Shakira got her hair did and she cut it off in a very big way! There must be something in the air: Katy Perry just chopped hers off as well. Is this a new trend? Do you like the short cut on Shakira? Take a look at her before and after picture and judge for yourself.

The style is gorgeous but something about it doesn't work for me. Maybe it's the color of her lipstick, or is her hair too light? Either way I'm sure it's much easier to take care of than when it was long.

Shakira and her boyfriend of 11 years Antonio de la Rua have taken a break from one another she announced to Spanish-language newspaper El Pais. In addition to that she posted this on her blog:

Dear Friends,

During our almost 11 years together we have loved each other deeply, taken care of each other and stood by one another. They have been the most wonderful years of our lives, and thanks to that love and the respect that we share for one another we have been an exceptional couple and partners.

However, since August 2010, we made a mutual decision to take time apart from our romantic relationship. Throughout this time we have continued to work together hand in hand, have remained close and have kept the details absolutely private until now.

We view this period of separation as temporary and as a time of individual growth as we continue to be partners in our business and professional lives.

Antonio continues to oversee and conduct my business and career interests as he has always done. We move forward as partners, developing projects together, working hand in hand and in close communication. Our friendship and understanding of one another is unwavering and indestructible.

We would like to advise that we will not be giving interviews or making more statements with respect to this matter and we appreciate in advance your understanding and respect during this sensitive time in our lives.

Shakira’s  latest music video from her upcoming album, Sale el  Sol set to release on October 19th is sure to make you get up and try your best to shake your hips with her insane rhythm.  ’Loca’ featuring Dizzee Rascal is a fun, fresh, daring video that was filmed in Barcelona and even landed Shakira and the crew in a bit of trouble with the cops there when she did the scene in the fountain.  But it was worth it, right?  It’s hot!  Shakira ditches the stilettos for some roller skates and she completely owns it.

Seeing these pictures of Shakira at Madison Square Gardens last night makes me want to drop to the floor and spend the day doing stomach crunches. Of course once I finish eating my breakfast donuts.

She opened the show with every heterosexual male’s fantasy of her:

“I am here to please you”

She got a good review in The New York Times. I quickly skimmed the review so I don’t know if the concert was sold out or not but I imagine that is one show very much worth seeing.

Shakira has herself a fragrance and it’s simply called S by Shakira.  The poster ad for it is gorgeous, isn’t it?

Why not try to expand your brand as much as you can? You never know when the career is going to dry up so it makes sense to capitalize it, I think.

Shakira is in Johannesburg, South Africa where she launched the 2010 FIFA World Cup song Waka Waka (This Time For Africa) which is sponsored by Sony 3D.

The Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF took a trip to Isu’lihle Primary School to visit the children where she stressed to reporters the importance of education:

“(The World Cup is) a great opportunity to bring all the attention to issues as important as education. Seventy-two million kids around the world (are) not able to attend school, of which 32 million are African. So this is our chance to make this World Cup’s lasting legacy education for all.”

Shakira will perform at the opening ceremonies of  The 2010 FIFA World Cup which starts tomorrow.
