According to The Star magazine Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez were engaged six months ago and despite the fact Halle has sworn she would never marry again she's so freaking in love with Olivier and can't wait to marry him and spawn his seed. Ah Hollywood romance. It's so lovely isn't it?

I'm not sure how reputable The Star is for these things these days but getting married isn't really a stretch is it? It's not like the headline was Halle and Olivier had an Alien baby that they planted in their back yard and it sprouted cupcakes type of tabloidism (I think I made that word up) but that doesn't mean it's accurate either.

And because Halle is so happy she's going to have a huge wedding in wine country with Olivier. According to a source:

“Deciding to marry again is huge for Halle,” the source said.  “But friends have never seen her this happy and fulfilled.”

As for baby-making this is definitely something these two want to do:

“Halle would love to have more kids, but she knows it might be difficult because of her age and the fact that she’s diabetic,” says the insider.  “If they can’t conceive, they’d definitely consider adoption.”

The issue hits newsstands tomorrow in which more wedding and baby plans will be divulged.

Apparently all the outlets are reporting that they ARE engaged!

Halle Berry was all set to make her Broadway debut in The Mountaintop in September alongside Samuel L. Jackson but has had to bail on her commitment because of ‘custody issues‘. As you know Halle and baby-daddy Gabriel Aubry have been going at it for months over legal custody (and parental rights) of their daughter Nahla.

She had to change roles in the film New Years’ Eve that was being filmed in New York due to custody issues and now she can’t make her commitment to the Broadway show for the same reason. The producers released the statement that she will: “not be appearing in the role due to child-custody issues.”

I do not know Halle Berry or her custody issues, but it seems odd to me that someone can’t work to battle said issues. Working mothers and fathers around the world have to keep their jobs while they fight custody battles every single day.

Again, I realize I do not know her or her situation but sometimes when someone is keen on pointing the finger at others, it’s usually because they are trying to get the focus off of themselves. And usually for good reason. Afterall isn’t that what smear campaigns are all about? Our Canadian government in the upcoming election is a prime example of that. I’m not saying this is the case because I truly don’t know, but it sure does make you wonder, doesn’t it?

The priority here of course is Nahla and her safety and well-being, but I just don’t know how Joe and Joan Average are able to hold down jobs while embroiled in custody battles?

I’m sure this isn’t the end of this drama. What are your thoughts? Anybody out there who has been in child-custody battles that had to drop out of work? Know anyone who has? Or do you think this is a bit much? Or is this code for between the custody battle and hitting it with Olivier Martinez a girl has to set her priorities?

They say a picture is worth a thousand words and I have to say that holds true for this picture of Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez gazing lovingly at each other.  Or is that lustfully?

Either way I’m kind of surprised that they are making their ‘public’ debut together this soon.  That’s not a judgment it’s just that Halle is usually more guarded than that.  So does this mean it’s serious? One has to think so, right?

Halle wore a beautiful red Yves St. Laurent gown at the attended last night’s 32nd Carousal of Hope Ball in Los Angeles. This is a huge event that attracts a who’s who of Tinsletown.  Last night the guests enjoyed:

a sit-down, three-course dinner, Moët & Chandon champagne and wine. A live auction was held to complement a silent auction that took place in another room before the dinner began. A highlight of the evening was the auctioning of a Mercedes valued at $160,000. The car, of which there is only one in the United States, went for $170,000.

The gala benefits the Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes in Denver, Colorado and has to date raised over $75 Million!!

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony attended as did Dancing With The Stars’ Maksim Chmerkovskiy looking dapper with his dance partner Brandy Norwood.  Also there was Gladys Knight who ended the evening with Midnight Train to Georgia and also revealed that she is getting her own reality show (because there aren’t enough of them I guess):

“We’re setting in motion a reality show right now,” “It’s about family. I have 17 grand kids and four great grand kids and of course my brother Bubba, who is the only one of the Pips left. Our relationship is very unusual so it’s about that.”

Oliver Martinez was at Cipriani’s the other day with a “mystery woman”.  His looks have changed but I can’t quite put my finger on how.  Anyone?

Yeah, his date has a nice sweatband on her head.  That’s what you get Mr. Martinez for hurting Ms. Kylie Minogue, who btw, looks better than you.  Looking fah-bulous is the BEST revenge, dahlinks. 

He really doesn’t have that warm, welcoming look for the pappers does he?  My luck the mystery woman will be his sister and this post will have been for not.
