I mentioned in a Sunday posting that I hadn’t seen Tom Cruise in pictures anywhere, in the longest time, and I especially hadn’t seen him with Katie.  Here Tom and Katie attend the Los Angeles premiere of Tropic Thunder from last night.  They look very happy don’t they?

Robert Downey Jr. and his wife Susan look like they would rather be elsewhere, lol!!  Tobey McGuire and his wife Jennifer Meyer look great, and it looks like Matthew McConaughey gave up diaper duty to attend.  Ben Stiller (the movie’s director and writer) and his wife, Christine Taylor look lovely.  Jason Bateman and his wife Amanda Anka also attended.

I can not make this stuff up folks.   Apparently he told CNN’s House Call with Dr. Sanjay Gupta:

“It’s going to be in the orchards and it’s going to bear some wonderful fruit,” he says, according to an interview transcript. “When I was in Australia, they had a placenta tree that was on the river … and all the placentas of all that tribe, all that clan, whatever aboriginal tribe that was, all the placentas went under that one tree and it was this huge behemoth of just health and strength.  “This tree was just growing taller and stronger above the rest of Mother Nature around it. It was gorgeous.”

Sometimes life is just not fair, lol.  Yes, it’s a slow news day.  But we can always count on Matthew McConaughy to be spotted jogging somewhere (in this case Malibu).  Unfortunately he isn’t bare-chested.

What a BEAUTIFUL picture!!!

Matthew on the delivery:

“We found a great rhythm,” Matthew tells OK! about the delivery of baby Levi. “Contractions started kicking in. I sat there with her, right between her legs. We got tribal on it, we danced to it! I was DJ-ing this Brazilian music.”

I wonder if he had his bongos with him….tee hee hee

On keeping a record of the experience:

“I have it all chronicled,” he explained. “Becoming a dad is something I’ve dreamed of doing since I was 10. Becoming a father felt very, very natural. We were jamming! She was sweating. No painkiller, let’s go. She just clicked into that gear that only a woman has at a time like this. We’d been up for 40-something hours, and we went from dead tired to a really steadfast, ‘Let’s handle this… let’s stay in the rhythm. Don’t let the contraction be more than you.’”

On finding out it was a boy when she delivered:

“I said, ‘Come here, little man. I saw the pecker and screamed that we’d been right all along about him being a boy. Then I brought him over to her [Camila],’ Matthew said.  “It was neat to find out what the sex was because we didn’t have the doctor tell us beforehand,” Camila agrees.

He is too funny isn’t he?

On who baby Levi resembles:

So who does little Levi look more like? “Everybody thinks he looks like me because of the hair and skin tone,” Camila says. “I think he looks more like Matthew every day.”  Matthew adds, “I’ve pulled out some baby pictures of myself, and the resemblance is amazing. This kid has a lot to learn from us. I want him to come out being a little wiser, a little cooler and a little happier than we are.”

That kid is going to have the coolest dad, isn’t he?

Apparently Levi looks just like daddy, and the rest of the world will be able to judge for itself when OK! Magazine.com publishes the first pictures of Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves’  little guy tomorrow morning.

Matthew on parenting:

“Camila and I were side by side the entire time. We are both tired and elated, and are so happy to have created the greatest miracle in the world — Having a child and making a family,” the 38-year-old told OK!. “Now comes the greatest adventure — raising one, together.”

They chose Levi to represents Matthew’s favorite passage in The Bible:

“If thy eye be single, thy whole body will be full of light.”
