Highlights of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade!

Highlights of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade!

Another Thanksgiving is behind us and as you relax amid your Black Friday purchases and reach for another piece of leftover pie, I thought I'd give you something to look at. There was a lot of filler in the 85th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, as there usually is, from singers you never heard of nor care about lipsynching forgettable songs (some of them botching their cues, others looking bored. It could have used more Muppets. And could someone explain Johnny Weir to me? And oh wouldn't I have loved to be anywhere near a parent explaining the number from "Priscilla Queen of the Desert" to the kiddies. LMAO!) to floats and balloons that all seem to be commercials for something. That still leaves an awful lot to enjoy, and it was a beautiful day for a parade! My personal favorites were the Julius the Monkey balloon and the 610 Stompers.

Here are some of the highlights.

Mary J. Blige ‘Someone To Love Me (Naked)’ Ft. Diddy & Lil Wayne (Video)

Diddy and Lil Wayne teamed up with the powerhouse, Mary J. Blige for her latest music video for “Someone to Love Me (Naked).” This is the first single from her 10th album, My Life II: The Journey Continues which drops on September 20.

P. Diddy Lands Spot on ‘Hawaii Five-O’

I have loved Mary for years and years now.  She’s a classic artist that will never get old.  Not to me anyhow.  I love her soul and her passion.  You don’t find that in many artists anymore.

Have a watch/listen:

What did you think? Will you be buying a copy in September?

2010 Grammy’s Red Carpet & Winner’s List

full_grammy_awards_06_wenn2729469

Is it me or were there no dresses that really stood out last night as being over the top gorgeous?  I liked Nicole Kidman’s dress and I thought Taylor Swift’s was very flattering for her, but aside from that I don’t think the dresses were all that stunning, I’m sorry to say.  So what to do but put Lady GaGa and her very different style as the main picture?

Did you watch the Grammy’s last night?  Which performances stood out for you?  I loved Beyonce’s, Pink’s and the tribute to Michael Jackson.   Did you have your 3D glasses??  I thought the Elton John and Lady GaGa performance was pretty cool as well.

Madonna and Sting pose backstage at last night’s two-hour Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief that George Clooney put together along with Wyclef Jean to raise money for this devastating tragedy.

The show opened with Alicia Keys singing Prelude to a Kiss and saw some very remarkable performances by Madonna, Sting, Mary J. Blige, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson, Shakira, Bono, Jay-Z, Rihanna, Bruce Springsteen, Beyonce, Coldplay and more.  I’ve included some pictures of some of the performances but if you missed any of them my friend at Busy Bee Blogger has all the videos.  You really should watch the performances if you missed any of them.

Taking donations by phone (pictured):

  • Jack Nicholson
  • Stephen Spielberg
  • Ellen DeGeneres
  • Fran Drescher
  • Jennifer Aniston
  • Gerard Butler
  • Jeremy Piven

And lots more.  I’ve also included some pictures of celebrities arriving at the event as well as backstage.

If you didn’t donate and wish to, the wonderful people at ONTD have put together a very comprehensive list of the many different organizations you can donate to with website addresses and telephone numbers along with how much money ONTD has raised and how that can help the people of Haiti.

Mischa Barton Is A Gucci Girl

full_gucci_041_wenn2627435

Gucci is trying out a new concept to appeal to people in these tough economic times by having these Temporary Pop-Up Sneaker Stores.  They will be showcasing their sneaker collection for 2-3 weeks in each location.  The first stop was in Manhattan last night with planned Pop-Up stores in London, Berlin, Paris, Hong Kong and Tokyo.

Gucci’s creative director Frida Giannini collaborated with Mark Ronson for the Gucci Ronson sneakers.  Icon-Temporary sneakers are priced from $500 to $1,400, and Gucci Ronson shoes, $500 to $600.

What I find really interesting is that they are coming out with 18 styles 16 of which are for men and 2 for women.  Two!!  Wow, don’t go all out for us or anything.  Even more interesting is that the majority of celebs at the Manhattan opening seemed to be women.  I wonder if they were disappointed by the fact they had 2 whole style of shoes to choose from!

At the Manhattan opening:  Mischa Barton, Wyclef Jean, Mary J. Blige, Claire Danes, Leigh Lezark, Rachel Taylor, and Evan Rachel Wood
