In case you missed it, last night the American Music Awards were on and were opened by Janet Jackson with performances by Rihanna, Keith Urban, Kelly Clarkson, Green Day, Alicia Keys with Jay-Z, Eminem & 50 Cent, Whitney Houston, The Black Eyed Peas and Adam Lambert.  Of them all my favourite performance was by the Black Eyed Peas.  My least favourite? Unfortunately Rihanna.

Michael Jackson posthumously won 4 awards:  Favorite Soul/R‘n’B Artist, Favorite Pop/Rock Male Vocalist Favorite Pop/Rock Album and Favorite Soul/R‘n’B Album. Taylor Swift beat out Michael and others in the Artist of the Year award.  She, herself looked shocked (via satellite) when she won and said:

“To even be mentioned in a category with Michael Jackson is an unimaginable honour. I’m sending my love to the Jackson family.”

Jessica Simpson is helping sister Ashlee Simpson-Wentz celebrate her 25th birthday which is today!  Happy Birthday Ashlee!  Ashlee’s husband, Peter Wentz was also there of course. 

 They’re celebrating at Wet Republic at the MGM Grand Casino in Vegas.

Actually I really don’t know if he does or not.  He’s not wearing leather, but is attending Axe Instinct & Rolling Stone’s Power of Leather party in New York.  Others attending:  Kim Kardashian, Reggie Bush, Ashlee Simpson, Peter Wentz, and Constance Mouralis. 

Peter Wentz recently created a Twitter account to let fans of the Fall Out Boys know that the band is not splitting up, but are not recording an album at the moment.

New parents Ashlee Simpson Wentz and Peter Wentz hosted New Years Eve event Purefection at Pure nightclub inside Caesars Palace last night.

She looks great, doesn’t she?  Do you prefer her as Blonde or Auburn?

Also there:  Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney Kardashian along with their mother Kris Jenner, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt and Rashad McCants.
