If you've never watched Friday Night Lights you can't appreciate how great the news is that a movie is coming out of the hit TV series that got canceled way before its time. The series that ran from 2006 to 2011 was about football in a small Texas town that focused on the lives of the football players, coaches and teachers. It was SO well done and this year picked up 3 much-deserved Emmys. When they announced this series over a little part of me died. Sounds dramatic but it's true. This show really tugged at your heart.

Connie Britton confirmed to US Weekly that a Friday Night Lights movie is happening:

"It's happening for realsies,"  "Pete is totally fired up to do it and I know Jason Katims is talking about writing a script. I think it's really a matter of…getting everyone's busy schedules aligned and making it happen," says Britton. "It kind of feels like there's a lot of commitment to it."

The Pete she refers to is the executive producer of the show Pete Berg and Connie promises to do everything she can "I for one will do my part in trying to push it along," 

I love you Connie! Obviously this is in the very early stages and hopefully all the pieces of the puzzle that need to be put into place can! Did you watch Friday Night Lights?

AMC has released a whole big batch of character pics ahead of the season two premiere of its hit zombie series, "The Walking Dead"! I'm excited. This is a well-written, well-made show with a great cast. "The Walking Dead" features a cast that includes, Andrew Lincoln as Sheriff Rick Grimes, Sarah Wayne Callies ("Prison Break") as his wife Lori, Jon Bernthal ("The Class", The Ghost Writer) as Deputy Shane Walsh, Laurie Holden ("The Shield") as Andrea, Jeffrey DeMunn (The Shawshank Redemption, Green Mile among others) as Dale, Norman Reedus (The Boondock Saints) as Daryl Dixon, Steven Yeun ("The Big Bang Theory") as Glen, Emma Bell (Frozen) as Amy and Chandler Riggs (Get Low) as Carl Grimes.  The new season begins October 16.

True Blood werewolf hottie Joe Manganiello is going to be making a guest appearance on Two and A Half Men which will grace our televisions on October 24. 

He will play the boyfriend of the ex-wife of Ashton Kutcher's character Walden. The lucky actress is Judy Greer who will be playing ex-wife Bridget. Whether this will be a recurring role remains to be seen, but let's hope their 'relationship' on the show is a long one. At least until True Blood comes back on for the next season.

Did you watch the new season of Two and A Half Men with Ashton Kutcher? What did you think? I love Ashton but I didn't find the first episode all that funny but these things need time I guess (I hope).

This is for "Fearless Leader" who is seriously enamored of Canadian cutie Kiefer Sutherland. It looks like he's returning to series television, which means she'll be lost to us for at least an hour every week. Dateline is reporting that creator/writer Tim Kring's pilot for a drama called "Touch", which was shot this past summer starring Sutherland, has been given a 13 episode order by Fox and will be added to their lineup next Spring.

This is the official press release: 

"TOUCH is a distinct and colorful drama in which science and spirituality intersect with the hopeful premise that we are all interconnected, tied in invisible ways to those whose lives we are destined to alter and impact.

At the center of TOUCH is MARTIN BOHM (Sutherland), a widower and single father, haunted by an inability to connect to his mute 11-year-old son, JAKE (David Mazouz). After multiple failed attempts at keeping Jake in school, Martin is visited by CLEA HOPKINS (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), a social worker sent to evaluate Jake’s well-being. Everything changes when Martin discovers that Jake possesses the gift of staggering genius – the ability to see things that no one else can and the patterns that connect seemingly unrelated events. Jake is indeed communicating. But it’s not with words, it’s with numbers. Martin meets ARTHUR DEWITT (Danny Glover), a professor and an expert on children who possess special gifts when it comes to numbers. Now, it’s up to Martin to decipher the meaning and connect the numbers to the cast of characters whose lives they affect."

Sutherland is also an executive producer on the series.

E! Online got their hands on a 30 second video of the season premiere of  Grey’s Anatomy. Don’t watch if you don’t want to know because it will totally spoil it for you.

What will happen to Meredith and Derek? It didn’t end very well last season if you recall. Is it any better this season?

The two hour season premiere airs Thursday September 22 at 9/8c on ABC.

Jason Patric just finished filming a TV pilot in Chicago (thanks Teresa!) called Powers where he plays detective Christian Walker.

Based on the graphic novel of the same name, Jason’s character works in the part of the police station that deals with crimes involving superpowers only. I’m guessing  this is the toughest gig in the police department. Charles S. Dutton, Carly Foulkes, Bailee Madison and Lucy Punch round out the cast of this show. Lucy plays Detective Deena Pilgrim, who happens to be Walker’s partner.

FX President John Landgraf says of the genre:

“The superhero genre is ripe for reinvention,” “Everything television has ever done in that genre is the equivalent of [a 7 or 8] o’clock show — light, breezy [and] special effects-oriented. I’m not saying that ‘Powers’ isn’t fun, but it aspires to be a serious drama, and it’s fascinating to me to try to reshape and reinvent familiar genres.”

If the series is picked up, you can expect to catch the first glimpse of the show in June 2012. What do you think of the concept of this show? Too far fetched or a nice change?

True Blood has been renewed for a fifth season thanks to the obviously smart suits at HBO.  Twelve more episodes have been ordered (thank you jesus) and that means another season of nudity and vampire sex.  Allan Ball says of the decision:

“I remain amazed and delighted by the enthusiasm of our viewers,” “I can’t imagine having more fun than this.”

Nor can we. Did you watch Sunday’s episode? Did you see all the sex Snooki and Eric had? It was very tender and erotic. Who would ever imagine that from Eric, especially given earlier seasons’ sex scenes where we witnessed him having rough sex (as did Snooki). Not that there is anything wrong with that *cough*.

Season 4 ends on September 11 and the show is proving to be even more popular than last season up 6% to 5.4 million viewers.

Do you watch? Prior to season 4 my husband and I did a marathon of seasons 1-3 and I have to admit  that the first two shows I was like ‘why is this so popular’. I would never have thought it would have taken place in the South. But if you stick with it, it is WORTH it! What a great show.

Nucky’s head is spinning! HBO has released a trailer for season two of its brilliant series “Boardwalk Empire”. (It’s amazing to me after thirty five years, they’re still the best game in town and consistently set the bar for every other premium cable network. You’d think they’d have been able to teach broadcast networks a thing or two by now.)

Man o’ Man my Fall is filling up fast! How can I watch television (I know, it’s not television, it’s HBO) when I’m going to be at the theater every waking moment? I suppose I have to make time to actually work too! Well, the dvr is definitely going to see some action. I was already all in for this show, but now I’m buzzing!

This trailer encapsulates the world of Nucky Thompson (Steve Buscemi, looking particularly cadaverous), and turns a leisurely walk along his beloved boardwalk into a walking nightmare. Every character who plagued him or gave him cause for concern in the first season makes an appearance, with particular attention paid to those that are sure to feature prominently in the second, namely his brother Eli Thompson (Shea Whigham), his erstwhile protege Jimmy Darmody (Michael Pitt), the already lethal Al Capone (Stephen Graham) and the long suffering Margaret Schroeder (Kelly Macdonald). I did not see Michael Shannon’s Agent Van Alden, but he was probably unavailable on trailer day due to previous commitments.

Season 2 of “Boardwalk Empire” premieres on September 25 where else but HBO.
