You probably know her best in Hannah Montana and Spy Kids movie sequels, but what you may not know is that Emily Osment has been making music for almost as long as she’s been acting.  An accomplished musician who has played guitar for years, Emily co-wrote all of the tracks on her Wind Up Records debut album Fight or Flight, in stores today.

The album was produced by industry veteran Nellee Hooper, who has also worked with Gwen Stefani and No Doubt, U2, Bjork, and Madonna and includes the singles “Lovesick” and “Let’s Be Friends.”

Emily’s favourite groups growing up included Led Zeppelin, the Beatles, the Monkees, the Doors and Herman’s Hermits, as well as modern groups like The Pixies and Massive Attack.  She says of this album:

“I don’t want to write songs that are just surface-deep “I want to be in a world where I’m making the kind of music I want to make, and that’s what I’m doing right now,”

“I want to find a balance between Top 40 songs like ‘Lovesick’ and ‘Let’s Be Friends’ and more complex material like ‘Marisol’ and ‘You Get Me Through’” “I’ve given 1000% to making this album,” she says. “I won’t settle for mediocrity.”

You Get Me Through was written by Emily for her mother, whom she credits with giving her her love of music.

Miley Cyrus looks lovely and is joined by father, Billy Ray Cyrus, her sister Brandi Cyrus and German celebrity Davorka Tovilo at the Berlin, Germany premiere of the movie ‘Hannah Montana’.

At the London premiere, both Miley and her father admitted to having a crush on George Clooney.  Awww.  Isn’t that sweet?  A little disturbing, but sweet.  Billy Ray has said of Miley:

“I’m very proud of Miley. I’m very proud of the film. We had a great cast, a great script. Getting back to Tennessee, getting back to our roots, that’s kind of the heart and soul of the film. I had a couple of songs in the movie. One of them was called ‘Coming back to Tennessee’. These fans out here have been amazing today and to see this kind of support really makes it worthwhile. It’s all about the fans.”

Miley Cyrus is joined by her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus as they attend the U.K. premiere of the ‘Hannah Montana’ movie in London.  She looks quite lovely, doesn’t she? 

She recently told ‘Hello’ Magazine that she has learned not to go to her dad for any sympathy when a relationship ends:

“Dad just doesn’t get it. He’s just like, ‘Suck it up and get over it! You’ll find another one! There’s more fish in the sea and he wasn’t that good-looking anyway!’ He actually did say that once. He’s a harsh man to my boyfriends. He’s usually cool with them when they’re with me… But once it’s over – once they dump me or I dump them – then he’s always down for bashing them.”

I think with men unless it’s happening to them, they tend not to get overly emotional or compassionate about anything.  I mean that in the nicest of ways dahlinks.  Would you agree?

Miley Cyrus takes time to get some juice with her mom in Toluca Lake and later takes the dogs out for a walk with her dad Billy Ray. 

Apparently on Saturday she had lunch with Nick Jonas but I don’t have those pics available to me.  She was celebrating her Hannah Montana Movie success with the young Jonas brothers when the pappers started snapping away.  I wonder if Justin knew.   Miley has reason to celebrate the movie (with or without Justin), in its opening weekend the movie made $34 Million which is double what the studio execs anticipated.  Miley wrote on her Twitter page:

“Omgomg!  my fans rock! the movie is doing great you guys! omg AND its all cause of you!!!! I LOVE U ALL! IF YOU HAVENT SEEN IT YET CHECK IT!,”

Miley Cyrus is May’s cover girl for Glamour Magazine and in the issue talks about fame, love and growing up:

GLAMOUR: OK, so I’m sitting here, eating sushi with you, and I have to say, you seem like a totally normal young woman! How is this possible?

MILEY CYRUS: [Laughs.] I think at some point during everyone’s life, you finally figure yourself out. I haven’t even done that yet. I’m still learning who I am.

GLAMOUR: Do you think these past few years of intense fame have given you a different perspective?

MC: I was talking with my mom one day, and I said that I would not change the way I grew up for anything. But, yes, I am really overwhelmed. I went to the Oscars for the first time when I was 13. Then I had my first real relationship; it was hard-core and lasted two years [with Nick Jonas of The Jonas Brothers]. That’s a life-changing experience most people don’t have until they’re 19 or 20. So my life has been on high speed. [My career] is a huge responsibility.

GLAMOUR: So what are some lessons you’ve learned from your mistakes?

MC: I’ve learned how to respect myself and how to say no. I’ve learned who I can really trust. I have 200 or 300 friends, but I probably trust four. When I read something in the tabloids and it’s from an “insider,” I want to know who thinks they’re on the “inside.” Because I can count on one hand the people who really know me. There’s my best friend, Mandy; I can tell her anything without being judged. There’s Jason Earles, who’s on my show—he’s like a big brother to me. There’s my big sister, Brandi. And the best thing that’s happened to me in a long, long time has been meeting Justin [Gaston], because he’s the most respectful and selfless person I’ve ever known.

Miley Cyrus is joined by her family, Taylor Swift, Vanessa Williams, Dancing With The Stars’ Shawn Johnson, Demi Lovato, Terry Hatcher and others for the world premiere of Disney’s ‘Hannah Montana The Movie’ in Los Angeles yesterday.

This Saturday, Miley and her former boyfriend, Nick Jonas will team up to record a Disney song for charity called ‘Pass It On’.  She says of the media perception of her relationship with Nick:

“We don’t hate each other. We really love each other,” she said. “He’s really cool and I’m happy we’ve been able to stay friends.” 

“Everyone thinks that me and the Jonas Brothers have this big feud going on — [but] me and Nick are really close friends now,” she continued. “We talk all the time and he’s one of my best friends.”
