ETOnline is reporting that Natalie Cole has been hospitalized in New York with what a close family member says:  “She’s had a set back and has gone into the hospital.”

Last week, Natalie talked to ET about battling Hepatitus C:

“This is a virus that was dormant in my body for 25 years. I had no symptoms, was feeling great, working out like a crazy person — and this just keeled me over, like a feather.”

Her treatment for the disease:

“What I have is treated with chemo … every week,” she says, adding that she experiences the traditional side effects from the treatment, such as nausea and her hair falling out.

US Magazine is reporting that the singer has been diagnosed with the liver disease and it is believed to be due to previous drug use.   The 58-year old, 8-time Grammy winner discussed her drug battle in her 2000 autobiography Angel on My Shoulder.

The singer remains very optimistic:

“I am committed to my belief in myself and in my abiding faith to meet this challenge with a heartfelt optimism and determination. This is how I intend to deal with this currentchallenge in my life.”
