First Official Look at Colin Farrell in Seven Psychopaths!

First Official Look at Colin Farrell in Seven Psycopaths!

Back in December we told you about writer/director Martin McDonagh's (In Bruge) new action-comedy Seven Psychopaths, starring Colin Farrell, Sam Rockwell, Christopher Walken, Woody Harrelson, Tom Waits and Olga Kurylenko, with a few pics from the set. Today, thanks to Entertainment Weekly (by way of ComingSoon), we have the first official stills from the film.

Farrell plays as a struggling screenwriter who inadvertently becomes entangled in the Los Angeles criminal underworld after his oddball friends,  a out of work actor (Rockwell) and a thief who steals dogs to ransom back to their owners (Walken), kidnap a gangster's (Harrelson) beloved Shih Tzu, Bonny. In McDonagh’s hands, I can just imagine the black comic hijinks that will ensue. As I said before, the only thing that could make this better would be if Brendan Gleeson was playing one of those characters.

Seven Psychopaths is expected to hit theaters this fall. I will be first in line. More on this as we get it.

First Look at Colin Farrell On The Set of Seven Psychopaths!

First Look at Colin Farrell On The Set of Seven Psychopaths!

Here’s a first look at Colin Farrell on the set of Martin McDonagh’s Seven Psychopaths. Right off the bat, that’s a very intriguing title. Add to that, it’s directed by McDonagh, the mastermind behind one of my favorite films of the last decade, In Bruges, and includes that film’s leading man, Farrell (If you haven’t seen that brilliant first feature from a writer/director who will surely become one of the most important of the next ten years, do it now. You can thank me later.) and costars an incomparable cadre of indie actors (some of them so good you have to wonder why they haven’t been brought together before) including Woody Harrelson (whose role was set to be played by Mickey Rourke until he had problems with McDonagh), Sam Rockwell, Christopher Walken, Abbie Cornish, Kevin Corrigan, Zeljko Ivanek, Tom Waits, Gaboury Sidibe, Olga Kurylenko and Brendan Sexton III. Before I even know the plot, you couldn’t pay me not to see this. So what is the plot?

A screenwriter (Farrell) struggles to find the handle on his script called Seven Psychopaths. He then gets drawn into the dog-napping escapades of his friends (Rockwell and Walken). Once the beloved Shih Tzu owned by a psychopathic gangster (Harrelson) goes missing, the screenwriter finds himself fuelled with all the drama he needs for his screenplay, if he can stay alive long enough to write it all down.

Frankly, the only thing that could make me happier about any of this is if Brendan Gleason were also involved (maybe a Ralph Fiennes cameo?). Oh well, you can’t have everything.

Who doesn’t need a little Colin Farrell to close out the old year and ring in the new? Look, he even brought his own bottle! Enjoy the pics from the set of Seven Psychopaths (courtesy of Film-O-Filia by way of HeyUGuys). More on this one (like a definite release date) as we get it.

Trailer for London Boulevard with Colin Farrell!

Trailer for London Boulevard with Colin Farrell!

London Boulevard is the directorial debut of screenwriter William Monahan (The Departed) and based on a novel by Ken Bruen. It's the story of a man newly released from prison (Colin Farrell) who falls in love with a reclusive young movie star (Keira Knightley) and finds himself in a duel with a vicious gangster (the incomparable Ray Winstone). Aside from the fact that Knightley's character was written as an older woman, they did a pretty good job of adapting the book. Take a look.

If you like Brit gangster flicks, and I love them, then you'll enjoy this. It's had a rough time getting US distribution but IFC Films has finally picked it up. It's actually playing on VOD right now (which is where I saw it last weekend. I've been waiting for this for ages!), but it will get a theatrical release starting November 11. London Boulevard also stars Eddie Marsan, Ben Chaplin and Anna Friel.

Colin Farrell and Jessica Biel Film ‘Total Recall’ In Downtown Toronto PHOTOS

Colin Farrell and Jessica Biel Film 'Total Recall' In Downtown Toronto PHOTOS

Colin Farrell and Jessica Biel are still in downtown Toronto filming scenes for Total Recall. Colin is in a futuristic vehicle that looks to have sustained a bit of damage which I apologized a thousand times for I just wanted a pretty picture of Colin . The film is being directed by Kate Beckinsale's uber-cute husband Len Wiseman and he's given the wife a starring role in it as well (Lori).

In the film Colin plays Doug Quaid/Hauser and Jessica plays Melina. So far we haven't seen any outlandish costumes in the on-set pics that we've posted, but that doesn't mean there aren't any. You've got to love the futuristic vehicles though, right? I wonder what else will wow us when the film comes out.

The film is scheduled for its American and Canadian release on August 3, 2012.

First Look at Colin Farrell in Total Recall!

First Look at Colin Farrell in Total Recall!

Here’s your first look at Colin Farrell, looking as little as Arnold Schwarzenegger as possible, in director Len Wiseman’s remake of Total Recall thanks to Entertainment Weekly who’s on a roll!

In addition to Farrell, the cast includes Ethan Hawke, Jessica Biel as Melina (the Rachel Ticotin part in the 1990 version), Mrs. Len Wiseman aka Kate Beckinsale as Lori (the Sharon Stone role), the great Bill Nighy and Bokeem Woodbine, Bryan Cranston (who’s also got Contagion and John Carter in the can, is filming Rock of Ages and has just signed for Gangster Squad. Thank God for “Breaking Bad”. He’s always been a great character actor, now at 55 he’s a star!)

According to EW, the new story involves the nation states of ‘Euromerica’ and ‘New Shanghai’. Farrell plays Douglas Quaid (a role for which Tom Hardy and Michael Fassbender were both considered), a factory worker in the latter, begins to believe he is a spy, although he doesn’t know for which side. Brian Cranston plays Vilos Cohaagen, the leader of Euromerica who, under the cover of protecting his people, is secretly readying an invasion of New Shanghai.

This sounds more like a re-imagining than a remake. The 1990 version seemed to be loser to Philip K. Dick’s short story, “We Can Remember It For Your Wholesale”, but I could be wrong. I guess I’ll have to see the new version to find out!

If I remember correctly, Total Recall will hit theaters in August of 2012.

Colin Farrell is Sexy Evil in ‘Fright Night’ (Trailer)

Fright Night Movie Poster

Fright Night Movie Poster

Personally, I am a big chicken when it comes to scary movies. BUT, this one stars the very sexy Colin Farrell and well, that means I have to at least give it a chance. He’s eye candy no matter how evil he is, right? Fright Night is Farrell’s latest flick and yes, it’s horror… all the way.

Celebs Out & About: Colin Farrell, Mariah Carey and More

Senior Charlie Brewster (Anton Yelchin) finally has it all going on: he’s running with the popular crowd and dating the most coveted girl in his high school. In fact, he’s so cool he’s even dissing his best friend. But trouble arrives when Jerry (Colin Farrell) moves in next door. He seems like a great guy at first, but there’s something not quite right—but everyone, including Charlie’s mom (Toni Collette), doesn’t notice. After observing some very strange activity, Charlie comes to an unmistakable conclusion: Jerry is a vampire preying on the neighborhood. Unable to convince anyone, Charlie has to find a way to get rid of the monster himself in this Craig Gillespie-helmed revamp of the comedy-horror classic.

Are you freaked? Are you going to go see it in theaters and scream right along with me? It arrives on August 19!
