Piers Morgan sat down with the late Amy Winehouse’s father Mitch Winehouse to talk about the untimely death of the talented singer/songwriter in an emotional interview where Mitch says the real Amy was so full of love:

“She had so many qualities and so many frailties… but all of the nonsense that was written about her in the papers is all gone now. Everybody is full of love and admiration for her.” “She was full of love…even for people that didn’t deserve it. I just wish she was here so we could give her a cuddle.”

You know it’s so true. We all took our shots at her and her antics (myself included I”m sorry to say) and now that she’s gone it certainly makes you reflect on the fact that beneath all the so-called imperfections everybody (well mostly everybody) has good qualities and she seemed to have more good than bad.

This is an interview I definitely hope to catch.

Well there’s a shocking confession for you. Piers Morgan interviewed Oprah on his new CNN show Monday night and wow.  We got a lot more from her than we ever expected.

We are so used to watching Oprah get others to open up, but now, it was her turn.

Piers Morgan Lengthens His Blacklist

Oprah said that after so many years of sexual abuse, that began when she was only 9, she began “running the streets” and landed herself in a detention home. Her mom got sick of the drama and sent her  to live with her father in Nashville when she was 14 and secretly pregnant.

When she arrived,

“My father … said to me as I’m standing in the kitchen listening to him, ‘These are the rules of the house, you’re going to obey the rules, you have a 10 o’clock curfew, and I would rather see a daughter of mine floating down the Cumberland River … than to bring shame on this family and the indecency of an illegitimate child,’” she remembered. “I know that I’m pregnant, so I’m thinking I’m just going to have to kill myself.  I did stupid things like drinking detergent and that crazy stuff that you do when you are trying to get attention when you are really just trying to cry for help.  I don’t even know what I thought the plan was going to be. That’s why I relate so much to young girls in that situation. There isn’t the great stigma [today] that it was when I was in school. When I was 14 [and] you are having a baby out of wedlock, your life is over.”

When her ankles bean to swell from the pregnancy, they took her to the hospital where she confessed she was pregnant.  That strain put her into labor and the baby died.

Oprah admits that she was relieved when the baby died.

“It was my second chance.  I went back to school and nobody knew because had anybody known at that time, I wouldn’t have been able to be head of the student council. I wouldn’t have been able to be speaking champion in forensics. I wouldn’t have been able to be Miss fire prevention. I wouldn’t have been chosen as one of the two teenagers in the state of Tennessee to go to the White House conference on youth. None of those things would have happened. The entire trajectory of my life would have been different.”

I am honestly a bit on the speechless side right now.  That is a very heavy story and I need to digest it.  Feel free to share your thoughts below.

I actually adore Piers Morgan.  I think he’s truly adorable and his quick wit is utterly…. hot.  I know.  Call me crazy but, when he was on Celebrity Apprentice, I really loved the guy.  He’s so up front.  He doesn’t take crap from anyone.  The man has balls!

Anyhow, now that he’s taken over for Larry King on CNN, he’s laying down his own law and I am loving every bit of it.  That’s called being real people!

Piers doesn’t like everyone.  Who does?  And guess what?  Piers isn’t going to kiss anyone’s arse to pretend like he likes them either.  What you see is what you get with this guy.  And what he’d like you to see is the list of celebrities whom he will never interview on CNN.  Why?  Because he doesn’t have to.

Cheryl Cole’s interview with Piers Morgan is set to hit U.K. television on Saturday. And although she purged her innards about douchebagy IDIOT ex-husband Ashley Cole (my words not hers) it didn’t make her feel warm and fuzzy inside she tells BBC Radio 1:

“No, it wasn’t really cathartic. It felt a bit wrong. I was talking about stuff I wouldn’t talk about to my closest friends. I felt I had to though; it was getting so ridiculous with rumours. People were getting ideas I’m someone I’m not, I needed to get my voice back,” “It was almost like it was a soap opera and it’s my real life. When it’s all out there on Saturday I can move forward. I would have been nervous to come on here before because people want to know personal things and it’s not about that, I have great things going on, I’ve recorded an album. It was becoming like I was closed in, I was becoming a caricature of myself, my personal life was bigger than anything.”

She says that Katy Perry, who recently performed on the X-Factor, is not a girls’ girl:

“Katy Perry was nice, but no,” She’s very strong, she’s got her own opinion, but I love her. She’s a bit more tomboyish in her way, she’s a bit loud with a big personality.”

I think Katy Perry has a good heart but she would be exhausting to be around.  Cheryl talked about the Malaria she suffered while in Tanzania with Derek Hough:

“Your body aches and your skin hurts to touch. I had blood tests. I was given 24 hours at one point… let’s not go there,” “My mum was strong, she was my rock. I was in and out of consciousness. Yes, Derek helped me. I did Piers Morgan and I spoke about this and it’s the last time I want to.”

And although she refused to discuss Derek Hough, she did say of Will.i.am:

“Will’s a friend, a good person. He’s always up, I don’t know what he does but he’s always around, always,” “He’s very reliable and inspiring, I talk to him, I come off the phone and I feel like a different person

If she isn’t willing to talk about Derek but is willing to confirm that Will.i.am is just a friend, what conclusion can be drawn except her and Derek were more than friends? Or am I analyzing the sh*t out of it?

Cheryl Cole sat down with Piers Morgan for a 2 hour interview where she reveals at one point during her bout with Malaria doctors gave her 24 hours to live and as a result she wrote her will:

“I thought I was going to die, I actually thought I was going to die. I thought if I’m going to die I want to die soon because I was in so much pain”

She also talks about the painful split from ex-husband of 3 1/2 years Ashley:

“I was a heartbroken girl. Part of me will always love him. Looking back on it I feel numb. We had a great marriage and a fantastic wedding day but I don’t know where it went wrong. To this day I still question that,” “Once we get over this obstacle, I hope we can be friends again. A part of me will always love Ashley

I think where it went wrong was when she married the douche.

She also discussed her connection to Simon Cowell and dealing with fame:

“I have a connection with him like no one else. He is one of the most important people in my life. He just gets me,” she explained. “Sometimes I feel completely trapped. I just can’t go back to Newcastle and put on tracksuit bottoms and Ugg boots.

The interview on Britain’s ITV aires October 23.

It looks like Piers Morgan beat Simon Cowell to the alter by getting married first.  He and his girlfriend of four years columnist Celia Walden married on Thursday, June 25, 2010 in London.

In addition to celebration his marriage, Piers is celebrating a victory in court where former wife of Paul McCartney, Heather Mills filed a complaint with Britain’s Press Complaints Commission against Piers for making her celebrity number 100 in his list of The 100 British celebrities who really matter’ for a column he wrote in March.

Heather complained about the part where Piers writes she does: “nothing but bleating letters of complaint to newspapers and divorce lawyers”

She was also miffed at the fact Piers claims to have ‘eternal shame’ for introducing her to McCartney (shouldn’t Paul get to sue Piers for that?). The PCC ruled in his favour saying he didn’t breach the code of conduct.
