If you've been wondering where the O.C. actress has been, Mischa Barton has been working on her very own e-commerce site Mischa's Place so that you can buy all of her products which include clothing, cosmetics and beauty products. Products? Who knew? If you think about it, it's quite smart of her especially in Hollywood where actresses have a very short shelf life.

She says of the site:

Together with the help of my Mum Nuala, my inspirations are brought to life using elements of my personal style. Our Collection has grown and developed to reflect the consumer and myself over the seasons, whilst maintaining a consistent theme.  

I hope you enjoy my designs and have as much fun wearing them as I did designing them!"

Despite having been born in London I can't see her using the word 'whilst'. Anyhoo, the fashion and accessory line is in partnership with aLine media.

Earlier this week these photos of Mischa Barton loving up (and chewing on) a piece of raw beef hit the internets in an odd photoshoot by controversial photographer Tyler Shields. Well of course it's going to piss PETA off, right? PETA gave TooFab an exclusive statement:

"This raw meat stuff is getting old and may not only hurt and kill cows, it may hurt Mischa, because  so much meat is infected with salmonella, E. coli, and campylobacter that licking it is like licking a toilet."

The statement continues, "In addition to this being completely unoriginal, it's completely callous—flesh from a tortured animal isn't a joke, isn't camp, and isn't cool. Meat is full of blood, is produced with violence, and causes great suffering. So if that's the look they were going for, too bad: They could have taken a leaf out of the playbooks of Pamela Anderson and Alyssa Milano, two PETA pinups who have shown off their natural beauty in outfits made of lettuce leaves for PETA's "Let Vegetarianism Grow on You" campaign."

Excuse me while I dry-heave at the 'licking a toilet' comparison. Seriously I have been totally wanting to give up meat these days (because of my love for animals) and am struggling with it but I have to think this is a freaking sign.

Tyler Shields had his own statement that he issued to TooFab:

"I did not kill the cow, I just bought the meat. If they feel like I should be using lettuce instead of meat, I will see if I can work that into something."

He adds, "I don't attack them for being non-meat eaters so I hope they can respect my choice as a human to eat it."

Controversy sells, doesn't it? I'm interested to see what he does with lettuce. What do you think of the photos?

Hello Mischa Barton!  Where did you come from?!  These photos from the December issue of Tattler Magazine remind me of the old days.  Back when Mischa was nothing less than fabulous.  We have seen her go through a lot of bad fashion statements and some emotional roller coasters since her ’5150 days’ and it’s refreshing to see her back.

Mischa Barton is Under Arrest!

In her interview, she spoke about the whole 5150 fiasco, and it really isn’t like the public thought it was.  It all stemmed from her wisdom teeth surgery that left her a total wreck and landed her locked up in the hospital,

“I had infections and I couldn’t eat anything except Slush Puppies for three months and I can’t tell you how awful it was.  Anyway, I’d had enough and I went to the hospital.  I was in a lot of pain and if they feel you are depressed or a danger to yourself they can hold you on a 5150.  I am terrified of needles and they wanted to pump me full of drugs and I said, “No, absolutely not. I don’t want to be here,” and got into a fight with the nurses, and that led to my 5150.  Part of me wishes those things had never happened in the public eye. I wish I could have been perfect.  For ages after that 5150 I’d walk down the street and people would give me the crazy eye: “There’s Mischa Barton, she’s insane, isn’t she?”

That is awful.  I feel so bad for her!  I admit that I was one of those people who thought she’d lost it.  How unfair.  Sure she’s made some pretty lame choices, but that goes way beyond it.  She was mistreated and no one cared to understand what was really going on. I am so glad that she got the opportunity to share her side.

I am personally sending out the fashion police to arrest Mischa Barton.  This girl is now known for her horrible lack of fashion sense more than her acting career.  I have seen a lot of bad things on Mischa, but this outfit is one for the record books.  I don’t know who designed it, but they should be shot.

The shoes are horrible too!  Mischa’s thought process while picking out clothes has to be, “Gotta find the most atrocious thing on the rack, the tabloids will eat me up…”

Mischa Barton is doing so much better.  It’s nice not to have to cringe when I see her photos pop up.  Yes, the girl is still lacking in the fashion department.  That dress and jacket she’s wearing here belong on an eighty-year-old.  But, as long as Mischa is happy and healthy, I’ll let it go.

Mischa Barton’s Sad Stop At The Gas Pump

Most recently, we’ve seen her on Law & Order.  But get ready for some new movies. Mischa’s got a handful of projects coming out in the next year or so.

Mischa is back and she’s going to be better than ever.

Mischa Barton admitted to Ok! Magazine’s British edition that it’s been one hell of a year:

“That was a tumultuous year. It was one thing after another and it lead to a pretty reasonable breakdown.  “I suffer from depression and that’s the truth. I’ve never told anybody that.”

Despite her questionable choice of clothes, she’s no crazy lady:

“I am by no means mentally unstable. Well I am pretty crazy and weird sometimes, but not mentally unstable,”

“I balance [depression] with positive things in my life and that’s why I have my outlets of music and literature…As much as I get down, I’m an upbeat person. People always think of me as kind of a light in a room – I love to make people laugh.”

One person she doesn’t care to make laugh is Fearne Cotton.  The two were seen filming in Los Angeles in August for a documentary Fearne was working on and it cast Mischa in a bad light and now homegirl is pissed:

“I can’t hear Fearne’s name without seeing red…I cried my eyes out when I first saw it.

“I wish I hadn’t done it and that’s bad because there are enough misconceptions about me in the press. She’s got nothing to lose if she makes a more salacious story, she’s only got everything to gain.

“I just find her messed up to be honest.”

Apparently during the shooting Mischa kept Ms. Cotton waiting and she was pissed about it:

“Fearne never let on that she was irritated about waiting. She acts like everything’s so great and she loves you and they cut it together and make it seem like it was a terribly painful experience for them.

“I don’t want to start a feud with her, it’s not worth it to me. She likes the fame, it doesn’t affect her like it affects the people she’s documenting.”

Isn’t that what most shows do in the editing room? Drama sells and they always edit it to make it juicy and titillating.

Although Mischa Barton looks very healthy and actually very good, she also looks incredibly sad to me.

Maybe she came to the realization that nowadays you don’t have to kiss the pavement to fill your car up with gas.

I’m sure all the pappers sport wood when they see her and not because of her but because of her classic car.

Mischa Barton and Fearne Cotton are in Los Angeles filming something.  I don’t know what is more shocking:  Fearne Cotton filming something with Mischa Barton or just that they are filming something period. I still don’t believe it. I think they are just grabbing a beverage and decided to bring along a film crew to entice Hollywood executives to jump on board the gravy train that is the Mischa Barton and Fearne Cotton show.

Having had a week off where I was a complete and utter BUM I actually felt compelled to look up who Fearne Cotton is on imdb.com and even they don’t know who she is other than she’s born in England, is 5’6″ and is best friends with Holly Willoughby. Now if I were really professional and all, I would then look up who Holly Willoughby is and piece this staggering mystery together but I think it’s best I pace myself.
