Robert Pattinson and the Belles of Bel Ami Shine in Berlin!

Robert Pattinson and the Belles of Bel Ami Shine in Berlin!

Robert Pattinson’s next post-Twilight project, Bel Ami, premiered at the Berlin Film Festival last night. Not sure what was up with that convict hair cut. It’s probably for a role. Either that or he just got fed up with people talking about his hair and not his acting.

His fans certainly didn’t seem to mind. He was MOBBED. A couple of female fans had a sign letting him know that they’d waited thirty hours for his arrival. (Thirty. 3.0. I don’t think I’d wait thirty hours outside in a German February for anyone. Not even Gerard Butler.)

Rob brought along a couple of the feminine forms with which he toys in the movie, Christina Ricci (who’s losing that ‘lollipop-head-on-a-stick’ look.) and Holliday Grainger (The Borgias). I love Grainger’s blue velvet dress. The details are on trend with the ‘Downton Abbey look’ coming off the runways at NY and Paris Fashion Week. He also brought his parents. I love that. (Michael Fassbender brought his parents to the BAFTAs last week, too) He really does look like a combination of the two, doesn’t he? He also brought his GORGEOUS sisters!

Bel Ami tells the story of a young man's rise to power in Paris via his manipulation of the city's most influential and wealthy women. RPattz, of course, plays the young man. His conquests are played in addition to Grainger and Ricci, by Uma Thurman and Kristin Scott Thomas. Bel Ami is set to open in the US on March 2 and in the UK on 9th March.

Michael Fassbender Goes Haywire in Berlin!

Michael Fassbender Goes Haywire in Berlin!

I wonder how many web postings today have had some variation of that title…

After yesterday’s photocall, the cast of Steven Soderbergh’s Haywire took to the red carpet last night for the premiere of their film at the Berlinale. Woo Hoo! Good enough reason to bring you some Michael Fassbender in a suit, am I right?

Fassbender and Antonio Banderas were clowning around, all while looking extraordinarily handsome.  I can only imagine some of the dialogue: “Miguel, mi amigo! Didn’t I just see you two hours ago?” “Why yes Antonio, you did. And I must say we look even better now than we did then.” “Agreed!”

The genetically gifted duo posed alongside the film’s leading ladies, former MMA fighter Gina Carano in a shiny LBD and Natascha Berg in red.

We have lots of pics below, but we also have a bit of news.  MTV spoke to writer/producer Simon Kinberg at the premiere of his latest film, This Means War, and they talked about the highly anticipated X-Men: First Class sequel!

"I don’t know what the title is going to be but certainly I’m working on the sequel to 'X-Men: First Class' right now," Kinberg said. "I’m going to be writing and producing it, I’m starting now, with Matthew Vaughn directing."

Kinberg went on to say that while they're still in the early stages of story-planning, the second film will likely involve a lot more Magneto.

"That’s what was so cool about the first one and what we want to continue," Kinberg said of exploring the supervillain's tortured beginnings. "Magneto becomes the villain ultimately of the franchise but he’s a much more complicated character as a young man. He’s someone you sympathize with, you care about you root for even though might not necessarily agree with his methods, you understand his philosophy."

"…a lot more Magneto.” Skweeeeeee!  Yes please!

Michael Fassbender Wins an Award in Dublin, Brad & Angie Premiere Her Movie in Berlin

Michael Fassbender Wins an Award in Dublin, Brad & Angie Premiere Her Movie in Berlin

For your daily Fassbender, we have pics from the Irish Film and Television Awards, held tonight in Dublin where Fassy won yet another award for Best Actor in a Film for his performance in Shame, (giving the Academy yet another punch in the schnoz in my humble opinion). Michael (probably) won’t be celebrating this win til the wee hours since he’s up for yet another round tomorrow night. He’ll hop a flight or take the ferry across to London for the Orange British Academy Film and Television Awards, better known as the BAFTAs (even though they do television separately) where he’s again nominated for Best Actor. He does have serious competition from Gary Oldman though. (Anyone but Clooney. Love ya George, but I can name at least two other films you were better in.)

Irish cutie Chris O’Dowd won the award for Best Supporting Actor in a Film for Bridesmaids.

Over on the continuent, the Jolie-Pitts were at the Haus der Berliner Festspiele for the Berlinale premiere of Angelina’s directorial effort, In the Land of Blood and Honey. Is it me or is Ange softening her look lately? Probably an off-night.

Below are some pics of Hollywood’s ‘Golden Couple’ as well as the ‘World’s Sexiest Ginger’ (I just made that up.) Enjoy.

This Means War Premiere Pics Plus Treats You Are Gonna Want to See!

This Means War Premiere Pics Plus Treats You Are Gonna Want to See!

Last night in LALA Land, Tom Hardy, Reese Witherspoon and Chris Pine all showed up to Grauman’s Chinese Theater for the premiere of their new flick, This Means War.  Of course we have pretty pictures of the pretty people for you to ogle look at.

Not a huge Chris Pine fan, as I may have mentioned a time or two, but he was looking SHARP last night. Love the checks on checks with the polka-dotted pocket silk. Mmm Mm!  Tom looked a little scruffy, like a  moonshiner someone found in the Ozarks and stuffed into an expensive suit. Perhaps he’s doing reshoots for The Wettest County. I’m not saying he didn’t look good, but I’m always sad when I can’t see his gorgeous mouth. I’m shallow that way.

Not a fan of Reese’s dress, and don’t get me started on Chelsea Handler’s weird Where’s Waldo/Pippi Longstocking hybrid.  Actually I don’t want to talk about the women at all. Angela Bassett looked fantastic as did Melanie Lynskey. I want her cute pink shoes! For the record, Abigail Spencer, soon to be seen in Of Men and Mavericks with one Gerard Butler, is gorgeous!

I’ve decided I don’t care which man ends up with America’s sweetheart. She doesn’t deserve either one of them, not to mention from what I’ve been reading today, the movie has been marketed all wrong (*Kevin McAllister face slap* I’m shocked!) and it’s not actually a romance at all but a balls-out guys action comedy. Which frankly, THIS female would much rather see than some drippy rom-com anyway.

To that end, let’s get to the treats!

The first is another new clip from the film. We’ve seen parts of it before, but now we get more of the conversation wherein our heroes discover they are dating the same woman and what they PLAN to do about it. The clip is called “Gentleman’s Agreement”, but I think we know where we’ll end up.

The next clip is *NSFW* so put in the earphones and make sure the boss or the kiddies aren’t looking. It’s not THAT bad, but you can’t say I didn’t warn you. (For the record, UK sites don’t even need to post warnings. They’re okay with a little salty language and bare bums).  I can only hope this clip makes it to the special features of the dvd. I’m going to need to own this.

This Means War opens February 17. For reals. Enjoy the pics!

The Men of Safe House Hit New York!

The Men of Safe House Hit New York!

The cast of the new action/adventure thriller Safe House turned out in New York City on Tuesday night February 7 for a red carpet premiere at the SVA Theater.  Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds posed for pictures along with Vera Farmiga (who brought along little sister Taissa, who made a splash in FX’s American Horror Story this year.) Denzel was with beautiful wife Pauletta (she’d probably kick his ass if he didn’t bring her) but luckily there was no sign of Ryan’s current squeeze.

The news of the night was a genuine smile from Reynolds as opposed to a bored smirk. For the most part he looked like he’d rather be somewhere else.

Safe House is about a green CIA agent (Reynolds) who is tasked with looking after a fugitive (Washington) in a safe house in South Africa. But when the safe house is attacked, he finds himself on the run with his charge. The film also stars Brendan Gleeson, Liam Cunningham, Sam Shepard, Robert Patrick and Joel Kinnaman.  It opens Friday February 10 in the US and 24th February in the UK. Enjoy the pics!

New Poster and New TV Spot in Your Daily John Carter

New Poster and New TV Spot in Your Daily John Carter

Okay Disney… I am looking forward to John Carter more all the time, but I can’t keep up. You’ve had two years to dole this stuff out!  I’m kidding. Seriously, I am loving all of the bits we’ve been getting lately. A steady diet of this until March 9 is certainly encouraged.  Today we’ve got a new international poster, with the focus squarely on Taylor Kitsch as John Carter and a new tv spot.

I think I like this spot even more than the one for which Disney shelled out the big bucks to plonk down in the middle of the Super Bowl. In this new one minute dollop we learn a lot more about what’s going on plus we get a glimpse at more of the very cool special effects. The very expensive, very cool special effects. They'd better blow us away.

I’m actually beginning to contemplate seeing this in IMAX. After my experience with Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, I’m much more open to the possibilities, however, that film was not in 3D. Not only will things be flying at my face, but they’ll be forty feet tall. I’m still thinking.

I have thirty days to decide. Bring it on Disney! Convince me.  John Carter opens March 9 everywhere.
