Dancing With The Stars’ Abbey After Party – PHOTOS

Dancing With The Stars' Abbey Afterparty

Dancing With The Stars’ professional dancer, entrepreneur and Playboy bunny Karina Smirnoff and DWTS‘ celebrity model (not to mention beautiful human being) Petra Nemcova hosted an after party at The Abbey in Los Angeles after last night’s show.

It also happened to be the birthday of Lindsay Rielly, Karina’s gorgeous manager.

Karina’s DWTS’ friends Louis Van Amstel, Demitry Chaplin, Chelsie Hightower (along with her brother Jordan Hightower), and Chelsea Kane also attended.

Did you watch last night’s show? Was it me or were the scores a bit OFF? And by off I mean making not a lot of sense. For instance, Hines Ward. Don’t get me wrong I love him and Kym and wish them the best in this competition but I didn’t see where his dance warranted those marks. He’s done better in other dances. It just made no sense.

Tonight’s elimination should be very interesting. Who do you think will be going home?

Dancing With The Stars’ Season 12 Week 5 – RECAP

dancing with the stars

It’s Week 5 of Dancing With The Stars and the weeding out of the weak will continue. So far I think this season it’s been bang on in terms of who has been eliminated. How did you like tonight’s show?

Did any performance stand out as good or not-so-good for you? Who do you think will be eliminated?

Here is a recap of the performances as well as scores in order of performance:

Ralph Macchio & Karina Smirnoff – The Samba – At the beginning Ralph seemed very unsure of the steps yet he seemed to get the complicated steps, but he’s still a bit stiff. I hope he stays.  He’s clearly a fan favourite based on how the audience reacted to Len’s comments.  8/7/7 – 22/30

Chris Jericho & Cheryl Burke –  Viennese Waltz -  DAMN. He looked so handsome in his uniform.  I thought their waltz was so beautiful and the music really lent itself to their dance. Beautifully done.  Cheryl was showing off her Rocky Mountains according to Len! That was funny.   9/8/9 – 26/30

Petra Nemcova and Dimitry Chaplin –  Quick Step – Petra is so beautiful, graceful and elegant. I don’t know that this was her strongest dance  but she is a pleasure to watch.  7/7/8 – 22/30

Romeo & Chelsie HightowerFoxtrot – Romeo looks so handsome  in a top hat and tails. Their dance was so beautiful. They were a little off in their synchronization at the end but still superb.  9/8/9 – 26/30

Hines Ward and Kym Johnson – Rumba – Something about a uniform is very hot. I think Kym was amazing as always but I wasn’t overly thrilled with Hines’ performance. The judges loved him but what do I know?  9/9/9 – 27/30

Kirstie Alley & Maksim Chmerkovskiy – Foxtrot – It was nice that Maksim was topless. I don’t think Kirstie’s solo at the beginning was very strong but I know I could never do it so my hat’s off to her. I think Bruno hitting on Maksim was awesome.  8/7/8 – 23/30

Kendra Wilkinson & Louis Van Amstel –  Foxtrot – I’m so glad she came to realize that Carrie Ann was not putting her down with the ‘are you afraid of elegance’ comment. Personally I think life at the Playboy Mansion has ruined her self-esteem. She needs to forgive herself for boinking the old dude. I still think she was quite stiff. Don’t get me wrong I want to see her come back,  I love me some Kendra. 8/7/7 – 22/30

Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas – Samba – I liked the energy of this dance. Especially Mark’s. He’s such a dirty boy. I think Chelsea was great as well. Len was even happy with this one!  I think it was his most enthusiastic remarks of the night.  9/8/9 – 26/30

Dancing With The Stars’ Season 12 Week 3 – RECAP

Wendy Williams and Tony Dovolani –   The FoxTrot – I love Wendy Williams but I found this kind of dull and lacklustre. I loved her story. How many people could do what she did? I agree with the judges though in that it wasn’t her best dance at all.   5/5/5 – 15/30

Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas – Cha-Cha-Cha. This girl’s body is to die for. The fact she doesn’t think she’s sexy is quite shocking.  I thought they did amazing.  7/8/8 – 23/30

Chris Jericho & Cheryl Burke –  The Rumba – What a heartfelt story about his mom. But like the judges said his hips didn’t really move a lot but it was still so very beautiful. An excellent choice of music. 7/7/7 – 21/30

Kendra Wilkinson & Louis Van Amstel –  The Rumba – She had a difficult time coming down the steps. I like Kendra so much but she has no confidence and I really wish she’d get some because I think she has a beautiful soul and heart.  She tries and works so hard. 8/7/8 – 23/30

Romeo & Chelsie HightowerThe Rumba – What a heartbreaking story of losing his cousins at such an early age. I loved that they wore white like Angels. The choice of song ‘I’ll Be There’ was so appropriate and beautiful.  He’s a great young man. 7/6/7 – 20/30

Hines Ward and Kym Johnson – The Samba – Loved this dance. I love watching him no matter what and it’s always nice when a man honours his mom!  9/8/8 – 25/30

Petra Nemcova and Dimitry Chaplin –  The Waltz – The costumes, the movements, the music was all perfection. So very graceful. I loved what Bruno said about her because not only is she drop-dead gorgeous her heart is so pure and beautiful. She’s a pleasure to watch. 8/9/8 – 25/30

Sugar Ray Leonard & Anna Trebunskaya – Paso  - The beginning was a un-Len like, but I liked it especially once they started dancing. The energy was great and the audience was up on its feet. Great choice of music.  7/6/7 – 20/30

Kirstie Alley & Maksim Chmerkovskiy – The Rumba – Omg they fell and Maksim looked like he really hurt himself, but they recovered. That’s got to be difficult though. They got great scores despite the fall. 7/7/7 – 21/30

Ralph Macchio & Karina Smirnoff – Rumba – He is so romantic and such a sweetheart. He had such a baby face when he got married. I love that he dedicated it  to his wife of 24 years! How beautiful. His posture is quite graceful. I loved how he went to his wife after the dance. 7/7/7 – 21/30

Did you watch tonight? Who was your favourite? Least favourite? Who do you think is going home tomorrow night? Selena Gomez and One Republic will be performing. Will you be watching?

Dancing With The Stars Season 12 Week 2 RECAP

dwts chris jericho and cheryl burke

Sugar Ray Leonard & Anna Trebunskaya –  The Jive – He seemed to run out of steam during the kicks but he had some great moves. Although this is not a strong dance for him in this competition! Scores 6/5/6  – 17

Kendra Wilkinson & Louis Van Amstel –  Quick Step – She looked beautiful in the dress. She still lacks confidence and she shouldn’t. Her posture was good and she seemed to have all the moves (although Bruno disagrees) but she looked like she needed to breathe.  I really hope  she  finds the confidence  she  needs  for this.  Scores 7/6/6 – 19

Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas – The Jive – Amazing performance. Very  sharp. However it didn’t seem to be very ‘jive like’. They really did take a huge risk, considering Len is one of the judges. It was very good but it didn’t make the judges happy. Except for Bruno of course. Scores  6/5/7  – 18

Chris Jericho & Cheryl Burke –  Quick Step -  Sometimes  it’s very difficult to get past his gorgeous smile and face. But I try. Not a lot, but I try. I was most impressed when they first started and I continued to be impressed. Clearly Cheryl put the fear of God in to him and it worked. He was quite elegant. Scores 8/7/8 – 23

Petra Nemcova and Dimitry Chaplin –  The Jive – I love Petra. I think she is a class act in every sense of the word, both inside and outside. And she doesn’t give up. She tries so very hard. Her torso  made me want to drop down and do some  stomach crunches. But I had just had some ice cream and like not eating and swimming right away, I don’t think ice cream and crunches go together. Scores  6/6/6 – 18

Kirstie Alley & Maksim Chmerkovskiy – Quick Step – I really look forward to the behind-the-scenes on these two as well as their dance. I love the chemistry between them. She seemed to lose her footing a bit and was laughing. How can you not love her? I loved the kiss at the end. She is totally the season’s favourite. The crowd was still standing and clapping while Carrie Ann Inaba was speaking.  Scores 7/6/7 – 20

Mike Catherwood & Lacey Schwimmer –  The Jive – My first thought is the guitar at the beginning is going to piss Len off. My second thought is Lacey’s outfit is super sexy and no one could rock it like her! He’s a bit stiff, but I think still pretty good. The Jive is a difficult dance. I never noticed their chemistry until tonight. And the dance made Len smile. Scores – 6/5/6 – 17

Romeo & Chelsie Hightower – Quick Step –I think he and Chelsie did well tonight. Their moves toward the end of the routine were amazing. I like him and I love watching their rehearsing video beforehand. They got a standing ovation. Len thought it was the best dance of the night. For Len to think that, you know technically it must be sound because he’s a stickler for that kind of stuff. Scores – 7/8/8 – 23

Wendy Williams and Tony Dovolani –   Quick Step – Women do enough laundry in life, we don’t need to incorporate it into dance routines for goodness’ sake. I think Wendy was much less self-conscious than last week. She did great from what I can tell. Scores 6/5/6 – 17

Ralph Macchio & Karina Smirnoff –  The Jive – With how amazingly well he did last week, it was only natural to look forward to this week. No pressure, right? I think he surpassed even last week. Omg the speed and tightness of his steps was incredible. I can’t believe Len thought it was too much. Bruno thought it was a little frenetic too. Sometimes there is just no pleasing people, right? Obviously to those of us without training will not see all of the missteps, but I thought he did amazing! Scores 7/7/7 – 21.

Hines Ward and Kym Johnson –  Quick Step – They looked quite dapper tonight. I thought they did really well. That can’t be easy to do whether you have injuries or not, so my hat’s off to him for being able to do that despite all of his injuries. This dance made Bruno quite happy. The judges were very happy with his technique, moves, and timing. Scores – 8/7/8 – 23. They are going into elimination with the highest score.

To vote online go here.

This week’s scores are combined with last week, but as you and I know, even the best scores don’t mean anything. Did you vote? Who are you hoping to win? Who do you think will be eliminated tomorrow night?

Petra Nemcova Considered Quitting DWTS To Aid Japan Victims

Petra Nemcova seriously considered quitting Dancing With The Stars to aid the victims of the Japan earthquake and tsunami it is being reported.

It’s a situation she has personal experience with having survived the Thailand tsunami back in 2004 by clinging to a palm tree for 8 hours with a broken pelvis. Her boyfriend at the time, Simon Altee was swept away and died during the tsunami. She described to Good Morning America earlier this week the force of the tsunami:

“The power is so enormous, you feel powerless, you can’t do anything,” Nemcova explained. “The more you fight you lose your energy, so you have to try and stay calm, but there are doors and trees crashing into you. You’re trying to catch your breath but you can’t, you just have to stay calm and alert.”

“My heart is going out to everyone in Japan because of my experience.”

Can you imagine going through that? She did that for 8 hours! But she turned her tragedy into a good cause by starting the Happy Hearts Fund which aids children of natural disasters:

“Happy Hearts Fund comes in after the first responders leave because it can be up to two to 10 years until actual development can be complete in these areas, but Happy Hearts come in immediately where we rebuild schools and that’s when the kids can just be normal again,” she said on “GMA.” “If I could ask anyone for help in Japan I’d ask them to help in the Happy Hearts Fund.”

She was talked into staying on Dancing With The Stars and told she can get her message out the viewers. Dancing With The Stars airs on Monday, March 21, 2011.

If you would like to help the victims of Japan, there is more than one way to donate with Mashable listing 7 different ways.
