UPDATED: Zachary Quinto Confirms He’s Gay On His Blog

Zachary Quinto Confirms He's Gay

Zachary Quinto's sexual orientation has been talked about for a long time and although he would never purposely come out and confirm or deny those rumors, he did admit in an interview with New York Magazine that he is a gay man. When talking about his stint as Louis Ironson in Broadway's Angels In America he says of the role:

"At the same time," he continues, "as a gay man, it made me feel like there's still so much work to be done, and there's still so many things that need to be looked at and addressed."

Within the same article he mentions it again:

He addresses his sexuality again later in the article, saying "You have the legalization of gay marriage in the state of New York and three months later you have Jamey Rodemeyer killing himself, yet another gay teenager bullied into taking his own life. And, you know, again, as a gay man, I look at that and say there’s a hopelessness that surrounds it."

"Where's this disparity coming from, and why can't we as a culture and society dig deeper to examine that?" he adds. "We're terrified of facing ourselves."

You know to me, I don't care if someone is gay, straight or bi. Whatever works for you as long as it's between two consenting adults doesn't much matter. I think he's great and what's most important he did it in his own time much like Rickey Martin.

UPDATE:

After the publication of  that interview, Zachary took to his blog [via TOOFAB] to detail the reason behind his coming out. It is heartfelt. Grab your tissues.
