First Official Look at Colin Farrell in Seven Psychopaths!

First Official Look at Colin Farrell in Seven Psycopaths!

Back in December we told you about writer/director Martin McDonagh's (In Bruge) new action-comedy Seven Psychopaths, starring Colin Farrell, Sam Rockwell, Christopher Walken, Woody Harrelson, Tom Waits and Olga Kurylenko, with a few pics from the set. Today, thanks to Entertainment Weekly (by way of ComingSoon), we have the first official stills from the film.

Farrell plays as a struggling screenwriter who inadvertently becomes entangled in the Los Angeles criminal underworld after his oddball friends,  a out of work actor (Rockwell) and a thief who steals dogs to ransom back to their owners (Walken), kidnap a gangster's (Harrelson) beloved Shih Tzu, Bonny. In McDonagh’s hands, I can just imagine the black comic hijinks that will ensue. As I said before, the only thing that could make this better would be if Brendan Gleeson was playing one of those characters.

Seven Psychopaths is expected to hit theaters this fall. I will be first in line. More on this as we get it.

Final Poster and New Image for The Hunger Games!

Final Poster and New Image for The Hunger Games!

“The World Will Be Watching”

Well, Lionsgate certainly hopes so. (Pffft…like this movie won’t be HUGE!) We a new poster for The Hunger Games, which features an up close shot of Jennifer Lawrence's Katniss Everdeen taking deadly aim at us through the crosshairs of her bow and arrow. We’re told it’s the ‘final poster’, but the movie doesn’t come out until March 23 and we’ve heard that before.

Also, courtesy of EW, we have a new image of Katniss and Peeta Mellark dressed and ready for the opening ceremony of The Games, getting some last minute advice perhaps? Not having read the books, I have no clue.

Directed by Gary Ross (PleasantvilleSea Biscuit), The Hunger Games is an adaptation of the first book of Suzanne Collins' wildly popular dystopian YA series, from a script cowritten by Ross and Collins and it has managed to amass one helluva cast. Lawrence in the coveted lead role of Katniss Everdeen,  Hutcherson as Peeta, Elizabeth Banks as Effie Trinket, Lenny Kravitz as Cinna, Woody Harrelson as Haymitch Abernathy, Liam Hemsworth as Gale Hawthorne, Donald Sutherland as President Snow, Stanley Tucci as Caesar Flickerman, Toby Jones as Claudius Templesmith and Wes Bentley as Seneca Crane.

Synopsis: In a not-too-distant future, the United States of America has collapsed, weakened by drought, fire, famine, and war, to be replaced by Panem, a country divided into the Capitol and 12 districts. Each year, two young representatives from each district are selected by lottery to participate in The Hunger Games. Part entertainment, part brutal intimidation of the subjugated districts, the televised games are broadcasted throughout Panem as the 24 participants are forced to eliminate their competitors, literally, with all citizens required to watch. When 16-year-old Katniss’ young sister, Prim, is selected as the mining district’s female representative, Katniss volunteers to take her place. She and her male counterpart, Peeta, the son of the town baker who seems to have all the fighting skills of a lump of bread dough, will be pitted against bigger, stronger representatives who have trained for this their whole lives.

The Hunger Games is due for release March 23, 2012 everywhere.

Profusion of Pics, Part One!

Profusion of Pics, Part One!

I have got treats, lots and lots of treats, that I’ve been hoarding storing up for a rainy day…actually just haven’t been able to get to) Well, today’s the day. In this post I have new pics for Men in Black III, Prometheus, Lovelace, Snow White and the Huntsman and The Hunger Games

Profusion of Pics, Part One!

Men in Black III: “Agents J (Will Smith) and K (Tommy Lee Jones) are back… in time. J has seen some inexplicable things in his 15 years with the Men in Black, but nothing, not even aliens, perplexes him as much as his wry, reticent partner. But when K’s life and the fate of the planet are put at stake, Agent J will have to travel back in time to put things right. J discovers that there are secrets to the universe that K never told him — secrets that will reveal themselves as he teams up with the young Agent K (Josh Brolin) to save his partner, the agency, and the future of humankind.”

We also offer a first look at villain, Boris, played by Flight of the Conchords' Jemaine Clement. The movie opens almost everywhere in the known universe on May 25.

Profusion of Pics, Part One!

Here’s are two new images from Sir Ridley Scott’s Prometheus, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, which leads them on a journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race. The pics show Noomi Rapace (who has described her character, Elizabeth Shaw, as the “Ripley” of the piece) in more detail as well as the “space jockeys” in the background.

Prometheus takes over theaters on 1st June in the UK and June 8 in the US and Canada.

Profusion of Pics, Part One!

We have a first look at Amanda Seyfried as Linda Lovelace in the biopic, Lovelace, about the porn star and her relationship with her abusive husband, Chuck Traynor (Peter Sarsgaard). James Franco plays Hugh Hefner. Lovelace has no set release date yet. More info to follow.

Profusion of Pics, Part One!

Charlize Theron looks appropriately regal and menacing in this new still from Rupert Sanders’ Snow White and the Huntsman. The darker version of the two Snow White tales, starring Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth, opens June 1 almost everywhere.

Profusion of Pics, Part One!

Last, but not least, for this round are two new pics from The Hunger Games. We get new looks at Effie Trinket (Elizabeth Banks) Haymitch Abernathy (Woody Harrelson), Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) and Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence). Set in a future where the Capitol selects a boy and girl from the twelve districts to fight to the death on live television, Katniss Everdeen volunteers to take her younger sister's place for the latest match. The Hunger Games begin on March 23 in the US, Canada and the UK.

More to come!

LIONSGATE ANNOUNCES SALE DATE FOR THE HUNGER GAMES TIX!

Lionsgate Reveals New Hunger Games Poster!

Lionsgate today announced that tickets for the highly anticipated film The Hunger Games will go on advance sale Wednesday, February 22, which will begin the final phase of the countdown that began with the #HungerGames100Poster reveal that took place on 100 websites back on December 15.

The film takes place during the 74th Annual Hunger Games, and today (January 9) marks the celebration of 74 days until the film’s release.

Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the evil Capitol of the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games.  A twisted punishment for a past uprising and an ongoing government intimidation tactic, The Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which “Tributes” must fight with one another until one survivor remains.

Pitted against highly-trained Tributes who have prepared for these Games their entire lives, Katniss is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy.  If she’s ever to return home to District 12, Katniss must make impossible choices in the arena that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

The Hunger Games is directed by Gary Ross, and produced by Nina Jacobson’s Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik. Suzanne Collins’ best-selling novel, the first in a trilogy published by Scholastic that has over 16 million copies in print in the United States alone, has developed a massive global following.

Fans can register for email or text alerts to remind them when tickets go on sale, and also RSVP for the event by going to the film’s Facebook page. They can also track news on Twitter #HungerGames74

Tickets Will Go On Sale On February 22nd, 2012 at movietickets.com and fandango.com

Lionsgate will release The Hunger Games on March 23, 2012.

More New Images from The Hunger Games!

More New Images from The Hunger Games!

We have a few new pics from the eagerly awaited, The Hunger Games, (It’s been a whole week since we had any news!), including a good look at Haymitch (Woody Harrelson in a role that fans apparently feel strongly about. Everyone-from Jon Hamm to Gerard Butler-was suggested) and Cinna (Lenny Kravitz). I'm still not on this particular party train yet. I haven't read the books so I'm still waiting to be convinced. Of course the film, directed by Gary Ross (Pleasantville, Sea Biscuit) from a script co-written by himself and novelist Suzanne Collins, has one helluva cast. By now everyone on the planet knows that Jennifer Lawrence is Katniss Everdeen, Josh Hutcherson is Peeta Mellark and  Liam Hemsworth is Gale Hawthorne. There may still be a few who don’t know that Elizabeth Banks is Effie Trinket (who now has a line of nail polish colors inspired by her ‘colorful character’. See the ad below), Stanley Tucci is Caesar Flickerman, Donald Sutherland is President Snow, Toby Jones is Claudius Templesmith, Alexander Ludwig is Cato, Wes Bentley is Seneca Crane and Leven Rambin (who just wrapped filming on Of Men and Mavericks with Gerard Butler) is Glimmer.

The official synopsis:

In a not-too-distant future, North America has collapsed, weakened by drought, fire, famine, and war to be replaced by Panem, a country divided into the Capitol and 12 districts. Each year two young representatives from each district are selected by lottery to participate in The Hunger Games. Part entertainment, part brutal intimidation of the subjugated districts, the televised games are broadcast throughout Panem. When 16-year-old Katniss' young sister, Prim, is selected as the mining district's female representative, Katniss volunteers to take her place. She and her male counterpart Peeta, will be pitted against bigger, stronger representatives who have trained for this their whole lives.

The Hunger Games  opens March 23, which is not that far off.  So enjoy the pics. We’ll probably have something new after the Holiday!
