No, that’s not a type-o.  $35 MILLION dollar home!!!!  The purchase in Los Angeles is to help accomodate his expanding family following the birth of his son Brendan last month.

A source tells Star Magazine:

“Mark and Rhea suddenly felt their house was too small. Now that they have baby number three, they need a live-in nanny, a live-in cook and a housekeeper to help Rhea.
“He wants space for when family comes to visit. And he’s adamant about the kids all having their own rooms.”

The couple have 3 children in total.

Mark Wahlberg & Rhea Durham welcome baby number 3, a boy, to their family.  A name was not available at this time.   The couple already have a 4-year-old daughter, Ella, and a 2-year-old son, Michael.

Despite having been together (off and on) for many years, the couple only recently got engaged.  He has spoken of the difficulties the relationship has sustained:

We continue to grow in our relationship, and we have a much better chance of succeeding and staying together now,” he told Us.  “I was not prepared to be married, no matter who it was when I was 20 or 30,” the 37-year-old actor added. “Committing to making it work and all the other things that go into building a solid foundation is where I’m at now.”
