The reality genre has just gotten a bit bigger with two new series being ordered for CMT. Melissa Rycroft and her husband Tye Strickland are getting their own reality show following their move to Los Angeles and her journey to get acting gigs. No word if it will show their life as new parents, but hopefully so! It is tentatively titled 'Melissa & Tye: A New Reality'.  Melissa is no stranger to reality having been on both The Bachelorette and Dancing With The Stars. 

Also scoring a reality show is the adorable Jennie Garth, wife to one of the producer of the show, Peter Facinelli (hubba, hubba) and mother to 3 girls. Her reality show, called I Love Jennie will show their move from Los Angeles to a seven-acre farm in California!

Eight episodes of each show has been ordered and both will premiere in April!

Melissa Rycroft and Tye Strickland are still getting used to being new parents.  They adore their five month old baby girl Ava, but they aren’t used to having date nights now!

“It’s weird that we’re having a date night out and we don’t have our daughter with us,” first-time mom Rycroft told Us Weekly at Thursday’s HTC EVO 3D launch party in West Hollywood. “We know she’s in really good hands; it’s just weird to be here.”

This baby girl has brought them even closer together.

“I am a firm believer that if your marriage can survive a newborn, you can survive pretty much anything!” former Bachelor contestant Rycroft told Us. “It’s trying, it’s tough, it’s hard [to have a child]. You are operating on very little sleep with very little patience, but at the end of the day, it’s [about] teamwork. You’ve got to do it together.  She is talking all the time [and] sleeping through the night. These are big milestones for us,” says Rycroft. “[And] she is a breath away from getting a tooth!”

He adds,

“She’s at the point now where she really recognizes us so when we walk in the room and she hears our voice she’ll turn and smile. It’s the best feeling in the world!”

They are such an adorable couple, making their lives into a beautiful family.  Love it.

Melissa Rycroft and her husband Tye Strickland hosted Memorial Day Weekend at Azure Luxury Pool at The Palazzo Resort and Casino in Las Vegas and while doing so, made everyone green with envy or green with nausea.  Why?!  Because they are so damn cute together.  OMG.  Sure, they weren’t the direct product of The Bachelor show… but kind of.

It seems like just yesterday that DWTS‘ Melissa Rycroft, 28, delivered her first baby, daughter Ava Grace with husband Tye Strickland. And look at her at the Race to Erase MS at the Hyatt Regency Plaza in Los Angeles Friday night. She looks amazing! Little Ava was born on February 16th of this year so it’s only been a little over two months! How do women bounce back so quickly?

Melissa Rycroft Is A Mom!

Melissa attended this most worthwhile event along with a number of other DWTS’ peeps: Kym Johnson, Hines Ward, Cheryl Burke, Anna Trebunskaya, Louis Van Amstel and Chelsea Kane.

Cindy Crawford, Paris Hilton, Sela Ward and a number of other celebrities attended the event.

Bachelor cutie, Melissa Rycroft Strickland and her husband, Tye Strickland, welcomed a baby girl on Wednesday, according to People.

Dancing With The Stars Celebrates 200 Episodes [PHOTOS]

They have named her, Ava Grace Strickland.  She arrived in Dallas weighing in at 6 lbs., 13 oz.

“Our lives have changed so much in the last two years and today we’ve been blessed with the best change ever, our beautiful baby girl,” Melissa gushed to People.

I think they are one of the cutest couples ever.  I am so happy for them and their beautiful little family.  Congrats and enjoy your sweet bundle!

DWTS’ Melissa Rycroft gave US Magazine the exclusive that she and her husband Ty Strickland are pregnant:

“It was a shock. We weren’t even trying,”  ”It’s the most wonderful surprise in the world,”  ”It’s such a blessing.

The girl who was famously dumped on The Bachelor (but then rocked our asses on DWTS) married Ty in December of 2009 is expecting in February. Baby-making wasn’t on this girl’s mind:

“He wanted the kids right away, and I was laughing at him going, ‘No, not ready!’”

Melissa will co-host the new Bachelor Pad, a spin off from The Bachelor show, which debuts August 9. But she won’t get stressed because her rock of a husband Ty, keeps her zen-like.  She says of her rock:

“He’s actually cried more than I have,”  ”Tye is caring, he’s funny. He’s going to be a great dad.”

She’s hoping for a boy and he’s hoping for a girl:

“We’re going to find out as soon as we can”

Not only is she having cravings, but Melissa‘s eating everything in sight:

“Knowing me, I’m going to swell and gain 90 pounds,” she says. “But it’s not about me anymore!”

Congratulations to the happy couple.  They are going to make fabulous parents.
