa Kudrow I am always brought back to Friends and how funny she was as Phoebe.

Natalie Portman is like a little tiny doll.  She’s so cute and lovely.  Unfortunately this film is not getting a lot of good reviews, but like anything you have to decide these things for yourself.

Now that’s a boy after my own heart.  What woman doesn’t want her own mall?   Lisa Kudrow’s 10 year old son, Julian, has his sights set on becoming a retail mall magnate and has offered to set his mom up with her own cookie stand.  Says Lisa:

“He thinks he’s gonna act, which will give him money to own a mall… It’s really smart. He has a little plan.

“He said he’s gonna give me a job; he’s gonna let me bake cookies.”

How cute is that?  I miss seeing Lisa in projects.  I loved her character on Friends!!
