Like all working mothers, Thandie Newton, who has 2 daughters with husband Ol Parker, says challenges are the norm in her life and she rather likes it:

“I suppose it is challenging, but I don’t see it that way. I expect things to be challenging. That’s life. I don’t expect things to be as easy as sitting on a beach in Ibiza “I like how it works. It’s like a machine where we’ve all got our part. We’re just normal, decent people.”

And those challenges have extended to the love scenes that are an occupational hazzard:

“When I made Besieged in 1998 I sensed he found it challenging. I said to him, ‘I promise you this is more challenging for me than it is for you. And in light of that, I need your support. For you to be jealous or threatened by it only adds to the difficulty of what I have to do. And I need you to help and support me.’ It’s never been an issue since then.”

Her husband is a very secure man if her scenes with Gerard Butler in RockNRolla didn’t bother him (mind you he was very ill so she refused to kiss him, so I don’t think they really had hot and heavy scenes).  Would your significant other be threatened by your love scenes if you were an actor?

The movie 2012 premiered in Los Angeles last night and after reading the plot, it’s kind of scary:

An epic adventure about a global cataclysm that brings an end to the world and tells of the heroic struggle of the survivors

The tagline for this movie?  We Were Warned.  *gulp*

I can’t imagine the world coming to an end and then being one of the few who survive!!!  But if it did, I would hope that I had gone on a mini spending spree beforehand charging all of my purchases to my credit card  It’s not like I would be receiving the bill, yes?

Lots of star power in this movie at the premiere: Thandie Newton, John Cusack, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Amanda Peet, Danny Glover, Woody Harrelson as well as other celebs attending:  Sofia Vergara, Jason Biggs, Shannon Sossaman,  Adam Lambert and Camilla Belle and lots of others.

George Clooney takes his lovely new lady Elisabetta Canalis to The Times BFI London Film Festival: Fantastic Mr Fox opening gala at the Odeon Leicester Square.  And perhaps he is ready to settle down with having some kids:

“I am planning to adopt. I am going to adopt some of Brad Pitt’s kids. I owe him.”

Even one kid running around my villa makes me nervous, so I’m definitely not a candidate for father of the year. If I need to surround myself with children and feel like I have this big extended family, I can always call Brad and Angelina and ask them to stay with me, just to remind myself why I’m so happy.”

After his appearance on Jay Leno, Gerard Butler attended the Los Angeles premiere of RockNRolla (thanks again to Rebecca for that heads up).  He was joined by his costars Idris Elba and Thandie Newton.  I LOVE Thandie’s dress and the way she has done her make up.  She looks beautiful.  Idris looks hot as always.  I remember at TIFF what great energy he had.

What more can I say except enjoy and don’t let the drool hit the keyboard!!
