Halle Berry's baby daddy Gabriel Aubry admits he has a problem and has agreed to anger management classes. This development occurred Friday according to TMZ when the couple met for hours with the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services. They recommended the classes and Gabriel agreed. This is the result of a complaint made earlier in month when the nanny alleges that Gabriel pushed her while Nahla was in her arms.

However their battles are anything but over as their is a criminal hearing for child endangerment charges stemming from those allegations. However because it is a 'he said/she said' type of thing charges are NOT expected to be laid.

Halle Berry was all set to make her Broadway debut in The Mountaintop in September alongside Samuel L. Jackson but has had to bail on her commitment because of ‘custody issues‘. As you know Halle and baby-daddy Gabriel Aubry have been going at it for months over legal custody (and parental rights) of their daughter Nahla.

She had to change roles in the film New Years’ Eve that was being filmed in New York due to custody issues and now she can’t make her commitment to the Broadway show for the same reason. The producers released the statement that she will: “not be appearing in the role due to child-custody issues.”

I do not know Halle Berry or her custody issues, but it seems odd to me that someone can’t work to battle said issues. Working mothers and fathers around the world have to keep their jobs while they fight custody battles every single day.

Again, I realize I do not know her or her situation but sometimes when someone is keen on pointing the finger at others, it’s usually because they are trying to get the focus off of themselves. And usually for good reason. Afterall isn’t that what smear campaigns are all about? Our Canadian government in the upcoming election is a prime example of that. I’m not saying this is the case because I truly don’t know, but it sure does make you wonder, doesn’t it?

The priority here of course is Nahla and her safety and well-being, but I just don’t know how Joe and Joan Average are able to hold down jobs while embroiled in custody battles?

I’m sure this isn’t the end of this drama. What are your thoughts? Anybody out there who has been in child-custody battles that had to drop out of work? Know anyone who has? Or do you think this is a bit much? Or is this code for between the custody battle and hitting it with Olivier Martinez a girl has to set her priorities?

In these photos, Halle is seen leaving Pane E Vino after having lunch with a friend and does some shopping as well. When she left the restaurant she was totally swarmed by photographers.

As you know Halle Berry is making headlines in the news with her ugly custody battle with Nahla’s baby-daddy Gabriel Aubry in which the latest is a racial war between the two parents.

Word is that Gabriel flies into a rage every time someone refers to his daughter as black, insisting she is white. And Halle just came out with an Ebony cover and interview in which she says about Nahla:

“I feel she’s Black. I’m Black and I’m her mother, and I believe in the one-drop theory.”

The one drop theory:

Refers to a classification system which states that anyone with even “one drop” of black heritage should be classified as black.

I’m not going to get in on that debate because it’s hardly up to me to give an opinion on it, but I just wish the public mud-slinging would stop. They are parents and are not setting a very good example for their daughter.

The thing I find incredibly odd is that a man who was with a black woman for a few years, and had a child with her, would fly into a rage at the thought his daughter is black.

It’s either a pile of crap or he’s a nutcase. Despite Halle being raised by her white mother, Halle has publicly acknowledged her mother raised her to think of herself as black and Halle embraces that.

Halle Berry and her baby daddy (to daughter Nahla) Gabriel Aubry split up after having been together for 5 years and it was reported that they were working very well together in any custody arrangements.

Then news hit that Halle was dating her Dark Tide co-star Olivier Martinez and the two have been quite inseparable since.

On December 30 Gabriel filed papers to formally recognize him as Nahla’s father. That seemed out of the blue and a bit on the odd side considering by all accounts they were working quite amicably together.

TMZ is now reporting that Halle is in a legal fight with Gabriel and even went so far as to cancel a film commitment this week in New York to take care of this. She will be replaced by Katherine Heigl in New Years’ Eve. Her rep:

“Halle has serious concerns for her daughter’s well-being while in the care of her father for any extended period of time and is prepared to take all necessary steps to protect her.” She has attempted to resolve these custody issues amicably with her daughter’s father, Gabriel Aubry, directly, but given his lack of cooperation, Halle has no choice but to seek swift judicial intervention,” her rep says.

Are you shocked by this? I mean she has a baby with this guy, is working out custody amicably and then after he files paperwork to declare his legal rights, it’s at that point that she has a problem with him. I mean obviously the welfare of the baby is all that matters, but do you think this sounds a bit fishy?
