Technically this could be classified as breaking news because Taylor Momsen is usually only seen in lingerie and garters exposing herself, but she showed up at New York Fashion Week in a DRESS. Over her lingerie. I haven't quite yet consumed my regular 2 cups of caffeine yet so I could be imagining things here but I'm almost certain it's a dress. The Pretty Reckless singer was seen outside the Marchesa event yesterday.

Taylor Momsen of the band The Pretty Reckless promotes 'Light Me Up'

Taylor Momsen is a 17-year-old girl who apparently has no clue what it means to be unique and classy all at the same time.  It’s really sad to see her make a constant ass out of herself.

The Pretty Reckless frontwoman flashed the crowd during their  Sunday performance at the Download Festival in Castle Donington, England. Oh but maybe in her twisted mind, covering her nips in black tape is classy?

“I’m an extremist and I very much enjoy pushing the boundaries when it comes to fashion,” Momsen told Us Weekly at the Kids’ Choice Awards in April. “I don’t care what people have to say about my style. Fashion’s not for everyone. I’m not asking you to wear it.”

Really?  Cause I just thought it was tacky….

Taylor Momsen and her band The Pretty Reckless were out promoting their new album ‘Light Me Up’ at Best Buy Union Square in New York City yesterday.  I am the first to admit, I am not a fan of Taylor’s attitude or her fashion sense.  They irritate the crap out of me if I am being honest.  But, she does have talent….. it would be perfect if she didn’t taint it with all the nasty lingerie and perverted “acts” she puts on.

Anyhow, every once in awhile, she smiles in public.  This was one of those moments!  Next, I’d like to see her in jeans and a T-shirt without any makeup on… at least without the raccoon eyes.

Lock your teen daughters up. Taylor Momsen wants her own fashion line. The Gossip Girl actress and lead singer for The Pretty Reckless is thankfully too busy to embark on her own line:

I’ve always wanted to have a line at some point but when I do do that I really want to have the time to be able to commit to it properly. Right now I’m so busy but sometime in the future I would love to have a line, absolutely. I’ll be very involved in the design and all of it, I want to spend all my time making it the best it can possibly be. I don’t want to just put my name on it and have other people do all the work.”

The 17 year old actress did do a stint as the face of Madonna and her daughter Lorde’s fashion line, The Material Girl but has since been replaced by Kelly Osbourne. She was also suspended from Gossip Girl, so I guess she is too busy with the debut album of The Pretty Reckless to work on the fashion line, but that’s okay. She says of her unique sense of fashion:

I try to be original and have my own style, there’s a certain way I love to dress. I’ve always dressed differently to all the other kids but that’s the great thing about fashion, it doesn’t have to be for everyone. It’s personal and however you look is a reflection of you. I draw inspiration from different eras – I love the 60s and I love Edie Sedgewick but I wouldn’t say I dress exactly like that. I just try to make everything my own.”

She certainly is original for someone her age. And by that I mean she dresses in lingerie.  Her line shouldn’t be too complicated to design: bras, undies, stockings and garter belts. She doesn’t save the lingerie look for her onstage performances only. She attended Justin Bieber’s ‘Never Say Never’ premiere in probably one of the most inappropriate premiere outfits EVER. Perhaps by the time she gets around to designing it, her style will have changed?

Taylor Momsen is only 17 years old, I know that.  But the average 17 year old is getting ready to graduate high school and knows their geography pretty well.  For Taylor, that is not the case.

While she was performing in Glasgow, she told the crowd that they were  ”the craziest crowd in the whole of England.”  The average bear knows that it’s in Scotland, not England.

One of the guys in the crowd, Paul Krane told the Daily Record newspaper,

“People began to cheer as they presumed she was going to say Scotland, but when the penny dropped all you could hear was boos.”

Later on Momsen thought a Twitter apology would do,

“Glasgow, I love you, I now HAVE to tour SCOTLAND (haha, sorry bout the slip up!).”

I don’t think anyone cared at that point.  She should have realized her mistake while on stage, when they needed to hear that she knew where in the world she was.

“I think she needs to go back to school for geography lessons,” said offended fan Stuart Neilson, 23. “There really isn’t any excuse. Surely someone backstage could have said something to her.”

Honestly, Taylor Momsen gets a huge advantage over the average high school students…. she gets to learn her geography by actually traveling the world.  Big.  Fat.  Fail.

Taylor Momsen has been placed on ‘hiatus’ from Gossip Girl amid reports that her behaviour is becoming increasingly volatile. She’s only been in three episodes so far this fall, but after next Monday’s episode she will begin an ‘indefinite hiatus‘:

Although reps for The CW and producer Warner Bros. declined to comment, sources confirm that Momsen’s Jenny will be MIA for at least four episodes beginning with the show’s midseason finale on Dec. 6.

It’s not just her questionable wardrobe, and stage antics (think flashing her can-cans) but she’s pissed off people including Tim Gunn of Project Runway who appeared on an episode last month:

“What a diva,” he told E! News. “She was pathetic, she couldn’t remember her lines, and she didn’t even have that many. I thought to myself, ‘Why are we being held hostage by this brat?’”

Someone on the inside of the show says her reduction in lines is also for ‘creative reasons’.
