US Magazine is reporting that Brooke Burke confirmed Olympic Gold Champsion Misty Mae-Treanor is injured and out of the Dancing With The Stars competition for good:

“It’s such a sad situation. She did hurt her Achilles tendon. I don’t know if she tore it or ruptured it,” Brooke said on L.A.’s 104.3 FM. “She’s out of the competition. Just like that, it’s over for her.

“The sad thing…this is her jumping mechanism,” Burke added of the beach volleyball champ, 31. “We’re all really concerned for her. She may be having surgery this week. We don’t know yet. It’s such a bummer.”

“She heard a pop,” Burke said of the Olympic gold medalist, “so it’s really serious.”

Poor Maksim Chmerkovskiy who took a year off and is paired up with Misty.  Brooke said there were rumours that he and Edyta Sliwinska would dance together, but nothing is confirmed.  The same amount of shows remain so they will need to get creative with whatever it is they choose to do.

As for her partner Derek and Shannon Elizabeth, she confirms they “are still together:

“They’re living together,” Burke said. “She comes to rehearsals and they’re going strong.”

Based on the goo-goo eyes she would give him during Dancing With the Stars, I’m finding this one very hard to believe.  She always had a stupid grin plastered on her face every time she looked into his baby blues.  They started living together really quickly into the relationship, but she says no to marriage? 

Perhaps the fact that she is in the middle of divorcing her former husband Joseph Reitman, may be the reason she said no.  That makes sense.  I think.

Derek Hough is 23, and Shannon is 34, so with youth on his side (not that she is old) he has the energy to pursue this until he exhausts the poor girl into submission!!  A source close to Derek said:

“He’s very persistent and is used to getting his way.”

That would make Julianne Hough her sister-in-law.  When asked if Shannon would one day be her brother’s wife, Julainne replied:

“I have no idea.”

They are a cute couple, and Derek seems like a cream puff, but Derek, baby, you are way too young to get married.  Happiness to both.

 Elizabeth Berkley has a deal with MTV to develop a show that will follow her around the country helping teenage girls with self-esteem.

For the last two years she has been doing just that: running sessions that teaches young women about confidence in special workshops.

Amy Bailey, MTV’s vice president of News + Documentaries says,

“We had been looking for a program that tackled the same issues, so it seemed like a perfect match.”

Ask-Elizabeth is expected to debut in the U.S. later this year (08).

What a great concept for a show.  She should be proud as that is a great contribution.  She has changed a lot since her Showgirls days.
