“Family is worth fighting for.”

Lionsgate has released new set pics for Gavin O’Connor’s action drama, Warrior featuring Tom Hardy and Joel Edgerton (some are even shirtless!). Hardy plays Tom Conlon, a recently returned vet, the youngest son of an alcoholic former boxer (Nick Nolte) who also happens to have been his coach. Tom enlist his help in training him for a mixed martial arts competition that will award the biggest prize in the history of the sport. The fight will end up putting Tom in the ring with his older brother Brendan (Joel Edgerton),a former MMA fighter and now a school teacher with a wife, kids and money problems. The two brothers have to confront each other as well as the problems that have kept them apart.

The cast also includes Jennifer Morrison (“House”) as Brendan’s wife Tess, Noah Emmerich, Kevin Dunn, and the director himself, Gavin O’Connor

Warrior has been completed for over a year and finally has a distributor. It opens September 9 in the US & Canada and 23 September in the UK.  Can’t wait!

Tom Hardy has been taking brief breaks from the set of Christopher Nolan’s latest Batman project, The Dark Knight Rises, as he continues on the European publicity circuit for another film, Gavin O’Connor’s Warrior co-starring Joel Edgarton.

A short (very short) clip has surfaced of Tom talking about how Nolan likes to play everything close to the vest and only reveals as much, even to his actors, as he needs on any given day (that would drive me bonkers!).

“I know less about the project that I’m filming with that man because Chris Nolan doesn’t tell you anything, so I don’t know who I’m playing, or what I’m doing, until the morning that I’m working,” Hardy told Allocine partly joking. “Everything is subject to change with Chris Nolan, but on the whole, yeah, I know which information is true and false.”

The plot is pure speculation for anyone but the most inside of insiders (which is driving Batman geeks bonkers.) It is believed that Batman (Christian Bale) will be fighting the mysterious League of Shadows; the army of assassins led by Ra’s al Ghul (played by Liam Neeson in Batman Begins), this time led by his daughter Talia al Ghul (Marion Cotillard) and her henchman, Bane (Hardy).

The rest of the cast includes Ann Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt (marking a reunion of three of Nolan’s players fromInception), Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Juno Temple, Matthew Modine, Brett Cullen, Tom Conti, Nestor Carbonell….PHEW!

Another summer of Batman begins on 20 July 2012 when The Dark Knight Rises will open in the US, Canada and the UK.

Tom Hardy and Joel Edgerton play the  battling Conlon brothers in director Gavin O’Connor’s forthcoming film Warriors. Hardy plays Tommy, an ex-Marine just back from Afghanistan and Edgerton plays Brendan, a schoolteacher with money problems. They’re both former MMA fighters and end up back in the ring (cage?) fighting each other for a championship. Nick Nolte plays the pair’s grizzled father who coaches Tommy.

Back in March, actress Jennifer Morrison (House) who also stars in the film as Edgerton’s wife, posted this teaser on her Facebook wall:

Now a new poster has dropped showing the two gorgeous specimens sans shirts. Edgerton comes off the best I think. (What is that? A 12 pack??) While Hardy’s tatts are delicious (and very real) his gorgeous mouth looks distorted, as if he’s wearing his mouth guard from the fight. (Trust me, I’ve made a study of this man’s lips.) What I like about both the trailer and the poster, aside from the obvious, is that we aren’t immediately sure who we’re supposed to be rooting for!

Warrior (finally!) opens 9 September 2011.

Focus Features has announced a November 18, 2011 US release date for Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. YAY!

This is without a doubt one of the most hotly-anticipated films of the year. It’s certainly in my top 3.  I hope this means we’ll be getting a trailer soon! I’m dying to know what’s up with Tom Hardy’s character (among other things.) Speaking of Tom Hardy, have I mentioned lately how insane this cast is??

Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, Tom Hardy, Mark Strong, Benedict Cumberbatch, Ciaran Hinds, Mark Strong,  Toby Jones, John Hurt, Stephen Graham, Simon McBurney and Kathy Burke*. this is like a Who’s Who of British character actors, (plus the very adorable Jamie Thomas King from “The Tudors” and then there are a couple of Russians thrown in just to stir things up.)

Also, without having seen a single frame of footage from this film, my estimation of the new Three Musketeers remake has just gone up a notch (okay, half a notch) since Peter Straughn wrote the screenplays for both films.

New images from Tomas Alfredson’s Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy have surfaced over the weekend. Pictured below are Colin Firth, whose character name has not been revealed, and Tom Hardy as “Tricky” Ricki Tarr.

Gary Oldman plays British Intelligence operative George Smiley, whose task is to uncover a Soviet agent who has infiltrated MI-6, the highest echelon in the British Intelligence Services. (This is a larger version of a previously released image.)

Colin Firth would look good wearing sack cloth and ashes so frankly, I don’t care who he plays, I’ll buy a ticket.

I believe I’ve made my feelings for Tom Hardy and that gorgeous mouth plain as well. But with a name like “Tricky” Ricki Tarr and what appears to be an alluring shade of red lipstick on those luscious lips, I do have to wonder what exactly is the nature of the rabbit hole that Smiley must go down to get his man. I suppose I should read the book.

Also in the high-powered cast: Benedict Cumberbatch, Ciaran Hinds, Mark Strong, Svetlana Khodchenko, Toby Jones, John Hurt, Stephen Graham and Kathy Burke. The film is slated to open the Venice Film Festival in early September and is set for a UK release on 16 September. No US date has yet been listed.

We got a sneak peek at Tom Hardy as Bane in Batman:  ’The Dark Knight Rises‘ as the first photo was released for the much anticipated movie that is due in theatres July 12, 2012. That seems like a long way away but trust me poodles, it will be here before you know it. All good things come in time!

The budget for this monster film? Two hundred and fifty MILLION. That’s right! $250,000,000.

If you think about it, it’s a little more than a year before this film is released and the teasing is already beginning! This seems to be the latest trend in Hollywood whether it be movies or albums.

This tease involved a hunt for fans until the first picture was revealed. Warner Brothers is going to make the fans work for their teasers, aren’t they? The hunt led to a Twitter account (@TheFireRises) that revealed this first picture in addition to a website that was unveiled.

Actors added to the movie: Matthew Modine,Tom Conti, and Joey King, who join already confirmed actors Anne Hathaway and Josh Pence.

Tell me, do you like the teasers a year beforehand or is it a little too much?

The Weinstein Company has emerged as the likely winner in the bidding war for distribution rights to The Wettest County in the World, the prohibition-era drama starring Tom Hardy, Shia LaBeouf, Gary Oldman, Guy Pearce, Jason Clarke…lord, excuse me…I’ll just be another minute. (If this keeps up, I may not make it til the film’s release.) Oh and on the distaff side, there’s hot “IT” girls Jessica Chastain and Mia Wasikowska. Can you tell I’m looking forward to this?

The King of All Hollywood, Ryan Kavanaugh, and his Relativity Media had been the front runner going into the weekend. In fact some sources had proclaimed him the winner. Word is that they lost out because they wanted to wait for a final cut, which would have pushed the release of the film back well into 2012. With the Weinstein’s bid almost a done deal, this paves the way for an end of year limited release, in time for awards season, and a wider opening (is it me or did that sound filthy?) in early 2012.

Jessica Chastain talked to E!Online recently and apparently “Brad Pitt is very annoying because he’s…perfect!”but Tom Hardy is “hot.”

Jessica Chastain, whom most people have probably never heard of, is about to become HUGE! She’s appearing in Terence Malick’s eagerly awaited Tree of Life, as well as Ralph Fiennes’ directorial debut, Coriolanus, with Fiennes and Gerard Butler, both of which are screening at the Cannes Film Festival this month.

She is currently filming The Wettest County in the World with Tom Hardy, Shia LeBeouf, Gary Oldman, and Guy Pearce (‘Scuse me, I need a moment. They had me at Tom Hardy. The rest is just an embarrassment of riches).

Reportedly Chastain’s love (read: S-E-X) scenes with Hardy are pretty steamy:

“I play this gun moll from Chicago who meets these three brothers and has a romance with Tom’s character,” she explained. “The thing about Tom Hardy is he more brilliant than he is hot,” she said. “It’s crazy. He’s actually a better actor than he is hot—and he is hot!”

I would have to agree. A few pics of Tom Hardy, who will next be seen in Warrior with Joel Edgarton and Nick Nolte, as Bane in The Dark Knight Rises have surfaced on the web.

He looks to have bulked back up to his Bronson weight and his head has once again been shaved. Bane will probably spend most of the movie in some elaborate costume, which is fine with me as long as I can still recognize those gorgeous lips!
