“I want to encourage young women and empower them to be professional and to have confidence in who they are,” Selita said at The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation’s 20th Annual A Magical Evening Gala in New York on November 17. “I want to teach them all the lessons I’ve learned in life.  I want readers to see that I can relate.”

I am afraid that anyone who looks at Selita and thinks about confidence is going to want to hide in a dark cave.  Most women can only dream of having the body, fame, and fortune she has.  But hey, she can try and give the pep talk.

Selita spent some time in foster care and will be using her experience to help relate to some of her readers.  The new author is  planning to release this book for women early next year.  But you know what I say?  Put a picture like the one above on the cover, and you’ll sell twice as many to the men!

Twilight’s Ashley Greene celebrated her Maxim cover with the help of friends: Selita Ebanks, Collin Egglesfield, Shaun Sipos, and Nick Cohen.  No Kellan Lutz?  Notice she lights up like a lightbulb when Kellan is around?  I’m just saying.

Ashley talks to E! Online about her cover and how she contrasts with her Alice Cullen:

“I think the fact that she is a vampire and she is indestructible is that edgy sexy part of her. In real life, I don’t really have that,” she said. “The cover…I absoutely adore it and I don’t think it could have come out any better for me. I’m very much a Jacksonville beach girl. I love jean shorts, T-shirts, the beach.”

She does that cover very well, no?

Mary J. Blige was honoured last night at the New Yorkers For Children’s ‘Make It Happen’ Tenth Annual Gala with the Nicholas Scoppetta Child Welfare Award.

Anderson Cooper hosted the event that helped to raise over $1.5 Million to benefit educational programs.  The site can be accessed here.

Michelle Trachtenberg looks so pretty as she attends the GUESS Flagship Boutique opening in NYC hosted by Marie Claire.  Fans of Michelle’s will be seeing lots more of her on Gossip Girl as she returns to reprise her role as Blair’s freshman year roommate.

Drew Barrymore is joined by castmates Jessica Lange and Jeanne Tripplehorn for the HBO Premeire of ‘Grey Garden’s’ in New York.  Imdb describes this movie as:

Based on the life stories of the eccentric aunt and first cousin of Jackie Onassis (both named Edith Bouvier Beale aka “Big and Little Edie”) raised as Park Avenue débutantes but who withdrew from New York society, taking shelter at their Long Island summer home, “Grey Gardens.” As their wealth and contact with the outside world dwindled, so did their grasp on reality. They were reintroduced to the world when international tabloids learned of a health department raid on their home, and Jackie swooped in to save her relatives.

Selita’s dress is gorgeous!!  Normally I’m not a fan of how Chloe Sevigny dresses, but I like what she has on in these pics.  Is it my imagination or does Deborah Norville look younger??
