Oh goody, there's a new Adam Sandler movie on the horizon.

Donny’s Boy is a new film coming to a multiplex near you (since an art house won’t touch anything with Sandler’s name on it, just on general principals) next June, smack in the middle of summer block-buster season.  

Generally, I like to highlight films that could probably use the exposure, the films you probably have never heard of and so will skip right over them when and if they ever get a release…unless someone (read: Me) tells you about them.  Then of course there the films that fascinate me either because I want to see them or they just seem like they’re going to be a trainwreck I won’t be able to believe anyone threw money at.  Anything with Adam Sandler falls into the latter category until proven otherwise. And I will admit that Judd Apatow’s Funny People did prove otherwise, even if it was so badly marketed that most of the Adam Sandler fans out there actually hated it. Spanglish wasn’t bad either.  I digress, as usual, but I have a point.

The simple storyline: A father moves in with his son right before his wedding and soon begins sparring with his daughter-in-law.

The twist? Sandler plays the father. Andy Samberg (who incidentally, is only 12 years younger than Sandler) plays the son. Leighton Meester plays the bride-to-be.

While still in his teens, Donny (Adam Sandler) fathered a son, Todd (Andy Samberg), and raised him as a single parent up until Todd's 18th birthday. Now, after not seeing each other for years, Todd’s world comes crashing down on the eve of his wedding when an uninvited Donny suddenly shows up. Trying desperately to reconnect with his son, Donny is now forced to deal with the repercussions of his bad parenting skills. 

Donny’s Boy was originally titled I Hate You Dad, but never mind that. Todd’s mother is played by Susan Sarandon who was one of Donny’s teachers, with whom he had an affair. Do you see why I’m maybe thinking this falls into that trainwreck category I mentioned earlier?

The rest of the cast includes Sarandon’s daughter Eva Amurri, Will Forte, James Caan, Milo Ventimiglia, Blake Clark, Ian Ziering, Todd Bridges, Colin Quinn (as well as Ciara, Vanilla Ice and Tony Orlando- I swear I’m not making this up). It was directed by Sean Anders and John Morris, the writers of Hot Tub Time Machine and She’s Out of My League. It was written by David Caspe (Happy Endings) and then rewritten by Ken Marino and David Wain (who both wrote Wanderlust).   Yeah…

Donny’s Boy opens June 15 in the US and 7^th September in the UK.

Now this is a strange mix! Vanilla Ice starring in a new Adam Sandler movie!?  I love it!  Talk about upping the comedic value of the flick!

Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler Premiere ‘Just Go With It’ In NYC

Andy Samberg (SNL) is also in the lineup, along with Leighton Meester and James Caan.

The movie is about a father-in-law (Sandler) who moves in with his son (Samberg) and his wife.  The feud ignites between Sandler and Meester…. and well, we can use our imagination until the trailer hits.

That’s all we’ve got for now, but we will keep you posted on the funny details as they are released.

Brooklyn Decker Celebrates Her Sports Illustrated Cover

Decked out in animal print was the gorgeous Brooklyn Decker, and in leather, a sexy and very happy Nicole Kidman rocked the red carpet with her uber sexy husband Keith Urban.  Dave Matthews also appears in the film and I’ve heard he’s quite funny in it.

The romantic comedy is described as:

On a weekend trip to Hawaii, a plastic surgeon convinces his loyal assistant to pose as his soon-to-be-divorced wife in order to cover up a careless lie he told to his much-younger girlfriend.

Last night I caught TMZ and their cameras caught up with the young girl in the movie, Bailee Madison and not only is she the sweetest kid you’ve ever met, she is so mature and smart beyond her years. They were trying to trick her into saying something negative about her co-stars and she told them she wasn’t falling for it. The girl will be 11 in October.

Judging from the trailers it actually looks pretty good and I’ve been hearing good things about it from those that have already seen it.

Ever wonder just how much money your favorite stars are worth?  Well, Vanity Fair did the homework for us and we’ve got a nice look at what Hollywood Top 40 stars made for 2010.  Yeah, these numbers are big.  Real big.

A definition: this list is limited to creative figures—stars, directors, producers—and to the money they earn from film. Thus we include no executives or agents, and we don’t count earnings from non-film-related projects, such as Steve Carell’s fees for starring on The Office or Jennifer Aniston’s for appearing in SmartWater ads. We did our best to ascertain a star’s up-front advance for a given film as well as his or her share of the movie’s profits, assuming there were any

This is most unfortunate. Poor Adam Sandler.  He does not make for a very attractive girl at all. But let me add that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder so somewhere on this planet Earth someone could be getting a woody for him. Besides beauty starts on the inside.

Adam is at a park in Hollywood dressed as a woman for the film he is shooting ‘Jack and Jill‘ where he tries to use the portable toilet while an elderly lady is occupying it. SO Adam Sandler, yes? Although I love him and think he’s a great guy, his movies are a little too ‘juvenile’ (for lack of a better word) for my taste but what the hell do I know?

Collider reports that since 1998 11 of his 16 films have broken $100 million in box office receipts (domestically). Clearly the man-child has a winning formula. Grown Ups made $264 million at the box office. Did you see that movie?

When I see trailers for Grown Ups, I couldn’t have written the tag line any better:

Boys will be boys… some longer than others

I picture Adam Sandler, Kevin James Rob Schneider, Chris Rock, and David Spade doing a lot of burping and farting contests and jokes. The trailers look funny but I have to wonder if it’s one of those movies that the trailers capture the funniest parts and the rest isn’t so much.

The movie also stars Salma Hayek, Maria Bello, Maya Rudolph, Steve Buscemi, Tim Meadows and others and hits theatres tomorrow.

The premiere featured a lot of the cast members along with reality stars Snooki, JWoww, Kelly Bensimon and Luann de Lesseps.
