Marie Osmond is probably going to be in a very foul mood today upon learning that The Franklin Mint has announced the Kate Middleton doll which goes for $195 a pop. The doll comes complete with the blue engagement dress that Kate wore in her and Prince William’s public announcement back in November as well as the jewelery (plastic of course).

This is one of two dolls being released with the second being a Kate Middleton Doll in full wedding attire which of course can only be released after the big day in April.

The Franklin Mint says that the Princess Diana collection of memorabilia was the biggest selling to date. Keep in mind kids, that was before the internets were born:

“The memorabilia will be much more available in the world market just because you can buy things on the internet … It will have a positive impact on the merchandising of this event.”

While I love me some Royal Family events, I’m not about to serve dinner on plates with their faces on them, nor do I see a need for a doll. However, to each his own and you just know The Franklin Mint is going to be laughing in their tea and crumpets all the way to the money vault.

One would think that the Royal Family would be controlling the merchandising of this wedding, but a rock concert it’s not. They realize they couldn’t possibly control all of it but just ask that the collection be kept classic. In other words, scratch that toilet paper idea you just jotted down: ”We want items that are permanent and significant.” Mind you isn’t their a condom out  their with the royal couple on the package?

Sarah Ferguson wasn’t invited to Prince William and Kate Middleton’s Royal Wedding because she got her toes sucked at one point in her life. Big deal. Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it.

Apparently this embarrassed Queen Elizabeth to no end. I bet Queen Elizabeth has a Dominatrix outfit neatly (of course neatly, she’s Royalty) tucked away in her closet along with a stash of porn tapes. According to Popeater:

As longtime British royal family watcher Mark Saunders told CNN: “Fergie has long been considered an embarrassment to the royal family, ever since she was photographed having her toes sucked by her financial adviser at a villa in Saint-Tropez.”

Queen Elizabeth’s son, Prince Charles (father of Prince William) carried on a decades-long affair with his now-wife Camille Parker Bowles while married to Princess Diana. How is that not an embarrassment?

What about Prince Harry’s public antics with his alleged racist remarks (actually I think a tape exists so maybe it’s not so alleged..the video is no longer on YouTube but his public apology is)?

And we won’t even get started on the rumours about Queen Elizabeth’s own husband.

Sarah’s children Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie as well as Sarah’s ex-husband Prince Andrew are all invited. Personally I think that is very tacky on the part of the Royal Family. Sarah is the mother to the girls and was a very close friend and confidante of Princess Diana and out of respect for her (at least) she should be invited.

While the tapes that came out last year of her trying to get $700,000 to promise access to her ex-husband were probably the worst of what she’s done, she was in financial dire straights and was desperate. Not making excuses for her. It was really stupid on her part, but I’m sure of all 1900 people invited to the Royal Wedding, there are a few in that crowd who have probably done worse.

Prince Williams needs to gather up his royal jewels and take a stand in this.

Royal sources say that the President and his wife are not on the guest list because their wedding is not classified as a ‘state occasion’.

Apparently the Prince and his fiancee are wanting more “normal” people to attend their wedding.  I can totally respect that.  If I was the bride, even if I was marrying a prince, I wouldn’t want the President of the United States stealing my freaking thunder.

President Reagan and his wife Nancy were invited to Princess Diana’s wedding, so it would be more traditional to have Obama there.  But I say, more power to the bride and groom for doing what they want.

Everyone loves a wedding but a Royal Wedding is so freaking exciting. I don’t know why, other than it’s like a fairytale in ways. Kate Middleton is going to make a stunning Princess. I hope her Prince William loves her the way his mom deserved (and wanted) to be treated.

It’s quite an honour that Kate was proposed to with Princess Diana’s ring, but it is a sad reminder of how Diana met her fate and I hope to gawd that the pappers give this royal couple some space even if just out of respect for Diana. If you want to see a flashback in magazine covers of Diana’s royal wedding check these out. Diana died in a Paris car crash in 1996, when she was 36.

Kate’s parents Michael and Carole Middleton, look like they are giddy teenagers, they look so happy. I don’t think the sentiment that  ’no son is good enough for my daughter’ is going to apply in this case. I mean he seems decent enough and you know he’s marrying for love. It’s so perfect. They said of the engagement:

“I would just like to say that Carole and I are absolutely delighted by today’s announcement and thrilled at the prospect of a wedding some time next year,” Michael said. “As you know Katherine and Prince William have been going out together for quite a number of years which has been great for us because we have got to know William very well.

“We all think he is wonderful and we are extremely fond of him. They make a lovely couple, they are great fun to be with, and we’ve had a lot of laughs together. We wish them every happiness for the future.”

They really are a lovely couple who have a wonderful life ahead of them. I’ve also included shots of the Queen smiling quite the smile as well as the excitement on the estate of Kate Middleton’s parents.

It’s Official: Prince William and Kate Middleton Are Engaged

When asked about the proposal, Kate told journalists:

“He’s a true romantic,” “We had a holiday in Africa and it was out there, in a very quiet lodge. It was very romantic and a very personal time for both of us.

“It’s quite a daunting prospect to join the royal family but hopefully I’ll take it in my stride. William is a great teacher so I hope he’ll help me along the way, I’m really look forward to it and spending my time with him.”

Prince William discussed his reason for giving Kate his mom’s ring (get your tissues out..this guy is not only romantic but sentimental)

“As you may have recognised it’s my mother’s engagement ring so it’s very special to me. As Kate’s very special to me now, it’s the two put together,” he said. “It’s my way of making sure my mother didn’t miss out on today and the excitement and fact that we’re going to spend the rest of our lives together.”

William praised Kate’s sense of fun and said they both enjoy mocking one another when asked why they were so in love. Kate loves how Williams always has her best interests at heart (and THAT’s a huge thing):

“Over the years he’s looked after me and treated me well, he’s a loving boyfriend. He’s very, very supportive of me through the good times and also the bad times,”

I think I’m going to explode with excitement over the upcoming marriage.
