Oscar nominated actor Tony Curtis (real name Bernard Schwartz has passed away ET is exclusively reporting via his daughter Jamie Lee Curtis’ rep.

He’s probably best known for his role in Some Like It Hot with Marilyn Monroe and The Defiant Ones with Sidney Poitier which earned him an Oscar nomination in 1959. He had gone on to star in a number of films since then and was even in the process of filming Morella with Tom Sizemore (it is rumoured).

He was also an avid painter and had many showings of his work at art galleries in both London and New York.

The 85 year old actor leaves behind wife number six Jill Vandenberg Curtis who he married in 1998.  With his first three wives he fathered six children in total (2 with each) with one son Nicholas Curtis dying of a heroin overdose on July 2, 1994.
