I wish there was a better picture with both of them looking at the camera, but clearly Ben Affleck is bent on whispering in his boo’s ear instead. 

BFF’s Matt Damon and Ben Affleck reunite for the 3^rd Annual Ante Up For Africa No Limit Texas Hold’em Tournament  that began yesterday afternoon in Las Vegas.  It’s nice to see these two together again and I’m going to point out the obvious, and what I know you’re thinking:  Matt Damon is looking mighty hot, yes?

The annual event was hosted by poker star Annie Duke and actor Don Cheadle at the Rio Hotel in Vegas.  The event will be aired August 11, 2009, 8-10 pm E.T. on ESPN.  All players are being asked to donate half of their winnings to Enough and Refugees International.  These organizations are helping the citizens of Darfur and Sudan as they enter their 6^th year of dire crisis.  The Ante Up for Africa site can be accessed here

This is a parent’s worse nightmare and beyond tragic.  Mike Tyson’s 4 year old daughter has died from the tragic accident in their home.   Exodus Tyson died Tuesday at a Phoenix hospital after accidentally having a treadmill cord wrap around her neck.  Mike Tyson’s statement:

“We are grateful for the tremendous outpouring of love and prayers from all over the world,” ”There are no words to describe the tragic loss of our beloved Exodus. We ask you now to please respect our need at this very difficult time for privacy to grieve and try to help each other heal.”

The mother of the girl was in another part of the house cleaning and asked Exodus’ 7 year old brother to go check on her.  That is when he found her dangling from the cord.  The mother adminstered CPU while the ambulance was on the way to the house.

A man with his own history of assaulting women (he was accused of beating former wife Robin Givens and convicted of raping another woman) Mike Tyson shares with US Magazine how he can understand Chris Brown:

“It’s none of my business, but you know what I say about that? I understand the situation. I understand passion with young kids,”

What does he think Chris Brown’s problem is:

“My personal opinion about that is, he’s just a baby,” ”He’s just a little baby that don’t know how to handle his emotions when it comes to a woman. And he probably hears this and thinks, ‘I know how to handle my emotions’; we all think we do” “But the fact [is],” Tyson continues, “you look at this person and you might be crazy in love, but we don’t know how to handle those feelings”

Tyson blames the ‘pimp mentality’:

“Now you’re a fly guy and a cool guy [you think] … you have to be hard like that,”

He shares his views on violence against women:

“You can’t abuse them,” he tells MTV. “It’s really sick what you [can] do. She has a space in your heart and you believe you care about her more than anybody in the world”.

“Do I think it’s right to beat up a woman? No — hell no,” he adds. “Have I hit a woman before? Hell yeah. Was I wrong? Hell yeah. I’m a product of that environment. Do I regret ever doing that? Hell yeah. Would I do it again? Never.”

How shocking is that??  She used to love it in her younger days until she learned of the drug-dealing success of Nazi war criminal Klaus Barbie.

“Until that moment I had never grasped the full horrifying structure of what brings coke to our parties in Britain,” she told GQ interviewer Piers Morgan.

She also admits in the interview that she was dated-raped “a couple of times”:

“Not with excessive violence, or being hit, but rather being locked in a room and made to have sex against my will.”

I`m a little surprised and disappointed that she down-plays such a serious offence by reasoning that there wasn`t any violence.  Would she be so cavalier about it if she had a daughter who was date-raped??  She also goes on to say about it:

“It’s such a tricky area, isn’t it? Especially if there is no violence,” she continued. “I mean, look at Mike Tyson. I don’t think he was a rapist.  “I guess it is one of the many subtle parts of the men/women relationship that has to be negotiated and worked out between them.”

Stealing or bilking people out of tons of money doesn`t usually include violence either, but that doesn`t make it any less of an offence, does it?
