Tom Hardy Goes All Handsome Bob on Jonathan Ross!

Tom Hardy Goes All Handsome Bob on Jonathan Ross!

This clip from Britain’s Jonathan Ross show has been making the rounds of the interwebz, because it was initially reported that Ross had so angered guest Tom Hardy by showing a clip of his early “modeling” days, that a visibly upset Hardy had stormed off the set. Where do they get this crap? Of course one “news” source reported it and then a million others picked it up and it boomeranged it’s way around the world.

Watch the clip and you can see that nothing of the sort happened at all. Hardy did tease Ross, pretending to be upset and Ross’ reaction was to offer his guest a hug. It’s at this point (approx. the  8:25 mark) that Hardy proceeds to give Ross “The Handsome Bob”, duplicating (intentionally or not) the scene from 2008’s Rocknrolla wherein his character has a crush on Gerard Butler’s One Two. Thinking he’s about to be sent to prison for five years, One Two goes dancing with Bob, sort of as a last request kind of thing. Here’s a clip below, but if you haven’t seen the film-do it. (Do it now! If you don’t love it, I’ll eat my mouse.)

I suppose if pressed, I could say that another reason for posting the interview is that Hardy talks This Means War and The Dark Knight RisesIf pressed…

Adrien Brody, Andre Benjamin and Gael Garcia Bernal Clean Up Nice

Adrien Brody, Andre Benjamin and Gael Garcia Bernal Clean Up Nice

Actually, according to Gillette, they are "Masters of Style". Mr. Benjamin's wardrobe was certainly seriously stylish. Love the boater. Gael Garcia Bernal always looks the same to me, but okay.  I do find it amusing that Adrien Brody has been given that title since more often than not, his style choices are the object of, if not outright derision, at least some serious head scratching. (Not me. I love that he marches to the beat of his own fashion drummer. He'll wear a tux to a casual event and go cas to a black-tie affair. That video from the Prada menswear runway show in Milan a couple of weeks ago? That was like porn. What? TMI?) It's akin to L'Oreal hiring Gerard Butler to hawk men's skin care. (C'mon! He's gorgeous, but he needs some sunscreen!)

This Gillette ad is fun to watch, but I have to wonder how effective it'll be. I had to go back and look up what exactly it was they were trying to sell. It's the Gillette Fusion ProGlide Styler, but all I was focused on was the eye candy.  Then again, it's possible that I'm not their target market.

Brody on his "style" (I could watch it with the sound off…maybe that's just me)

We've also got some pics from the French premiere of Adrien Brody's new film, Detachment.  Oh yes…seriously stylish.

Fantastic New Trailer for Japanese Release of Machine Gun Preacher!

I have to share this with you. I’m sure you’re aware that I’ve been a champion for Marc Forster’s Machine Gun Preacher for a very long time and I was more than a little disappointed in the way that the film’s domestic release was handled. Well, the good news is that it’s still being rolled out in other countries so that there are people on this planet who will get to see this haunting film.  (It’s not perfect, but it is effective and it features a game-changing performance by Gerard Butler. You can read more of my thoughts on the film here.)

This coming weekend, Machine Gun Preacher opens in Japan. This is good news on several fronts, not the least of which is that Japan loves Gerard Butler so they’ll probably go and see it. The film’s release is obviously being supported since they’ve got this incredible new trailer. THIS is the trailer we should have gotten in the US. It hits all of the right notes including the effective use of Asche and Spencer’s wonderfully evocative score.

The dvd for Machine Gun Preacher is currently available for pre-order in the UK. No word yet (other than vague rumors of “March”) for the US release (I’m shocked!) but in the meantime, the film is still opening around the world and the real Machine Gun Preacher, Sam Childers, is still traveling across this country, personally trying to give people the chance to see it.

Enjoy the trailer (It's NSWF since they don't edit the language from the film). More on the dvd release as it becomes available.

Oh SNAP! Gerard Butler Doesn’t Know A Brandi Glanville VIDEO

No One Should Look That Good Just Getting Gas - Gerard Butler in LA

Well doesn't this make Brandi Glanville look like a liar! Earlier this week we told you how she admitted to boning Gerard Butler during a week of sex that earned him an 11 out of 10 but that story may have been bullsh*t.

Gerard  was caught looking delicious yesterday and when TMZ asked him about Brandi Glanville he responded with 'who's Brandi Glanville''? Maybe Gerard is punishing her for mentioning his name, or he's had so many women he doesn't quite remember their names OR it's all a crock of sh*t.

What do you think?

No One Should Look That Good Just Getting Gas – Gerard Butler in LA

No One Should Look That Good Just Getting Gas - Gerard Butler in LA

Okay, this fitness craze has gone far enough when G’s swapped his beloved ‘full-fat’ Coke for a DIET Redbull. Geez what’s left? No smoking, no drinking, no cupcakes…Pretty soon  he’ll have nothing to live for…what’s next? Wom…no, never mind. I can’t even type that.

I generally don’t feel the need to comment on the man’s personal life and  I don’t really want to discuss the ‘hook-up heard round the world’…but if I get one more Google alert about that famewhore with the big yap, I’m gonna retch. I honestly could not care less what he or WHO he does while enjoying the ongoing carnival that is his life. If he had three wives and twelve children he’d still be the hottest thing on the planet. (And I thought that before the famewhores knew who he was. This fame thing's a double edged sword. I kind of miss the days of  “who’s Gerard Butler?”) I hope she’s enjoying her fifteen minutes of sleaze-tinged notoriety. G’s got friends in high places.

Anyway!

I’d like to thank G for surfacing today. (I agree, G. That shirt had too many buttons.) I just know he’s going back underground soon. I hope it’s to start shooting something. He’s got a few projects lined up and I know Thunder Run with Sam Worthington and Matthew McConaughey is supposed to be ‘in-production’ already. G’s at loose ends and gets into trouble when he’s not filming (and even when he is, if he’s filming in his own backyard. Oh! I crack myself up.) Hopefully the next one is ‘on location’ somewhere.

I’m waiting not so patiently for Coriolanus to roll into town so I can see it again and Machine Gun Preacher to come out on dvd so the rest of the WORLD can see that. (Don’t get me started.)

Brandi Glanville Admits Hooking Up With Gerard Butler VIDEO

Brandi Glanville Admits Hooking Up With Gerard Butler VIDEO

Let's file this nugget of gold under 'never in a million years'. Real Housewives of Beverly Hill's Brandi Glanville admitted to Bravo's Andy Cohen on that her most famous hook up was with GERARD BUTLER. I need a few moments to compose myself here.

US Weekly first reported back in September that the two had been hooking up over the summer according to her friends. When she appeared last night on 'Watch What Happens Live' Brandi admitted Gerry was her most famous hook up. Ha! Take that Eddie Cibrian. And on a scale of 1-10 Gerard was an ELEVEN. And the hook up of fun was for a week. Who's surprised? Lucky biotch.

Watch a Coriolanus B-Roll and Interviews with Ralph Fiennes and Gerard Butler!

New Poster for Coriolanus + A Few Thoughts on the Film

Since it’s Monday, I figured it might take a bit more to get the old heart pumping so we have another B-roll from Ralph Fiennes’ Coriolanus to share, as well as interviews with Fiennes, Vanessa Redgrave who plays Coriolanus’ fierce, militaristic mother Volumnia and, of course, Gerard Butler who plays his arch-nemesis.

Written by John Logan (GladiatorThe AviatorThe Last SamuraiRangoHugo and Skyfall), Coriolanus is based on the Shakespeare play of the same name in which a banished hero of Rome, Caius Martius Coriolanus (Fiennes) allies with a sworn enemy, Tullus Aufidius (Butler) to take his revenge on the city. Jessica Chastain plays Coriolanus’ wife Virgilia, Brian Cox plays mentor/advisor/father figure, Menenius and James Nesbitt is Sicinius

Enjoy the footage. Coriolanus is currently in theaters in NY, LA, San Francisco, the UK and select cities in Canada. It’s being slowly rolled out across the rest of the US during the coming weeks. (And entirely too slowly in my opinion! C’mon Harvey. You have other films on your slate besides Madonna’s.)

Watch the B-Rolls for Ralph Fiennes’ Coriolanus!

Trailer #2 for Coriolanus with Ralph Fiennes and Gerard Butler!

We have a lot of B-roll clips from Ralph Fiennes’ Coriolanus to share with you. B-roll, in case you were wondering, is an editing term. It originally meant footage that was used to cover a ‘cut-away’ between dialogue. The footage was on a secondary or “B” roll of film.  That meaning is kind of antiquated since most movies are shot digitally and are edited in a very different manner. Today it generally means behind-the-scenes footage of the making of a film, shot alongside the filming of the actual movie, and usually used for a “making of” style documentary.

Technical enough for you? I find this stuff fascinating, but if you’re worried it will distract you when you get to see the movie, skip it and just watch the interviews. For me, since I’ve already seen the film once, I enjoy seeing the behind the scenes, then watching the movie again from a different angle.

Ralph Fiennes, making his directorial debut plays the title character from Shakespeare's historical tragedy. Gerard Butle plays his archenemy, Tullus Aufidius. Lest we get too esoteric…there’s a lot of great footage of Gerard Butler doing what he does best…acting…breathing…
